Balgus prepares to enter the Statue Pedestal!
 

After killing a virindi statue in AB, I got this message:
The barrier energy suffusing the portal beneath the Virindi Statue's pedestal
suddenly weakens, giving you access to the caverns beneath.
After that, a place within the regular statue pedestal opens, like a fake wall,
and you can walk to the bottom. When we went in nothing was in it but an empty room. The rest of the time, the "weak spot" is locked with a resistance of 9999 to pick. More virindi statues spawned shortly after that.

ok I turned in my gear and I was rewarded with a lifesize bronze statue. I am assuming only the people who kill the natives will get these. and once all the bronze are gone there will be no more. -- angel of vengence HG

Grievvers Invade Stonehold!!
75.9N x 19.1W

This is a large outdoor area about 2 clicks across. A valley with a central peak filled with scrawed and virulent grievvers, and apparently exactly one venomous. The location given is nest mound on one side of the colony, with baby grievvers nearby. There are also phyntos wasps caught in webs scattered around. Clearly, these are the grievvers raiding Stonehold. We didn't find special trophies, events, triggers, or any way to perhaps stop the raids, though the main nest mound looks like it had room to put a portal.

Finally! The Ursuin Hide Rug!

Ahh yes, the fun of Hub... finally an attack.

I was running through hub... and suddenly I see a Blue dot and people dying... a mention of martine... lag... I think PK but turn back... the blue dot annoyed me.

There in the center of Hub... in a V shroud... larger than a normal Toon.... MARTINE. He was level 755 (I snapped the SS off at the wrong time.)

He leveled INSANELY fast... and only attacked those who attacked him.... he also shot off ring spells.

Now.. on another note... he is invincible.. and his damage types are not tellable... I attacked him... 4 times... no hit... then he turned to me... I knew I was dead, so I ran a bit... tried again... then instantly saw the LS and "You are utterly destroyed by Martine's attack"

Freakiness... we have no more statues... but we have Martine.

Martine says, "I am no darkness, I am the light. I am the savior of your kind. But you...have fallen prey to his wiles. To his words, to past deeds. He ushered the Hopeslayer back into the pit. HA!"

Martine says, "It was you, and you, and all the other Isparians that stood as one and rallied together beneath a banner that he created. But it was you that struck the final blow that did his work for him. You were his tools. Implements of extraction."

Martine says, "Twist...twist...twist...the lock will finally pop open when you try hard enough. But you are too blind to see this. You are given over to him, not yourselves and that...sickens me.

Hey maggie,

At around 4:45 AM EST Wednesday, June 05, 2002 on Wintersebb, Martine popped up in Qalaba'r. Sixth sense picked him up and so I ran over and kneeled.

Martine says, "Greetings, Isparian."

He started his usual spiel about the virindi and then he vanished. Seconds later a group of Virindi Executors, Virindi Renegades, and Tusker Guards appeared nearby and a couple of the Tuskers ran into town hehe. I buffed up quick and went after one of the level 69 Virindi Renegades. Pretty easy to kill, doesn't resist very much, one or two pops with Flame Bolt VI brought it down. Off it I found a Renegade's Token, a silver pea, some other random crap loot.
 

Martine had reappeared and so I gave the token to Martine and he gave me a quiddity ingot (woot!). Everyone was all excited at the time and I didn't take a screenshot nor remember exactly what he said, but I remember him mentioning something about how I'll need the quiddity ingot for the upcoming war... He said some other lore-related stuff and was also talking about I'm guessing his home on Ispar. And his wife and kids.

Martine says, "And why will she not have me!?"

Ah trouble with women. Well Martine with a face like that not too many girls will be hanging all over you...
