It's not all about the killing! Sometimes, you just want some casual wear or a comfy t-shirt and pants to lounge around in. Dykstra models an Aerlinthe T-shirt above, a gift from her Patron, with a dyed scalemail girth. She even has matching boots (pictured below)! For a more daring look, she'll combine her white leather cuirass with a sporty pair of Ursuin Boots!

Sometimes it *is* about the killing! The outfit below is Dykstra's current hunting ensemble. She's wearing Greater Shadow Celdon of Flame (enhanced with a Major Atlan Fire Stone) with a Niffis Shell Helm and Studded Leather Boots. As a sword fighter with Item Magic, she fights with a Bandit Rapier and a Tower Shield. Currently she prefers hunting near Tumideon Dungeon and the Lightless Catacombs, killing Golems, lower ranked Shadows, Grievvvers, Tuskers, Viridi and now Tumeroks.

We talked a bit about her Monarchy and the people she regularly adventures with. She has a very close relationship with her Patron, Lytta, whom she met in the best of all possible ways! She was but a lowly noob in Rithwic, trying to scrounge up some gear, when Lytta struck up a conversation with her. After several weeks of friendly conversation, Dykstra swore allegiance to her. She and her friends are based at the West Shoushi Outpost, and others in her Allegiance, "a great, supportive group of people," (under the Monarch Ace) are housed in Tou-Tou. 

Here's another excerpt from one of Dykstra's letters, assuring me that my choice of Celdon for my Greater Shadow armor was not one to regret:

"Now, to the topic... milady, enjoy thy GSA Celdon! It's protective, it's fashionable, and unlike other garments, if you do not like the color, then you can change it! (My personal faves are the Acid Green and the Fire Red.)

I must admit, the purple chain/yoroi number is very stylish, sexy and sleek. (In fact, I have a set as well, including an Old School Olthoi Helm to complete the ensemble!) But for practicality, the Celdon is the way to go.  Try accessorizing with any of the numerous types of crowns circulating about the shops when in a particularly 'regal' mood! ;)

Also to consider are the varying types of boots available... Leather is slimming but plain, the studded can be complimentary or downright gaudy, and the Steel Toad (as my patron Lytta calls them!) Boots have that defining strip in front to try to coordinate.  All important matters to address in your dress!

P.S. Dyeing Celdon can get you some REALLY interesting looks! I used to have what I called my Creamsicle Armor.... orange Celdon plates with pale grey veins. (They looked almost like an old pair of PJ's I used to own! LOL) > White dye got poured on 'em, resulting in a very icy look, white plate with pale grey veins. On my former mule Vulnavia (deleted due to attitude problems!), who had stark white hair and pale blue eyes, the effect was remarkable!"

Below you can see two reasons why I admire Dykstra's fashion sense so much (that 2nd outfit looks vaguely familiar ;-)! The Heaume and the Celdon sleeves are both dyed with Renalim (purple dye). The Sleeves used to be baby blue with orange veins. Definitely an improvement!

One of the fun parts about doing a Runway shoot is that I am privy to all the clever inscriptions people write. Dykstra certainly has a flair! Here are some of my favorites. Try matching them to the actual pieces! (answers below)

And still there was more! Dykstra pulled out one of the best outfits I've seen to complement a Sclavus Helm, and then brought out her Axe Fighter, Llyr Stormbull, to show off his amazing ensemble. He's pictured below with his Ursuin Helm, Mattekar Arm Guard and Fang Mace!

With Llyr, she had one her best gear gathering experiences ever, when attempting to get her Rubies for the Silifi of Crimson Stars. Thanks to a person blessing her in town with Coordination VI and Strength VI, she was able to retrieve the Defender Ruby out of the Grievous Vault in three minutes!

Llyr currently hunts in the Golem Valley between Baishi and Lin. He wasn't as lucky as Dykstra to find such a good patron as such an early stage. He's been through nine patrons! And, while in service under one of those nine, went through five different monarchies! Llyr eventually abandoned the life of the nomad and is now also in Ace's Allegiance under Madrina's service. Sadly, though, he still has a few deficits. (no item ;-)
