Town Attacks!
--October 13, 2004 - TD
Mayoi is under attack!
Lightning Dragon of TD reports on the attack on Mayoi: "It was under
attack by bunch for critters (Moarsmen) in TD. We killed them off."

Jadala the Bold of TD
adds: "Not only was Mayoi attacked and Baishi was attacked (Drudge Raveners),
Hebian-To was also attacked by Banderling Slayers, Enforcers."
There are also reports of
Lugian and Tumeroks reproaching those defending the cities calling them
"Traitors" and referring to a pact amongst their races.
--October 14, 2004 - WE
Fizzlesticks of WE reports: "Ayan Baqur was attacked this afternoon at about
12 noon EST Time. Maybe a bit earlier. The attacked consisted of ALL drudges
from Ascendants, Cabalists, Peerless. Then in town itself a surprise was
waiting, VOD Drudges!!! Seraphs and Mystics in huge numbers.
WE came together and with practically the entire server population beat back
the attack."
A report from Sanddh/Roxasect
of WE: "Eyas Maggie, Recalled to LS to find me in THIS (pic 3 below). They
spawned in nice lines along the LS too, came running from all sides towards
the town. Peerless, Cabbies, Unconquered, Ascendant, Seraphs & Seraph
Mystics attacking AB. Mystics dropped glittering keys for the VoD dungeon.
Half the server showed up quickly, but they kept coming, also at LS.
Suddenly it stopped, no clue what, no global or such."
Thanks also to Astalon Decurth of WE for the first two pics below!
--October 14, 2004 -

Mikka of VT reports: "Hey Maggie! Cragstone was attacked around 11AM
(EST) on VT
by a bunch of bandits. Poachers, Mercenaries, Assassins, Bandit Lords, and a
type of Mage bandit. Lvls between 50 to 115. They spawned all around
Cragstone after half the server beat back each wave. It was awesome!"

(prefect's) and a few swarthy's at 6:00 pm EST. Loads of people showed up to
defend Qal, and they all fought with bravery."
--October 14, 2004 - SC
Deven-Kenyon reports on the first news of the attack: "We didn't even
get globals to warn us :/ Laris Bloodsong of SC told me Eastham and Rithwic
were under attack. So far just the two towns, no tumies or lugies yet."
A report from David the
Bear: "We fought back the Rithwic invasion of Murk Drudges and a few other
assorted drudges, when we spotted the cows lining up in formation. Of
course, we didn't kill them all, we had to tip a few first :)"
--October 14, 2004 - MT
Hydrargyrus/Death' Eater reports: "Hiya Maggie, Today at about 10:29pm EST,
Morningthaw had its first "town invasion" of the patch - we were invaded by
Reedsharks. It started out with a few lower level Reedsharks, then Reedshark
Slashers and Reapers came, and last but not least, Doomsharks! By the end,
there was a lot of people there who helped defend Rithwic. Keep up the GREAT
work with the site!"
--October 14, 2004 -
FF
From Tmm of FF: "Hey - great site I love it! This was the attack on Wai Jhou
of FF. I dunno when it started but there were literally 100+ crystals
spawning and re-spawning along with Sapphire Golems, Diamond Golem
Surzarians, Crystal Golems and Shards ranging from Moiety to Sentinal. All I
can say is MASS CHAOS! (They do drop the Gsa warding shards. I found 2 while
I was there.)

reports: "Hey Maggie, all the images are attached, check em out <3 your
site! btw raid was at Ayan...so much lag couldn't even do much but document
what the heck was going on :) Much love!"
Hokuszpok of FF also reports: "Hi Maggie!
There was a raid in Ayan tonight, lots of different creatures, like reapers,
annihilators, obliterators, marionettes, bile grievvers, and TM finally."
Chunin Teiko of TD
reports: "I was playing on Thistledown and got the following Global:
A dark cloud has settled over Ayan Baqur. Monsters
have been seen dangerously close to town fleeing from the Burun in the Dires.
I ran to Ayan and saw numerous VoD type Knath', Bile Grievvers, Olthoi Swarm
Mutilatiors, Olthoi Sentinals, black rabbits, Adolescent Gromnies, Caul
Niffis and Mites,White Rabbit (pookie) and even Tremendous Monougas! Many
died, but we killed more, hahaha =D It lasted a good 10 minutes and lag was
terrible but we managed =)"
"Hiya
Maggie, Shaolin here,
just wanted to make sure you got an account/pic of the mobs fleeing from the
Burun (and stampeding through Ayan)
on Thistledown. Pretty
much the same affair as other servers, assorted Caul and VoD mobs, ight up to
the two TM's at the very end :)"
After vanquishing the
defenders of Ayan Baqur, the monsters have retreated back to their
lairs.....
Thanks also to Magicpipe

More Attacks!
--October 15, 2004
- SC
Deven-Kenyon sends a report from SC: "I keep missing these dang things!
Anywho, I logged in yesterday to this message about 5:35 PM ET:
The brave defenders have fought off the monster
incursion at Fort Tethana.
Laris Bloodsong also tells me Heb was under attack again."
--October 16, 2004 -
VT
Divine Singularity of VT reports: "Ahhh the good old raids...Well I just
woke up...and was pushin away at Caul when I saw a global message on my
screen. "Skeletons have begun amassing near Ayn Tayan" something of that
nature."
--October 16, 2004
A report from Swordsman the Player: "Dear Maggie - I love your site. I was
shopping when Ayan came under siege. In seconds the server population was
there. I also caught what I thought was a glimpse of virindi paradoxes and
seraph drudges."
--October 16, 2004
- SC
Thanks to Deven-Kenyon of SC again!
A small brood of Olthoi has been cornered on the Isle of Tears by the Burun.
"Alrighty, it was only some Guruk's and
VoD Olthoi Primordials. We beat em down fast, and the isle was silent again,
not even an end global. Yet anyway. We checked bm 5 for any changes,
nothing, nor has Asheron revealed himself in Knorr as of this email. We're
checking the noble weapon fort to see if anything is new there.
--October 16, 2004
- TD
Thanks to Darkavenger of TD for the following report and pics: "Here's
screen shots and a new global of undead attack at a deserted village SE of
Danby's Outpost. Attacks were blood fiends, archfriends and numerous undeads."
Word has spread from Danby's Outpost that the Undead are massing to the
south east at a nearby deserted village.

Phoenix Warrior of TD reports: "There was a HUGE Virindi Raid at the VoD LS,
tons of Virindi, Hollows, Tuskers, Dolls, Rifts, Doomsharks, Carenzi, and
Zefir is all I saw. At one point about 12 obliterators spawned! Some
pictures attached, (of course). Oh, and the global for this was
somthing like... "A Virindi summit has been found near the Obsidian Rim!"
Should of taken a screenshot of it but I was so excited/moving to VoD LS so
fast I forgot..."
--October 16, 2004
- TD
Chunin Teiko of TD also reports: "It's the war of ALL wars! I ran
southwest of the VoD lifestone and from the top of the mountain Hundreds of
Creatures were coming at us. VoD and Caul type of creatures like Rats,
Virindi, Rifts, Obliterators, tons of Hollows, Reedsharks and much more. It
didn't seem it was ever going to end and seriously I have never seen
anything like it. It was quite an event for AC players.... It was great and
we came back and whooped em good =D Here's the final screenie =)"
--October 16, 2004 - LC
Mr Fizz of LC reports from Glenden Wood: "Hi Maggie, On Saturday night (Oct
16) around 9:00pm on Leafcull there was a global:
The Undead have been seen congregating at an Undead
Shrine south-west of Crater..
About 15 minutes later another global message appeared:
An Undead Army has attacked Glenden Wood
The Undead raid at Glenden Wood had Elite Revenants, Blood Fiends,
Dark Magus, Phantasms, Risen Lords, and Lich Oppressors (probably even more
undead types; there were numerous waves of attacks, spawning in different
parts of the town). The Undead Armies spawned in military fashion. I've
attached 3 pics I took of the events. Have a good day."
Another report and a pic of Dolls attacking:
"Hiya Maggie, This is Bunny Killer of Leafcull. I took tons of screenshots
of the raid on Glenden Wood and thought I'd send a few along. Sorry for the
huge delay. =)"

"Hey Maggie! It's Phoenix Warrior from TD. There was a golem raid near
Chalicmere (sp) today! Tons of Golems! Pictures attached. Global was: "The
ground rumbles from the force of the Golem horde north of Chalicemere
Castle." When we killed the Crystal Lord Imperator, the raid ended."
--October 17, 2004 - TD
A report from Shaolin of TD: "Me again, just a few screenies of the rather
Large golem attack at Chalicemere Castle on TD! The respawn rate on the
golems was rather fast and in large numbers, particularly the Sapphires and
ancient Platinum variety.... We had to beat back hordes of assorted small
golems, as well as diamond/plasma/pyreal/acidic/coral and a hard to kill
Diamond lord Imperator. We all had a blast on this event, and there were
many deaths."
--October 17, 2004 - WE
Elrihm of WE reports: "Around 8:30 pm central there was a mass of golems
from vapor, plasma, Sapphire, platinum, Ancient Coral and Diamond golems,
and crystal golems, Soverien and Imperator. Raid lasted almost an hour. I
got one screen of the mass of Sapphire golems that spawned!
The ground quakes as a horde of golems masses just north of Chalicmere
Castle!
Thanks also to Tolrath of WE for pics!
--October 17, 2004 - DT
B o u r n e of DT reports: "Wow, DT town raids are a bit different than the
raids on white servers. I think the screenshots tell the story (taken in
Holtburg). Love the site Maggie."
--October 17, 2004 - SC
Bastion of Evil was one of the first to announce the Carenzi Stalker attack
on Redspire! He sends pics of the pack attack and adds: "Redspire is under
attack to say THE LEAST lol."
--October 17, 2004 - FF
Maximum Force of FF sends these great pics of the K'nath attack on Ayan. He
reports: "The lag was terrible but I'd have to say there was a good hundred
or more VOD jellos all over the Ayan area. Not to mention the Crystal Golems
in the town. It was so intense, many people died to help the cause :) But in
the end the Ispairans won to fight another day!"
--October 18, 2004 - VT
Iceiss reports: "Kryst is being overrun! Kryst is being overrun! On VT 1:50pm
pst. Went there with my little archer and found lines of Azeal Zefirs and
Silt Lurkers. When they were killed they advanced higher and higher in
levels till they reached the Dark Zefirs and Reedshark Skinners. Fun, but it
was over way too fast!"

--October 18, 2004 - FF
lost raven of FF reports: "Golems gathering at Chalicemere Castle (C-note).
Sapphire Golems, Crystal Lord Imperators. A good gathering for sure!"
Ophar Kabitaki of FF adds: "At around 9PM EST
global about advancing forces of golems near Chalicmere. Arrived at the
castle and nada. Ran 2 clicks north and hordes of golems. Majority were
sapphires, but the force also consisted of golds, plasmas, vapors, and
miniature golems.
Main antagonists were Diamond Golem Suzerain, Crystal Golem Sovereign, and a
Crystal Golem Imperator. The sovereign was susceptible to all attack types,
while the Imperator was highly resistant to melee, missile, and war damage.
Lifebolts seemed to deal the most damage. Fight lasted approximately an
hour."
--October 18, 2004 - MT
Kriket of MT reports: "An army of Knaths has
been seen just North of the Accursed Hall."
|
|
 |
Aravel of MT was also there: "Last night at
around midnight eastern (not sure of exact time) K'naths raided The Accursed
Halls. I was in Baishi at the time the message went through, so I was one of
the first on the scene. The K'naths spawned both inside and outside the
small fort and they would spawn in lines of 5+. We destroyed the groups
inside the fort and were working on the ones outside when they spawned again
inside and with 5 Virindi Paradoxes. The Paras went down quick and so did
the K'naths. We then eliminated all of them near the fort and pushed them
back into a valley nearby where the final spawn seemed to be. Upon attacking
the final spawn, multiple spawns occurred closer to the fort, in the main
bulk of our forces, I'd have to say 30+ of them. A few more waves took place
and we finished them off. I don't believe I ever saw a message saying it was
over though.
note: hope you're never the main target when that many K'naths spawn. I took
about 20 volley/arc spells within 20 seconds' time on multiple occasions."
--October 19, 2004 - LC
Peerless of LC reports: "Another invasion is on the way, this time at the
Singularity Caul. Dozens (if not 100+) caul monsters and black breaths are
stationed a few feet beyond the drop. So far all efforts to neutralize them
have been in vain."

The appearance of Reeshan hasn't stopped the raids. Deven-Kenyon
of SC sent word of an attack on Tou-Tou by Mosswarts that occurred at about
5:45 PM ET: "that lag was horrid, I couldn't move at all. only have brown
radar dots to show the mess :/" (see pic above)
A pack of rabid Mosswarts is attacking Tou Tou!
--October 21, 2004 -
MT
A report from Hydrargyrus/Death' Eater of MT: "Also, today around 7:02pm
EST, Eastham of MT was invaded by Reedsharks and Caul-level rats. I heard
there were Doomsharks but did not see any myself. There were many Reapers
and Caul rats with 6500 health. Many of the adventurers of MT came to
Eastham's aid to defend the town."
--October 21, 2004 -
WE
The Grim One of WE sent word of rats attacking on WE as well. There were
also reports of attacks on HG and an attack on LC at Neydisa Castle.

Epica of LC reports: "We had a Olthoi invasion
outside of VoD tonight on Leafcull. Still going on, but I can't get back as
my framerate drops to unplayable in that area."
A second report from
Kristen: "Imagine my surprise to see the place I am lifestoned at surrounded
by Olthoi forming ranks! I sent a shout on the server chanel, and soon we
had a merry party going and roasted, bludgeoned and skewered many a bug in
merry fellowship. I took some party photos too..."
The Mark sent these impressions: "The
attack was all Olthoi Sentinels and Primordials. When I first got there, I
saw about 4 people all up on a Lifestone completely
surrounded by this huge swarm. There was many many bodies on the ground."
--October 22, 2004
- WE
A report from Elrihm of
WE:
Despite his staggering strength, Ulgrim has succumbed
to a bandit assault in an out of the way mountain retreat.
"All hell broke loose around 9:30pm central
as the Mountain retreat came under attack! Most of the bandits that spawned
were the bandits from the Weeping Weapon quest. It was a close call, but we
fought them off. Ulgrim has no recollection of the event. We all assumed he
got drunk and passed out after it started."

Jyng of WE sends some of the smack talk
heard during the skirmish:
Adroth spits on the ground as he sizes up Gocymer. "Dunno
how yeh found us, mate. Seems like the longer we all stay in this world, the
more we get a sixth sense for danger, eh? Anyway. Time to pay yer toll."
Adroth's boots clank loudly as he lunges at Jyng!
Torgrym glares over his orb at Casey Ray the hero. "Come on, foight like a
man. Been whackin' on these dumb local critters too long, eh? No challenge
in em, I say."
"Itala falls before Jyng's assault as she fought, silently."
Torgrym glares over his orb at Casey Ray the hero. "Come on, foight like a
man. Been whackin' on these dumb local critters too long, eh? No challenge
in em, I say."
"C'mon ya dumb bastards, fight like a team," Adroth bellows over the clash
of battle.

Arch Magi reports from HG: "Maggie,
Tonight, there was a Dev Event at the portal drop for Sing Caul. When
it first happened, people were just dropping in to do their typical hunting,
but there were 100 or so monsters of all types right on the portal drop.
After dozens of corpses (and playing "Kiss the Lifestone") enough people
showed up and we started to hold our own against the spawns.
The radar was orange with monsters, and littered
with the dead."
As the Pardox ceases a tendril of wispy darkness

Crookshank TD reports:
At 8pm EST, or thereabouts, the drop at the Caul recall was swarmed by
baddies. Tons of Grievvers, Marguls, Wretched Shadows, and the like. Nasty
stuff. I unfortunately did not get pics. I just thought I’d report it for
posterity."
Magicpipe II of TD did get pics, however!

Dear Maggie, At 7:20 pm central time
Alphus Lassel came under siege by Tuskers, Virindi and Sycophants. We fought
bravely and the outcome is still uncertain. Signed, swordsman the player"
Mather of HG also reports: "Hey Maggie! Love
the site! At around 8:45 on Oct. 24 (Harvestgain), a guildmate of mine
reported that Alphus Lassel was under attack! When I arrived, there was a
ring of Sycophants and Assailers wailing away at unsuspecting visitors.
After the first wave was cleared, Virindi Adjudicators (sic?) and
Annhilators started attacking! Sure enough, they just kept coming, and
eventually they were replaced with the big guns: Virindi Quidoxes,
Paradoxes, and Obliterators!! Carnage ensued, and countless people died, but
it was a blast! Here are some screens I took."

Zerono of HG reports: "Ayan was hit tonight about midnight CST. Only reason
I found out was cuz I died and was sent to the LS only too see an orange
radar and died again from trying to get outa there unbuffed."
Another report from HG: "Maggie, Around 1:20
am est on Harvestgain I recall to ayan lifestone to find a mighty surprise!
Huge amount of high level Lich(demilich and other undead around that lvl)
swarming the ayan LS. While running for my life, I realize it's more than
the LS that the whole town is swarmed with likely a hundred or more skellies
and undead. They even started a formation it would seem. I ran around trying
to get some screenshots and have attached some that I did get. anyhow gotta

New Salvage Skill!
Thanks to Zerono and An'iya of HG, Deven-Kenyon of SC, Xiandra of LC!
You have been granted the opportunity to forget
what you know about item tinkering in the form of a gem of forgetfulness.
You have become knowledgeable in the methods of Salvaging.
Your base Salvaging skill is now 5!
Crookshank of TD sends the following salvage
messages (from a character that does not have item tinkering trained):
You obtain 3 Black Garnet (ws 5.00) using your
knowledge of Item Tinkering.
You obtain 3 White Sapphire (ws 6.00) using your knowledge of Salvaging.
You obtain 4 Hematite (ws 7.00) using your knowledge of Item Tinkering.
He adds: "You can
also fail salvaging. It doesn't destroy anything, best I can tell. But I
wouldn't be surprised if it reduces the workmanship or something. I tried to
combine 91 units of work 7 imperial topaz with 1 bag of 6 units of work 6,
and got:
Salvaging Failed!
Salvaging Failed!
You obtain 97 Imperial Topaz (ws 6.87) using your knowledge of Weapon
Tinkering."
A fellow Shadow Knight on TD dumped item
tinkering, and dropped approximately 110 million into Salvaging. It's now
160 base. He is salvaging 5 units out of work 6 items. I, on the other hand,
pumped salvaging to 130 base. My Magic Item Tinkering is 405 base... so,
with every item I salvage:
You obtain 7 Bronze (ws 7.00) using your knowledge of
Magic Item Tinkering.
I'm getting full units based on workmanship. But it's seemingly ignoring my
salvaging skill in favor of the greater skill.
Thanks to Black Falcon of WE for pic of
updated UI!
Plague Wind of MT send a pic of the Salvaging Gem of Forgetfulness! (See the
Skill Sell Back quest for more information!)

Dear Maggie,
The BM5 quest is very straight forward. All it has inside are Burun and
Guruks. There are about 4 dungeons total on the quest (I don't remember; we
went through rather fast). There is only 1 way. All the other ways are
blocked so you can't get lost very easy. Simply just keep going down, down
and of course, down. There was no end boss monster. There was simply a
statue to the north in the last room before the reward room. The last room
had a bunch of heads and many burun and guruks. The spawn rate to my best
guess was about 1 1/2 min, so we just ran through after killing for about 5
mins. Simply run to the statue and use it.
Zerono and An'iya of Harvestgain
Deven-Kenyon of SC reports the message you
get when you try to do the quest before the timer is up:
Though the matron's
sarcophagus is upset and her body is missing, you still feel uneasy as you
reach toward the scroll. Perhaps it would be best to wait the full turning
of the moons before trying to obtain these objects.
The Portal Opens
Thanks to Zerono & An'iya of HG (especially for the blow by blow),
Mykell of FF and Chazzy Chaz of TD!
On Oct. 19, 2204 a global went out:
Lead [sic] by Mgrauleshk, a Guruk Gorefiend, the Burun storm the Temple of
Izji Qo. The portal gateway in the matron's crypt has become active and the
Burun have stormed a receiving chamber containing a sealed portal.
Mgrauleshk and his force will break through the wall and activate the portal
beacon, bringing the Burun masters to Dereth unless they are stopped within
ninety minutes.
When entering the first statue:
Portal space wells around you, causing slight discomfort.
When using the portal gateway in reward room:
As portal space swells around you, you feel as though something is buffeting
the attempt to bring you safely to your location. You fear that you cannot
return here by your own means. The magic of the gateway seems to be the only
way to safely reach this destination.
While fighting Mgrauleshk I got this message:
You wound the giant deeply. The scent of a heady fungus flows about the area
and Mgrauleshk's hide looks to have become thicker.
While fighting Mgrauleshk I got this message:
With a mighty croak, Mgrauleshk, snaps his head back in anger. A deadly
spray of acid squirts from his hide.
Zerono adds: "while fighting Mgrauleshk, I
also found out that if you crit him he debuffs and/or will dispell some
spells on you. Ohh I forgot to add. You have to be red to get to this guy.
There is an eye behind the statue that you use and turn red to kill him."
Mgrauleshk lets out a wail
and collapses in a heap, slain by Pountius Pilatus.

Again from Zerono: "We are now fighting a
door much like the one that was on the Gman quest. We have it at 75%ish and
it doesn't seem to be going down. I only wish I had my noble weapon from
last patch to see if that would do better damage.... I just now noticed that
there is a pink dot in here as well. So maybe you can go pink and not worry
about PK, just a thought."
"OMG we finally kill that door and used a
Beacan. It spawned that big guy in the teaser pic. I was running to get a SS
for you and all of a sudden got this message:
Blood from Zerono has been sacrificed to the Portal
Beacon in the Temple of Izji Qo. As the beacon surges to life, pungent fumes
and the damp air of a swamp filter into the receiving chamber. Mgrauleshk
finds his way to the side of the first Burun master to cross the vast
divide!
I died instantly and gained 10 vitea! I'm going in to get a SS and hopefully
get more information for you."
Reeshan turns its
attentions toward you and with a gesture of its corpulent hand, your body is
disintegrated as it is washed in pure mana. The last sound you heard was a
grim, croaking laughter.
I also got that message after I was dead. I just got many /tells asking me
what happened. Apparently everyone died that was there. Just noticed that I
didn't lose any items on that death either.... Also just noticed that I
still have buffs after that death."
A wave of
energy crashes over the area, at once there is a expulsion and sucking of
air and mana. You hear the sound of the Kukuur in your mind before you see
its enormity. You are gripped with a terror you have never known. As your
body begins to rebel under the strength of this psionic attack, you hear
something akin to laughter.
Zerono also reports that
you cannot log in the dungeon. And one final comment: "I was able to get 1
hit on Reeshan (the big guy) then was portaled out with 10 vitea again."
Critical hit! You scratch Reeshan for 3 points of
slashing damage!
Chazzy Chaz of TD reports from TD: New part
of BM V is PK or PKL only. There's an alter at the entrance, but most people
are just going PKL. Inside there's a bunch of different portal drops and a
huge door. Millions and millions of HP on it. We've been attacking it for
awhile and it's still over 30% hp. The boss is dead on TD; that stopped the
Buruns from re-spawning on us. Here's a pic of the door. I'll send more when
we get through.

An update from Chazzy Chaz of TD: "I got PK'd
before the door fell, so I'm not sure exactly what happened, but this global
just went out.

Looks like we've got a bunch of burun masters to deal with now. Love the
site =D"
The report from FF: "Hi
Maggie, I was one of the first people to get down there and managed to get
the kill on that burun guruk. It was a local message, "Mgrauleshk lets out a
wail and collapses in a heap, slain by Tectonic Rifts." After that people
started flooding in and there were about 40-50 red dots as we didn't know
PKL worked at the time. I'm not sure what happened
but apparently, the
first kill on Mgrauleshk made a door down there vulnerable to attack and
stopped the spawn, although it still took us over
40min to take it down and enter. The rest you know I think from other
reports. Reeshan is the Burun King we released.
He is lv999 and portals massive amounts of people
to Holtburg Training
Academy if a few fellow members attempt to attack
him. Seems to be invulnerable at the current time. Also, killing Mgrauleshk
again after he respawned with Reeshan is really pointless as he doesn't drop
any good loot and simply respawns
instantaneously."

Defended Doors Fall!
The doors on MT & VT have fallen, along with an Envoy!
On MT:
Syn'phony, one
of the attackers, sends this report: "It was a great fight on both sides.
Alas, the defenders let their guards down, and the attackers moved in,
dressed as Wolves, in Sheep's Clothing. Attackers for the win!"
Blood from +Envoy Ferris has been sacrificed to the Portal Beacon in the
Temple of Izji Qo. As the beacon surges to life, pungent fumes and the damp
air of a swamp filter into the receiving chamber. Mgrauleshk finds his way
to the side of the first Burun master to cross the vast divide!
(Note:
Read about Ibn's response to the Envoy's presence
here):
VT successfully defended their door; however,
Mgrauleshk took matters into his own paws to open the portal himself.
His force successful,
Mgrauleshk stands before the portal beacon in Izji Qo's temple. He
sacrifices the life's blood of one of his force to the beacon and it hums to
life. Pungent fumes and the damp swamp air filter into the receiving
chamber. Mgrauleshk finds his way to kneel by the side of the first Burun
master to cross the vast divide.
Ulgrim on the Move!
Thanks to Cenwalh of HG
Ulgrim Recall takes you to 59.6N, 4.1W.
Corvine of TD clarifies the location: "The castle he's at is more rightly
called Mountain Retreat although it was called "The Enclave" for the first
two years of AC. I have lived there since beta, please tell you readers not
to litter the place. Thanks ...LOL."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Come to the
mountains and see the sights, that's what the brochure said! Look at this
place. The didn't even have a decent bar. Fortunately, I'm a people that
knows people. So now the people here have a people that can give them the
spirits that they need!"
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "King for a day! Fool for a lifetime."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "So, where's my
beer?"
You give Ulgrim the Unpleasant Filled Beer Stein.
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Not bad, nice beer
stein too. It reminds me of that time I was in Dryreach."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I had decided to go on a trip. I was tired
of all the sun and relaxation, you know how it is. Anyway, I traveled around
for awhile visiting pubs and inns and ended up in Dryreach, where I was
astonished to find a wonderful house brew made by my friend Mordomor."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I decided to spend awhile getting to know
the drink better so I went to find the old lifestone NW of town. Yeah, I
know there's a new lifestone there, but I didn't know that then. The old
lifestone looked broken, but by this time I was heavily in my cups and
unconcerned with trivial things."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Now, I'm going to give you a very
important bit of information here. Never ever, under ANY circumstances, bind
to a lifestone when you're drunk. And if you have an old faulty wand. And if
it looks like the lifestone's broken... especially if it looks like the
lifestone is broken. I remember wondering why the lifestone was sparking
like that, then why my wand was sparking like that. Then my wand caught
fire, shot from my hand and exploded... then things got weird."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Everything after that is fuzzy, but I
remember dying repeatedly. Not something I recommend, but what with all the
explosions and electric shocks it seemed like the thing to do. My life
flashed before my eyes, at least the part that involved being repeatedly
killed and revived by a demented lifestone."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "When I came to I found that the bodies I
had left during my reincarnations hadn't died. In fact there were nine
copies of myself standing around arguing with each other. I could have sworn
that I died more than nine times, but like I said before I was pretty
vitae'd up."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I've heard of similar lifestone
malfunctions before. Usually the duplicate is just a creepy standing corpse
of sorts that hasn't forgotten how to breathe. In most cases unbinding from
your lifestone will return that corpse's lifeforce or vitae back to its
owner."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "But to unbind from the lifestone I needed
to use the same casting device that I tied to it with. By the time I found
one of my wand's splinters in the pocket of my robe I realized the
duplicates of me had run off."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "It turned out that each of my copies had a
splinter from the wand. I was too weak to get them back myself, so I
enlisted the help of adventurers. These good people collected all the
splinters of my wand and brought them back to me."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I heard many stories about my duplicates
and I actually grew kind of fond of some of them. It was with a heavy heart
that I recrafted my wand and unbound from the lifestone. I haven't heard of
them since then. I guess they're all gone..."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I'll always remember the time we spent
together that spring."
Increased Spawns on Marae Lassel!
--A Simple Man of HG reports: "Found Temenua and his 2 buddies on the
plateau after only 30 seconds of searching. Looks like they are definitely
easier to find."
--Nocturne of LC sends these tips of finding
Ralirea: "Hi Maggie, I thought I'd just like to help clarify the best areas
to hunt Aun Ralirea, especially since the spawn rate was tweaked this patch.
Aun Ralirea is found within a mix of Hea Tumerok Spawns, which are on the
Northern and Western areas of the Plateau. He is found with Aun Hunters,
which do not spawn on the plateau, so look for them as well!
If you are running and you encounter many, many Aun Tumeroks, you are too
far to the south and east of the plateau. Check by the dam in the middle, as
well. Thanks!"
New Island?!
Code the Mage of HG reports: "Hey Maggie, love your site. I was running
around Sancturary and spotted some land off in the distance. I ran to the
edge of the beach as far as I could and got a pretty good look at a new
island. It is Southwest of the Sancturary. Here's a screenshot of it!"
Maxium adds: "Used AC Explorer and updated
the map using the new cell.dat file, found two new (to me at least) land
blocks, one north west of ML, the other South of Cathedral."
Burzum of MT sends a few
more pics after loading as much of the new landmasses as possible into his
cell.dat!
New Journeyman Craftsmen!
Stefyni the Fair of WE reports: "I found one of the new Journeyman
Alchemists in Qalaba'r at 74.3S, 19.3E and got this message":
Journeyman Alchemist tells you, "Greetings! I have
left my master in Glenden Wood to help the craftsmen of this fine land to
hone their crafting skills"
Journeyman Alchemist tells you, "Prove your knowledge by bringing me a Lead
Lodestone, and I shall reward you."
Journeyman Alchemist tells you, "What, you say you don't know how to make a
Lead Lodestone?! Why, that is what tests of knowledge are for! Get out
