The Obsidian Span
The Gauntlet - Shadow
Stone
The quest for the Shadow Stone was by invitation
only. Candidates were Monarchs only, of around level 50 or so. A Sentinel
appeared who challenged the Monarch to run the Gauntlet in under 30 minutes.
They were charged with obtaining a Shadow Stone which lay atop a hill far in
the distance. If the challenge was accepted, the Monarch was teleported to
an un-chartered island in the SW corner of the map. Obstructing the
challenger were mobs of Shadows, Shadow Lieutenants, Panumbris and Umbris. A
strange creature called the Lag Beast was also reported.
For success, Monarchs
needed a high run skill to outrun the Shadows, and a high jump skill (at
least 250) in order to reach the stone. Those who were successful were given
the title "Dark Master."
Skystreak Cloudrider failed when he was killed
by an Obsidian Golem.
Dvn-the-feared accepted the challenge.
Blackthorn of TD passed.
Vidorian of TD passed.
Bael'Zharon Appears on the Horizon
During stormy weather, people reported seeing a dark winged shadow on
the horizon....
