Subutai of Thistledown

Subutai - Level 33

I sent out a request for the updated stats of the Shadow Armor since the patch. Subutai responded, telling me he had a set of the Greater Koujia. We arranged to meet on Thistledown so I could snap a few pics of the Armor. I asked him if he minded if I put him up on the Runway, while we were at it. He responded, "Err... I guess. But my butt looks big in this. :-)"

Subutai

He was pretty fidgety, like many of my models when they first drop a piece of their most prized stuff on a perfect stranger. But we did a security check first, to verify my identity. I couldn't figure out why he was still pacing nervously, until I checked my chat log and realized that I had been blithely chatting away, @telling Desert Rabbit for the last 5 minutes, making him suffer in complete silence. Oops! Hahaha.

Subutai claimed to be a reformed mana junkie, as he handed over his magic clothing and jewelry for me to ID. I didn't buy it for a second. Believe it or not, that's not all of it below. I ran out of room! He joked that Asheron was the main supplier and was smuggling newbies into Dereth to increase his share of the market. I told him he needed to quit knockin' em back with Ulgrim. Then he put all his stuff on at once and buffed to the max. Said he felt like a god like that. But then he thinks about the cost of the mana stones and starts to freak out! (Mana junkie, for sure.)

When he handed me his gauntlets, I joked that I might have to accidentally forget to give those back. He fainted right in front of me! (A pretend faint.) I asked where I could get me some gloves like that. The answer? In trade, of course!

As is my usual fashion, I asked Subutai if there was anything he'd like people to know about him. Should I mention that he needed a Patron? (Hee hee. Maggie the Jackcat has a wicked streak.)

"Lol, errr...no! :-)" he said. "Actually I play irregular hours and like to explore. And I'm willing to risk life and limb to help out anyone in times of need. Just ask! :-)" He told me his death total too (124, mostly to spell casters) and his @age total (which I will not repeat publicly, because if his fiancée found out how much he really played, she might regret she said yes ;-). As we parted, Subutai gave me a couple of nice pieces of loot to pass on to the needy, which he had outgrown. All and all a successful Runway session. It was a pleasure to meet one of Dereth's nicest solo adventurers! Thanks again, Subutai, for sharing your stuff with the rest of us!
