a while ago, when he was only Level 13, wondering if I wanted lower levels
up on the Runway, or should he wait until he had accumulated better stuff.
At that time, he wore a Gold Chainmail Hauberk, Copper Chain Leggins,
standard Sollies and a Gromnie Hide Basinet (because he had just lost his
Gold Helm in the Mountains). :(
I wrote back stating I didn't have any criteria at all, except willingness! I love showing off the wide variety of armor and equipment in the game, so level or experience doesn't matter to me! Of course, since the line for the Runway got a little backed up, Phantem's had time to acquire an upgraded outfit. He claims that he's now one of the most stereotypical players in the game, with his Bow/Unarm/Item player and his Matty Coat and Olthoi Helm.
But that doesn't stop him from having fun or from being helpful! Like many other fine players in the game, he's always willing to assist anyone in need. He even wrote to me out of the blue one day, after reading the story of Ned's first ill-fated jaunt to get a Master Robe, saying he had a spare Yumi if Ned still needed it. He's very proud of his Allegiance, The Empyrean Knights (Monarch Wolfgar), and says they are always willing to help out when people are in trouble. My own interactions with him certainly bear that out.
In fact, I recently got this letter from him: Ahhh I can't beleive it!
some one gave you a pair of purple steel-toed boots!! That was the color
of my first pair, but since I got a new pair w/ Impen 3 and Quickness 1, I
was gonna pass 'em on to you as a nice surprise when you came to
photograph me for the Runway!! AHHHH! I cant beleive it!! Ahhh!
Anyway, I'll keep a look out for some w/ a spell, and as soon as we are
allowed to sell things in the game, I am going to team up w/ my friend and
open a steel toed boots store. So if you ever need any, ask me and I'll
see what I have in me stock!! Thanks, Phantem! I appreciate the thought! Here he is posing in them, sitting on the Meeting Hall Throne! (Originally, we wanted to take pics outside in Holtburg, but the weather was bad.) Like many players, he has some spare pieces of choice armor that he's waiting to grow in to, like this gorgeous orange ensemble below. Right now, his Arcane Lore isn't high enough to activate the sleeves, but the outfit is quite striking and has an overall base Armor Level of 95! Not bad!
Phantem also has quite the collection of weapons and jewelry. He's already begun to experience the pangs of the mana junkie! I can tell you from experience that it's just going to get worse! ;-) Thanks for posing, Phantem! It was a pleasure meeting you in-game!
