Here he is! Ned Cleversun in his new Mattekar Coat! Pigroast II, learning about Maggie the Jackcat's strong desire to give her wonderful vassal a Mattie Coat, offered her a spare. Thank you very much Pigroast II! You are truly generous. Pigroast II said I wasn't supposed to tell Ned where the coat came from; I should just boast about my prowess at killing all those Mattekars. Ha. Ned Cleversun knew right away it was a big fat lie!

Just kidding. There was absolutely no way Ned Cleversun was not going to accept the lightweight coat he had been coveting for so long. As an Archer/Mage, with a need for both arrows and spell components, the low burden / nice AL was very desirable. For weeks he had been moping around in his old Gromnie Hide Shirt and leather boots and bracers, after he had had several (ok, more than several) excruciating and costly deaths during the Shadow Invasions.

But when he hit Level 35 and was finally able to get Item Magic, things started looking up. I got Item at level 20 when Ned was still millions away from level 35. I joked that he would probably be casting portals before me anyway. Turned out to be true, after all! Here's Ned posing in front of a Summoned Portal, as he demonstrates his new skill to me. We had just returned from a run to Cragstone to buy Ned some new shoes. After admiring his portal, we headed down to Ashen Tears Dungeon -- a favorite hunting place for us outside of our home base of Zaikhal, to snap some pics for the Runway. I was so engrossed in photographing Ned Cleversun in his new Coat that I didn't even see that Whirling Blade whizzing towards me from that pesky Lich. Ooops!

Someone recently wrote to me asking why this strong level 30 something guy needed Maggie to get him a Mattie Coat. Why wasn't he out there fighting his own Mattekars? I believe they said, "Hey Maggie, peel me a grape while you're at it!" Haha. It's simple enough: um, he didn't start asking for a Mattie Coat at Level 35. The request has been out there for... quite some time. :) It's a pleasure to be able to give my vassal the things that he wants. It was my duty and privelige. It's one of the nicest things about being a Patron! After all, he doesn't ask for much.

And ~~when~~ if Ned loses this one, the very generous Vilegoroth of Thistledown mentions he also has a spare ready and waiting for Maggie the Jackcat's vassal!
