The Defeat of Strife
Strife, a Level 999 Fire Elemental led the attacks on Stonehold, Plateau Village and Glenden Wood. A few firsthand reports follow:

Heya Maggie, figured I could send you some info about Strife.

A Global Message went out on Harvest Gain about Fire Elementals invading the towns of Stonehold, Plateau Village, and Glendon Woods. I hopped a subway over to GW to check it out.

I got there about 30 minutes after the global had initially gone out, and while the place was packed, nothing had shown up. After a bit, we had reports of some fire elementals showing up a few clicks outside town. We ran out there and found a set of Fire Elementals, from Embers to Hellfires. They didn't last long.

After that, more were spotted spawning randomly around outside Glendon Woods, and they got slowly but progressively closer, until some of the spawns were on the hills surrounding the town. But the spawns weren't real heavy.

This went on for several hours, and a lot of people got bored and left. A couple people stuck with it, hunting down the Fire spawns, but not too many. Unfortunately I don't have access to Bull, my main, for a couple of weeks. So I was on a backup account of mine, and had a gimped level 35 swordie, Tsu'nami. So I ended up idling in town for a while, coordinating a bit with some of the hunters and keeping tabs for some of those that had been hunting but left to take care of other business.

About 9:30 AM, EST, it had dwindled down to about a half dozen people or so. Most were hanging in the Inn, I was idling outside, a couple were running around. I didn't see it or get screen shots, but apparently Strife finally appeared, coming down in a ball of fire. He immediately attack Artin, a fellow member of the Dark Slayers monarchy, and killed her. We'd both lifestoned in Glen, and she was killed three or four times before I even realized what was happening. The others in town mobilized, and I got patrolling. Blazing Phoenix, Vin Vegas, and Irok the Warblade all came running, gathering up anyone they knew or could rouse in the Subway (Harvestgain isn't real lively at 9:30 AM on a Saturday :)), while Meribia and Celestial Sword got into the fight in town.

During the fight, Strife yelled out:

I am magic, given life. I am the essence of war, strife, and consumption. I am flame personified! Your parlor tricks would be better aimed elsewhere.

For being the Essence of War Magic though, he didn't seem to cast many war spells, but did cast at least one level 7 drain life, someone mentioned.

Finally, he was killed by Celestial Sword, who received a global message for her efforts. Nothing interesting loaded on the corpse, however. These messages appeared, the first I believe a global, the second a local.

Celestial Sword has defeated Strife, the Essence of Flame, repelling Gaerlan's forces back from the cities of the north...for now.

Consumed in flames again. The world bends to HIS will now. Not even the oldest can touch his power. We shall not fail in bringing him to the Sanctum.

Maggie, what an exciting morning it was today. Logged on early in the AM and before I could even have a coke an admin event 'Strife and Fire elementals are attacking Arwic, Glenden Wood and others'.

Well here I am, just logged on, in GW and unbuffed. Remembering how fast the last several events took place, I started a mad furious buff (THANK GOD FOR BUFFUS!!!). People started to show up... and nothing happens. Several minutes go by and still nothing. I began a wide ranged recon of the area and found a few flares and such, but that was it... how boring.

So everybody leaves, I go out to do a money run at the Lightning Prop dungeon. LS back an hour later to sell all of my loot, and what do I see... I have the town all to myself and Strife is there. OMG!!! I'm burdened, not ready for elementals and all alone, so what do I do? Ill tell you what I did, I took a couple of quick shots with my bow, a couple of screen shots, and a free trip to the LS.

But, my LS was about 10 feet behind where I just died. So I just start sending tells to anybody I could think of before the LS protection wore off. My good friend and often companion Takhisys was nearby and she showed up. Strife quickly showed her the way to the LS also. Thankfully the Anarchs (a small monarchy based in GW) show up and we all took care of Mr. Strife.

Talk about an exciting morning. Gotta Love those events!!! Keep them coming devs...

Hi Maggie!

Just to let you know that we got a broadcast saying that Arwic, Glenden Woods, Stonehold, and Plateau were under attack at 4am(PST) on WE server.

I ran around those towns with friends and could see several spawns of fire elementals (each spawn was constituted of 1 ember, 1 flamma,1 flare, 1 inferno and 1 firestorm). Killing spawns didn't do anything.

After a moment, I went in GW and met a fire Strife and killed it with the help of the people who was here. I'm sorry, I forgot to take SS, but I have the one of the kill. Once vulned and imped, I was hitting him for 550+ frost damage with my Perfect Shimmering Isparian Crossbow.

The strife didn't drop anything unusual besides junk loot. I earned like 30k from him and earned nothing special (no title, flag or special message).

Hi Maggie,

We just finished the battle with Strife in Glendon Woods... Celestial Sword (level 102) ultimately vanquished (and received due credit) this flame ridden foe. Anyways, I got some great screenshots of the battle, if you'd like a copy of them just let me know & I'll send them along...

Thought you might like to see this. Killed the Strife today in GW. Big thanks to Dark Dream for some prots and vulns. I was using my Bandit Yaoji when I killed it, not an elemental weapon. BTW, please note that there were other folks that helped, but I am the worlds worst with names. I think:
Daomex, Ka'al-doo, Dangerous Sword, Lani, Dasan

Sorry if I forgot anyone.

The Defeat of Tempest
Tempest, a Level 999 Lightning Elemental, led the attacks on Tou-tou, Sawato, Lin and Baishi. Following are the reports so far!

Hello Maggie!!

I'm a big fan of your site for a long time but it's the first time I wrote to you, because I was finally able to take part of one event today!

Today, was a broadcast message that a new Essence, Tempest, was attacking the towns of Tou-Tou, Sawato, Lin and Baishi with his elementals.

There were some elementals near all these towns: Astyrians, Scathisa, Static, Scintilla, but most of these were quite far of the 4 towns.

Finally while I was fighting some of these near Tou-Tou, I decided to check if there were some near the town, and I saw an Astyrian and some others in Tou-Tou!! I killed these, and walked to see if some others were coming, just as Tempest spawned just near me!!!!

(I wasn't baned and he was hitting me for 20-30 with each hit, so I had to run and hide for buffing, and call some friends!!)

Etherean and Haldir came to help and some other too, so we started to fight him quite good!

As we were not doing much damage, I vulned him and imperiled him with VII's and so finally his health was going down a little faster!!

A few of us died during the fight, but finally, we were able to kill him!!

Here are a few screenshots of the fight, and the final message of his death.

P.S.: sorry if I forgot to mention someone during the fight, I don't remember everyone who was fighting. "Keeper of the light" got the kill, and msg.

Well Maggie, same time this morning, 8:30 CST the Tempest showed up just N of town between the mage tower and the Agent of the Arcanum. After he was imped and vuln'ed he went down in a matter of seconds. Here's some SS's. Dunkler-Lindwurm was the killer. The spear in the picture is his.

Hello Maggie, I love the site.
I am Iron Fletcher Mexican from Harvestgain, a level 40 archer. Anyways, a level 999 Tempest showed up when I recalled to the LS from the sub around 8:30 central time. It was mean and killed me. I thought it was a cow at first, and didn't notice the other lightning elementals that had spawned also. I laid a few whispers and in no time, lots of people were there. Once it was vulned, I was hammering on it for 40 or so a shot and not missing. I took screen shots for you, I hope it helps. I love the site.

Hello this is MacKenzie of WE, long time user of your site. First many thx to the wonderful siteyou run here. It's truly a great tool in today's world of AC. Second had to send you my pic of Tempest falling with my name on the global msg. = ) My first Thx. Tempest lasted all of 20 sec and popped up around 2:45am EST after 2 hours and a half of waiting. Used my Acid Isparian Superb and smoked him for nice 852 damage crit. Thx Again.

Hello again Maggie!

Well, I think that living in Europe is something cool on AC these time, because this afternoon (in Europe) we got the broadcast message that Stasis, the Frost elemental Essence, was attacking 4 towns: Mayoi, Qalabar, Khayaban, and Kara.

With my Monarch, Baltorn, we decided to take care of Mayoi, as it's the home town of our Monarchy. After a while I decided to take a look also in Khayyaban, as I'm LS tied there, and there were also some Frost elementals near it... Gelid, Frost and some others... but even at level 71 I'm not really able to take the Gelids down (level 151) as they resist much more than Inquisitors.

After a few hours, the elementals were coming near the town, and even in the town, so I killed a bunch of them in Khayyaban (I was alone except some Macro guys). But still no Stasis.

Finally, I got a message from Baltorn that Stasis was in Kara... (Well... that means quite a long run ;)). When I got to Kara the fight had already been going for a short time and Baltorn, Ombre de Jade, Nobiewan, Riz Sliverthorn and Damoclese (I hope I spelled all you names right!) were fighting him, so I joined the fight to take him down. That took a little time, but that was really a cool fight! Stasis debuffing us with VII's and draining with VII's, perhaps also some war VII but none on me at least, so I can't confirm).

Finally he was killed and Baltorn got the kill and the broadcast msg for it ;)

I'm not sure that he's been defeated definitively as Tempest came back at least 3 times since we first killed him... that's quite strange... But he's still dead for now!

From the email I've received, it appears as though the Statis might also be a repeating event. A few more Solclaim reports follow:

I was there for the Stasis Event on Solclaim. It was fun. I did 1 damage to him too! Anyway, Scrappy Doo got the kill (I was really hoping I would). He used his Bandit Yaoji to kill it, and although he got the kill, credit also goes to Tim the Mage who took his time to Imp and Vuln. The loot was nothing special, nothing worth more than 6,000 Pyreals, and from what I hear the Exp was nothing to *gasp* over either. One funny fact is that he didn't just spawn; he flew in dropping from a considerable height, landing alongside the wall of Kara, which I could only locate thanx to you and your Shortcuts page. It was fun to experience the first spawn in the event, and non-glitched like the Tempest During the Second tempest spawn on Solclaim. I'm sorry I didn't get any screenies for you, but from what I hear Tim the Mage did.

I was just gonna tell you about the fight on Solclaim today with Stasis the frost general. Oh, I am the one that killed him and I would like to tell about some of the things that he does. He used level 7 debuffs while I was fighting and he debuffed my coordination. Luckily, I had a gem of stillness on hand. I didn't even use a elemental sword and I got the kill, just my trusty bandit sword. I was double striking and hitting for as combined total of about 300 each time (he was vulned, however). He did cast a few war spells hitting for over 80 points of damage. Luckily, I had some treated healing kits and healed to full health with only one try. After a few minutes he was dead and i got massive @tells from tons of people. well cya Maggie

Plaz the Mage of FF Faces Corrosion!

As the attacks continue, it appears as though the defeat of each general may not route Gaerlan's forces. If the death message states the forces are repelled, they will respawn until they are routed.

Your persistence in striking against us has begun to unnerve us. You cannot hope to survive what is coming there is no stopping nature. Not even time can dwindle our power and what we are.

Hi Maggie!
After the server message regarding Corrosion's raiding party was sent out on DT, I headed directly to AB. Out of all the raided towns, that one seemed the most likely to have Corrosion appear due to its large size and popularity. After 2 and a half hours of waiting and killing all the poor little HoS antis in sight, 2 acid elementals spawned near the healer in AB. I knew what would happen next, so I killed the elementals and Corrosive spawned!

At this points TONS of antis came pouring down on top of me while I was fighting the elemental. After 3 minutes, they all decided to turn on me. I keep myself alive while still doing damage to kill the creature by draining it and doing 100 damage at a time =). Finally, those kids managed to cast fast enough to kill me =(. After that I just threw on armor and an acid pro, buffed my war, and finished him :). SS is enclosed. Strangely, the global was messed up so that it showed Tempest's death message and not Corrosion's. =/

Thought I would send you a screenie of Corrosion in Ayan (HG). Corrosion appeared right in the middle of town as you can tell by the screen shot. Killer was Shakra with Similarrion and me (Stangus OG) assisting.

Hey Maggie:

Sinister Link here, reporting the death of the last general Corrosion on TD. He spawned in AB about 2.5 hours after the broadcast message. About 5 of us managed to take him down. I acted more as a support mage, festering him and vulning him for the others. He was healing like a madman until I got fester on him. After that he went down pretty quickly. Got some SS for you attached. Feel free to use them, or not! Hehe

Maggie, first off I love your site! I was hanging out at my villa when this happened. The towns of Zaikhal, Cragstone, Hebian-to, and Yanshi are being attacked by the Essences of Strife, Artifice, Enchantment, and Verdancy!

Well I thought id report it to you since u have your generals page, hope the info helps!

Gaerlan Calls the Harbinger to Arise! Thanks to Ced of WE!

The following report comes from Ced of WE:

A New dungeon appeared in Yanshi a few hours after all four of his elemental Generals attacked the town and where defeated.

One by my plucky follower Alseyn T'seif!

As luck would have it upon hearing that a new dungeon had opened there we ran from our mansion (just outside Yanshi) to find the new dungeon.

Inside is a room that with windows but no doors. For now it doesn't appear as if you can enter the room through the windows. (it is similar in fashion to the room Martine lives in the Rithwic dungeon)

Gaerlan is repeating the same few sentences:

Gaerlan says, "Here I have gathered my generals, and now sacrifice them. Blood of the Blood, poured now into the vessel."
Gaerlan says, "Who? Asheron! Asheron! I will not let you take my creations. You cannot have the Harbinger! It is mine."
Gaerlan says, "Where is she? The form, it comes...but where is she? Where is my vessel?"
Gaerlan says, "Now, it shall be done. Arise Harbinger, to serve me. Take your form from the fallen and kneel to my command."
Gaerlan says, "Iai, Laurai auri nulaerai. Ulerai aertainuu. Iai, gaulan faunir. Iurai auri saervu Gaerlan."
Gaerlan says, "Here, reformed and complete. Elements together. Here, life begins. Arise, and serve Gaerlan!"
Gaerlan says, "World eater. Your vessel stolen away. Take your form, from the fallen."
Gaerlan says, "Uetenar uethen. Uojrin taentril courlief. Braulaerin tuentara, daucecrai."
Gaerlan says, "In the dawning of the world, they lived as one. In the dawning of the world, without the sun. Sundered wide apart to feed the world their blood. Now return as one."
Gaerlan says, "Wind, Storm, Flame, and Decay together, a complete being. Perfect in everyway. Mine to command! You are my servant arise, arise!"

He is standing in the middle of the room surrounded by the four generals, all lying on beds.
