From Groundswell

Town Crier tells you, "I've seen people fighting in the streets. What madness is this? Has Asheron grown so weak that his protection does not suffice any longer? I'll wager that you couldn't beat me if I sloughed off his protection for a bit of sport. Well, if I wasn't on duty that is."

Town Crier tells you, "The Olthoi came all at once. People scurried for the safety of buildings. It was horrible, so many memories swelling to the surface again."

Town Crier tells you, "The Linvak Lugians have warned us that two new Gotrok citadels have been established in the Direlands."

Town Crier tells you, "That gentleman in the tavern said your mother wears steel-toed gromnie hide boots. I believe you should challenge him!"
Town Crier tells you, "No, I did not wager on the outcome, what do you take me for? Well, maybe a very small wager..."

Town Crier tells you, "Four more Olthoi hives have appeared in the north!"

Town Crier tells you, "Yeah? Go pink and say that!"

Town Crier tells you, "Deals made in shadow, brought into dim light and blessed in the blood of the innocent make for a new form of battle on this world. I'm not one to raise a blade against my brethren, but if I was... I wonder, how weak has Asheron grown since being sequestered on his island?"

Town Crier tells you, "I believe I could have been a contender!"

Town Crier tells you, "I hear tell that the High Queen is coming to rid the Olthoi from the surface herself. Of course, I had also heard that she was on the move last month. I'm not so sure I trust my sources anymore."

Town Crier tells you, "If you are visiting Fort Tethana or Candeth Keep keep an eye out for Gotrok encampments. We have received word that they have been busy working on new Citadels in those areas."

Town Crier tells you, "Rumor says there is a new Olthoi hive near Beach Pass and one near the New Cannthalo settlement."

Town Crier tells you, "That fellow Antius was poking around all over Dereth. Perhaps he was looking for a source of this latest Olthoi incursion. I just hope they rid them from this place. I don't want to go back to living in a cave stirring a pot."

Town Crier tells you, "Why is everyone fighting? Can't we all get along?"

Town Crier tells you, "What are we to do, the land is not safe. The Olthoi have come back and they mean to enslave us all."

From Into the Darkness

Town Crier tells you, "Has it been over a year since the destruction of Yanshi? I can't help but think of that poor jeweler who never returned to the Lifestone with the rest of the town's folk..."

Town Crier tells you, "There are rumors of new Olthoi hives in the North! I do hope all the homeowners there have a Horn of Vigilance... Available, by the way, at all sellers named Coron Usgin in Zaikhal. Guaranteed to keep Olthoi away! At least, uh, I think they are. Well, I believe you can return it to Coron Usgin if not satisfied, a one hundred percent pyreal-back guarantee! I think..."

Town Crier tells you, "Iquba's tavern in Qalabar's been awfully crowded these days, but no one seems to be buying any ale, just examining some strange keys."

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard tell that all but one of the potions we once used for casting spells is used in crafting new protective stones."

Town Crier tells you, "Our refusal to speak last month was for our own reasons. We're underpaid and it's as though our voices are no longer heard. Many of us decided that we'd be silent for a cycle of the moons in protest. Did it work?"

Town Crier tells you, "The Tumeroks have grown a huge tree in the center of Candeth Keep. They say that it's the heart of the city. Supposedly they can talk to it or some such nonsense. Don't get me wrong, I respect their beliefs, I'm just not sure I believe them."

Town Crier tells you, "They have infested most of the world, and now the Olthoi have begun to blight our lands. And to make matters worse, it looks as though they are beginning to establish new hives in the Olthoi North!"

Town Crier tells you, "Aerbax and Nuhmudira seem to be at each other's throats. I wonder what this will mean for the refugees of Yanshi."

Town Crier tells you, "Some adventurers came back from the stronghold northwest of Mount Esper the other day -- they reported that it'd gotten much more difficult. Something about new monsters moving in! They were going to check two other dungeons, but I don't remember which ones."

Town Crier tells you, "Rumors persist that the Harbinger is reforming much more quickly. If it's true what more could we possibly face. We have the Renegade Tumeroks, the Gotrok Lugians, Aerbax, Olthoi and now a thing that is an elemental force. It's good to see that Nuhmudira is doing something about it over there. Of course... it would be better if she didn't have a Sclavus speaking for her."

Town Crier tells you, "In the Halls of Lost Light the Guardian has stirred and the sword glows brighter now than ever. Perhaps this is an omen of things to come. Perhaps it is a sign that even in this growing darkness there is still hope."

Town Crier tells you, "I can't wait until I have done enough for Candeth Keep to be recognized as a founder. I hear the shops there are exquisite!"

Town Crier tells you, "I never thought I'd see the day where Alchemists would be smiling again."

Town Crier tells you, "I'm trusting in the good faith of the populace to keep me well protected. I figure now that you can craft your own protections I might just be safe on my walkabouts."

Town Crier tells you, "...and a warrior came forth bearing the mark of Light upon him. He carried, in his hand, the rays of the sun crafted into steel. A blade with a purpose in the hands of a virtuous heart brings hope where there is none. The Light has been found again."

Town Crier tells you, "It seems as though the Gotrok Lugians and their Renegade Tumerok comrades are continuing to siege Fort Tethana."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear word that the keep in the South Dires is almost completed. Merchants from all three races of the alliance have moved in to provide adventurers with supplies and places of rest."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard from Alatar Locke recently... he was upset that he had to redo some of his oldest notes... something about some carved caves?"

Town Crier tells you, "Yanshi has suddenly become popular again. I've heard that a Virindi and a Sclavus have taken up in the ruins, professing their allegiance to new leaders. I can only see ill coming from this."

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard tell that High Queen Elysa is forming an expedition to enter the tunnels deep beneath Asheron's Island. I wonder if there is any truth to it."

Town Crier tells you, "I was worried when the Olthoi first began to congregate in the north, but now they have twisted the land into their own! This can only mean bad things for us."

Town Crier tells you, "Yeah, we're all talking again. But the truth of the matter is that we're still unhappy. Tumeroks and Lugians standing by our side! Ha! Tell them to leave us alone in the wilderness, then we'll talk peace."

Town Crier tells you, "Swear to me or die! Ha, ha, just joking. Who would be that cruel?"

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard that one of Asheron's emissaries has been spotted in Yanshi. Perhaps he is there keeping the peace."

Town Crier tells you, "I voted for Locke Ridge..."

From A Swelling Tide

Town Crier tells you, "I am so excited about Candeth Keep. I'm trying to get transfered to it. Those bordertowns see all the action."

Town Crier tells you, "I was looking through my satchels a few days ago and found my Isparian Wand had burned a whole through the burlap and fallen on the ground! It's never done that before!"^

Town Crier tells you, "It appears as though Hibdin Velos has taken the position once held by Martine.I've heard tell that he moved into the throne room and everything."

Town Crier tells you, "I spent all month gathering minerals for Kreavon in Wei jhou. I stopped by the outpost this morning before coming here and he rewarded me with an odd hat."

Town Crier tells you, "Martine's Retreat could have been such a nice place to live, and now look at it. They have barely enough food to survive."

Town Crier tells you, "My brother has a friend who knows this guy who knows the architect that's working on Candeth Keep. He says the poor guy is really frustrated. Seems that there are too many people trying to make decisions about the town."

Town Crier tells you, "Someone scouting the Renegade encampment at Teth said it sounded like a raid by them could happen any time. You should go see. Then come back and let me know. I can charge people for the information! Ha ha."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard that Ulgrim offended the volcano spirits somehow and the volcano near his house began spitting out small golems everywhere."

Town Crier tells you, "Did you hear? Ulgrim's Island is a spawning ground for Golems. They go there to mate. Huh, wonder how that works."

Town Crier tells you, "Do you think that there is trouble ahead? We haven't heard from Asheron recently, Nuhmudira is up to her old ways...what you don't think it was her that killed Jaleh? I think she did, correct me if I am wrong but didn't she threaten him once. Not to mention the crunching noises in the night."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear that Ulgrim angered Asheron and in retaliation Asheron summoned a hundred golems to attack him."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard that Ulgrim was creating a small golem army to do his bidding, but they rebelled and escaped to a nearby island."

Town Crier tells you, "Be careful if you go to Candeth Keep. My cousin got hit on the head with a wooden beam that a Lugian was moving. My cousin's kind of a clumsy guy."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear Ulgrim built his house next to an active Volcano. I'm suprised he didn't build his house on top of it!"

Town Crier tells you, "Oh, you heard about some advancements in Tinkering too?"

Town Crier tells you, "I heard that Ulgrim was creating a small golem army to do his bidding, but they rebelled and escaped to a nearby island."

Town Crier tells you, "Town criers are available in most major towns to tell you of the latest news and events. We'll also give you a piece of information for a bit of money."

Town Crier tells you, "What happened to those Virindi? Did you see them? I've never been so scared!"

Town Crier tells you, "You know that old igloo, way up north, used to hold a mysterious shivering stone? You don't want to go there now. Trust me on this one."

Town Crier tells you, "Sorry -- no time to talk! I'm getting ready for a party at my monarch's villa!"

Town Crier tells you, "I heard the Black Death Catacombs have become much more dangerous."

Town Crier tells you, "You know--It's possible that Jaleh was mixed up with the wrong element. He did just appear as a town owner a couple years back. Of course there was the fact that he is on Elysa's council. I wonder what she thinks about this."

Town Crier tells you, "You know that old igloo, way up north, used to hold a mysterious shivering stone? You don't want to go there now. Trust me on this one."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear that Ciandra took on an apprentice. Nice looking girl. I wonder if she gets lonely out there in Xarabydun? Maybe I'll stop by on my day off."

Town Crier tells you, "Oh just like everyone else, my advice is only good enough for a single pyreal! Well thank you, Mr. Pyrealbags this'll go a long way toward providing for my family. I'm sure that an egg will feed me, my three kids and my wife."

Town Crier tells you, "Oh you just don't know..."

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard rumors that Asheron was seen in Eastham recently just before returning to his island."

Town Crier tells you, "The shopkeepers here keep complaining about the lost revenues from trade notes, but I don't see them going hungry. Elysa was right to make them cooperate -- we're all human, after all, and we have to work together to build Dereth!"

Town Crier tells you, "You know the sword on that ice dias in Glenden Wood? It is there for the taking! But first you must prove yourself worthy."

Town Crier tells you, "A friend of mine got the Sword of Frozen Fury from Glenden Wood and then had it made into a dagger."

Town Crier tells you, "Why yes, now I remember. There are also some fishing holes in Nanto, Rithwic and Cragstone. I've fished near the waterfalls in Nanto and found it quite relaxing."

Town Crier tells you, "I'm not saying that I know for a fact mind you. But if I were a smart mage going to talk with Olcris I'd be bringing my Heiromancer's Armor along for any journey I might take."

Town Crier tells you, "'Riddles? Not more riddles.' That's what I keep hearing people say as they walk on by."

Town Crier tells you, "A friend of mine got the Sword of Frozen Fury from Glenden Wood and then had it made into a dagger."

Town Crier tells you, "The Lugian in Stonehold seems to be both profit minded and tied with Nuhmudira. If you find yourself in the area talking to him might not be that bad of an idea. He might help you along with something of interest."

Town Crier tells you, "I'm not saying that I know for a fact mind you. But if I were a smart mage going to talk with Olcris I'd be bringing my Heiromancer's Armor along for any journey I might take."

Town Crier tells you, "Are you worthy? If so, there is a sword in Glenden Wood for you to take. Myself and several friends tried. We were not worthy. No, we were not worthy."

Town Crier tells you, "Secret Orders? I don't have any and I don't know of any, if I did they wouldn't be so secret now would they? But since you did provide me with some coin I'll tell you something."
The town crier looks around nervously.
Town Crier tells you, "Olcris knows."

From A Gathering of Colors

Town Crier tells you, "Why did the Siraluun cross the road? To eat my sister."

Town Crier tells you, "I understand there is a new portal to the Vesayan Islands. It is south of Mayoi, my sister was running on the beach there, accidentally went through it and was eaten. Luckily, she had recently registered at one of Nuhmudira's new Lifestones, but it was back on Marae Lassel. She had a long trip back."

Town Crier tells you, "With the new creatures that have taken over the Direlands, the Tumeroks out there have been fortifying their holdings. Be careful if you go to visit them, though - these are NOT the friendly kind of Tumerok. Rumor mongers in Dryreach, Stonehold, and Fort Tethana have more information."

Town Crier tells you, "The migration of creatures seems to have settled down a bit. I went hunting the other day and found that one monster I never could kill readily was easier to defeat. Yet another, that I always thought was all too easy to hunt, killed me. Dead. I wanted to laugh but it hurt too much with my lungs ripped out."

Town Crier tells you, "Felscuda, who is in the employ of Lady Folthid, needs some parchment for her studies. You can find her northeast of Yanshi."

Town Crier tells you, "There's a strange old lady who lives in a cave near Cragstone. When I was younger, we'd go down there and play jokes on her all the time. She hated us."

Town Crier tells you, "I overheard someone say that they were able to get their Tumerok Banner framed at one of the Master Furniture Makers. He did warn, however, that once you get a framed version you cannot trade it in for the reward. There was something else... oh yes, he said the Master Furniture Maker crafted a mounted version of the Pyreal Bell for his roof. The Furniture Maker said he could exchange it for an unmounted version whenever he wanted, at no charge."

Town Crier tells you, "On Marae Lassel there is a Lifestone near the Marescent Plateau Portal and near the northernmost coast of the island."

Town Crier tells you, "Mi Krau-Li has been restless lately. Look for more information at the barkeep in Cragstone."

Town Crier tells you, "I saw a mosswart the other day with a nice little frost sword. Man I wish I had that weapon when I first came to Dereth... There I was, all wide eyed and filled with wonder at the new strange and magical surroundings. I came across this beautiful dancing flame, it almost looked human... I know, I know, but I didn't have any clue what an elemental was back then! Needless to say the elemental didn't have any romantic notions about Isparians and I found myself taking my first of many trips to the lifestone."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear that Larry the Bunny Master has been a bit more sociable lately."

Town Crier tells you, "Alchemist Leandra of Martine's Retreat caused waves in the alchemy community when she released her latest findings on that strange substance, chorizite."

Town Crier tells you, "Some creatures are returning to their homelands slower than others. Apparently they are carrying their relics and treasure with them. Seems like a perfect opportunity to help them out eh?

Town Crier tells you, "I saw a mosswart the other day with a nice little frost sword. Man I wish I had that weapon when I first came to Dereth... There I was, all wide eyed and filled with wonder at the new strange and magical surroundings. I came across this beautiful dancing flame, it almost looked human... I know, I know, but I didn't have any clue what an elemental was back then! Needless to say the elemental didn't have any romantic notions about Isparians and I found myself taking my first of many trips to the lifestone."

Town Crier tells you, "The ice and snow are again receding. They say if some special Carenzi pops his head out of his burrow and sees a Shadow then we will have another month of winter. Guess the shadows aren't to active on Marae Lassel this year."

Town Crier tells you, "Creatures all over Dereth are migrating back to their homelands. It seems that the strange Virindi influence that caused them to roam is no longer affecting them. Perhaps the Virindi have finally given up and will leave us in peace, only time will tell."

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin told me about a valley north and east of the Obsidian Plains. He said he saw three eyes towering over the edge of some trees before he ran for his very life. Thundering footsteps pounding behind him, he ran into a group of banderlings he had never seen before and found himself at a lifestone."

Town Crier tells you, "I've noticed that the creatures all over Dereth seem to be on the move, almost as though they are trying to get back to where they once lived. Wonder if they'll get there?"

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin told me about something happening on that Island that the Virindi took over a while back. Why all the interest in the Islands around Dereth recently?"

Town Crier tells you, "Kids these days.. When I was young, there was no way to change your skills around, and if you were a weakling then you were always a weakling! Kids these days have it too easy."

Town Crier tells you, "I guess those collectors have finally wised up. There's no such thing as a free lunch -if you want rat tails you have to pay people for them!"

ToTown Crier tells you, "Another one of Nuhmudira's students is in a tower in Arwic's walls."

From The Hall of the Tusker King

Town Crier tells you, "Students of Nuhmudira are in some of the towns. Humans, Tumeroks and Lugians, learning and working peacefully together... Imagine that!"

Town Crier tells you, "Every year it's the same thing. The first snowfall brings those animated snowballs down from the mountains. My brother's wife's sister's cousin said they can't be trusted. Says they threw him out of his own house the other night and were freezing the place over when they happened across his hearth and melted clean away. Good thing he had a roaring fire going! To be fair though, I hear it's mostly the two-headed ones that are causing all the trouble."

Town Crier tells you, "I would love to take a look at one of those giant gift boxes that appeared in a number of the towns. But no, I'm stuck here and talking to you."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard an odd story from a hunter today. He says that he came across a blind snowman in the northern woods. Said the thing was too pitiful to kill. If you hear of anything that might help it you should head out there."

Town Crier tells you, "Some have said that Ketnan did not move to Aphus Lassel of his own accord, that there was something or someone that drove him there. Sometimes I almost feel for him."

Town Crier tells you, "The Winter winds have blown in a strange new flower. If you are interested in seeing one I was told they can be found in the mountains. They seem to flourish in the chill air."

Town Crier tells you, "I don't know if it's true, but I did hear that High Queen Elysa is rebuilding her home somewhere near Asheron's island."

Town Crier tells you, "Can't beat a nice cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day."

Town Crier tells you, "Want to know what makes it even better? I bet you do."

Town Crier tells you, "Students of Nuhmudira are in some of the towns. Humans, Tumeroks and Lugians, learning and working peacefully together... Imagine that!"

Town Crier tells you, "I never realized some of my items could be hooked in my house. Why, it's as if they just became hookable all of a sudden."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard that a cottage mysteriously appeared on the second island of Aphus Lassel. Only those strong enough to survive there should go though."

Town Crier tells you, "Do you really think that the tuskers have a King? What would he be like? I know I certainly wouldn't want to meet him if he is anything like those Annihilators."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear tell that a few vendors you don't normally see selling house items are doing just that. They say they need to make up for some of the income they lost to people vacationing on Tusker Island. Even the Tumeroks and Lugians have felt the pinch and are selling souvenirs."

Town Crier tells you, "I found this scroll a while back and copied the words down because the parchment was too old to move. I've been trying to translate it for a while now but I finally figured out what it said. 'It eats all starting with their bottom.' What does that mean?"

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen Arwic? It's looking like a real town again! I'm checking with the Crier's Guild to see if I can get a position there."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear a new rumor has mysteriously appeared in certain outlying towns. How does a rumor just appear, anyway? You'd think the shopkeeper would notice a piece of paper appearing in his .. err .. inventory."

Town Crier tells you, "Tusker Temples... who would have ever thought they would start worshipping things and have worshippers themselves. Careful in there. I hear that if you pray to the statue something happens."

Town Crier tells you, "Go to the festival grounds to see a show with everything but Ulgrim."

Town Crier tells you, "I think there is something wrong with the skeletons. I've seen them running all over town and they aren't attacking. From Hidden Vein

Town Crier tells you, "Hear that? Of course not, you are not an Olthoi. That sound you don't hear is my new Horn of Vigilance keeping the vermin away. At least I think it is... Anyway, the deal was too good to resist and it's available only from Coron Usgin in Zaikhal!"

Town Crier tells you, "Have you ever noticed how all the Statues look exactly alike, down to the last detail? I keep wondering...well, I'd better leave that to people who know better about such things."

The Town Crier slowly turns to you, then suddenly goes wide-eyed at what has appeared behind your shoulder.
Town Crier tells you, "Quick! Behind you! A statue!"
Town Crier tells you, "I'm sorry, I've been so jumpy of late - they've been appearing and reappearing so much recently, but I must have only imagined it. I remember the peace of the old days, and you know, it just bring tears to my eyes."

The Town Crier lowers their voice.
Town Crier tells you, "It's true, he's sent a new emissary, it stands near one of the windmills outside of Eastham. He hasn't forgotten about us at all. I haven't been to the windmill yet, but I certainly cannot wait to see what his emissary has to say. I knew Asheron wouldn't abandon us."

She showed me the scars and said "Ursuin Slasher," and something about a leathercrafter at Bandit Castle, but by then I wasn't listening."

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen those new crystalline weapons? My cousin had one. He said that he didn't care for it too much when fighting without an elemental stone."

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin said that the new weapons made from pyreal were nothing spectacular. But then he put a fire stone in his sword and waded in amongst some Shivvers.  Scary, scary stuff.  No ordinary fire sword could have caused that carnage."

Town Crier tells you, "Hey, money! I appreciate it.  Your contributions are welcome."

Town Crier tells you, "A traveller from the Plateau Village informed me he spotted some fine, new houses southeast of there. Abundant hunting in that locale. But are you the hunter or the hunted?"

Town Crier tells you, "I bought a rumor at a tavern about a man who is trying to track down what happened to his older sister. He offers a reward. His name is Glysander Cartoth and he lives in Cragstone."

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin said something about finding odd amulets from some creatures that he had been hunting... They look pretty useless. There is a Royal Guard outside of Lin guarding a warehouse though--he might know something about them."

Town Crier tells you, "The Agents of the Arcanum have provided us with residential quarters for communal defense! Remember, there is safety in numbers! You can get to them through portals from the capitol towns of Zaikhal, Hebian-To and Cragstone."

The Town Crier turns to you with an air of panic and starts to whisper hoarsely.
"Have you seen the statues lately? I was walking past one to my post this morning, and I could swear it looked as if it was getting ready to pounce! They've gone...bad...somehow...

Town Crier tells you, "The Arcanum promised they were there for our good! They said they were our reward!"
The Town Crier looks ready to burst into tears.
Town Crier tells you, "How could they have done this to us?"

Town Crier tells you, "Wedding planners have joined the Arcanum Agents in the nine Nexus towns. All that you might want for the wedding of your dreams are now available in their inventories."

Town Crier tells you, "Glysander Cartoth of Cragstone is looking for help in tracking down some letters that Elysa Strathelar wrote to his older sister. His sister is missing and he offers a reward."

Town Crier tells you, "The Arcanum has dispatched a researcher to the libraries at Cragstone, Hebian-To and Zaikhal. They have sent out a call to all those who could help them find the way to disable the statues--go to them, quickly! You must help our cities destroy the statues!"

Town Crier tells you, "I hear tell that there is a man who seems rather pleased with himself up in the area of Stonehold. He seems a little out of place, and he's quite ornery..."

Town Crier tells you, "A hidden library, much like the lost city of Frore...or so I have overheard while in the tavern, here in town."

Town Crier tells you, "The Lugians have recently sent our furniture vendors a shipment of Travos crystal quarried down in their mines. I love mine--they're perfect for flower arrangements!"

The Town Crier couldn't possibly look more terrified.
Town Crier tells you, "Everyone knows Nuhmidira first introduced the statues to the Arcanum...she insisted they would help protect the cities and they believed her. But the statues have started to attack us! Nuhmidira is gone now...and NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO TURN THEM OFF! Run! Head for the hills! Do not worry about me, I must be brave!"

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen the new wedding chapels that have been built? Almost makes me wish I had someone special..."

Town Crier tells you, "Did you hear what the Arcanum is saying? Nuhmudira has gone missing, I'd sure like to tell you where she lives. But..."

Town Crier tells you, "Boy those elementals sure are nasty. I hear that some have been seen hiding on the Obsidian Plains now."

Town Crier tells you, "I wonder how the Arcanum gained the knowledge to create these wonderful new statues for us?"

Town Crier tells you, "Someone said something about Olthoi working with Martine, What next!?"

Town Crier tells you, "Are you cold too? It would be nice to have a nice, warm house. My cousin told me of some houses west of Glenden Wood and south of Fort Witshire. She said there might be others around Stonehold but I'm not brave enough to go there. If you go, well, see you at the Lifestone! Ha Ha!"

Town Crier tells you, "Environmentalists report a surge in the Fire Auroch population in the Central Desert and Northwest Plains. I wonder if their hides will have any value?"

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard that the cooking guilds are at it again. There are all sorts of new recipies [sic] being written for those minty sticks people found. I also heard that they found a root that makes for a interesting flavor in some recipies [sic]. I love winter food, the cooks really make some tasty treats this time of year."

Town Crier tells you, "I also heard the cooking guilds found a root that makes for a interesting flavor in some recipies [sic]. I love winter food, the cooks really make some tasty treats this time of year."

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard tales that a trio of those strange looking Tumies from Marae Lassel have been taking a tour of Dereth on some kind of "mission." What on earth could they be looking for? I was led to believe that they're an insular sort of folk, never wanting to leave their homeland and all that."

Town Crier tells you, "I have recently heard that Celdiseth has taken on a new apprentice."

The Town Crier leans towards you and lowers his voice to a whisper.
Town Crier tells you, "But get this: rumor has it that his new apprentice is a Tumerok! Can you imagine?"

Town Crier tells you, "I love rainbows. Do you have a niffis helm?"

Town Crier tells you, "Many people have been telling me about strange happenings around the Essences, maybe it has something to do with the new spells in our weapons and armor"
Town Crier tells you, "My brother just returned from a most harrowing experience near the Essence of Strife. He said that he was lucky to escape with his life, and would not advise traveling into those halls alone to anyone."

Town Crier tells you, "Hunters have reported sighting a new taxon of golem up in the Northern Forests-Oaks! And they showed up right around the same time those color-coordinated Tumeroks set up shop near Celdiseth's hut. Coincidence? I'm not so sure...I've heard strange things about those island Tumie's beliefs...always invoking this, summoning that, drumming up this, drumming up that. What's next, Flower Golems?"

Town Crier tells you, "I hear there are some new houses way southwest of Sawato where it's flat as a scallion cake and northwest of Yanshi where the hills roll and the rabbits run free. I'd prefer flat. You can see the reedsharks coming."

Town Crier tells you, "My brother just returned from a most harrowing experience near the Essence of Strife. He said that he was lucky to escape with his life, and would not advise traveling into those halls alone to anyone."

From Flesh and Blood

Town Crier tells you, "I haven't seen a snow like this since..."

Town Crier tells you, "Never mind, this is a natural Winter for sure."

Town Crier tells you, "My friends report of finding armor and weapons with more magic than usual."

Town Crier tells you, "Psst, I heard some houses appeared Southwest of Sawato! You look like someone worthy of a fine residence."

Town Crier tells you, "Seems the Arcanum started making those fireplaces just in time. Plenty of people are glad to have a roaring fire in their house to be sure."

Town Crier tells you, "The snow is really coming in. I suppose we need a real winter after last year. Which reminds me, have you seen any snowmen around?"

Town Crier tells you, "Notice anything odd about them? I've heard some strange reports, but I won't report anything until I corroborate the stories."

Town Crier tells you, "Call me a skeptic, but has anyone besides me been wondering why the Training Academies in Holtburg, Shoushi, and Yaraq survived the Hollow Minions' assault so easily?"

Town Crier tells you, "Quick, what am I?"

Town Crier tells you, "Give up? I'm a windmill!"

Town Crier tells you, "Ehe, well, I thought it was funny."

Town Crier tells you, "We've fought the Virindi's Hollow Minions long enough to know their strengths and weaknesses...but do any of us know that much about Martine's?"

Town Crier tells you, "Hey, there's a rumor of new houses South of Crater Village and North of New'ic. A friend also told me she saw some South of Plateau Village, near Stonehold and a few on the North coast. But those are too far a commute for me."

Town Crier tells you, "In light of last month's attack on the Training Academies, Queen Elysa has ordered her Senior Guards to build garrisions to fortify the three towns of Holtburg, Shoushi, and Yaraq."

Town Crier tells you, "Seems the Arcanum started making those fireplaces just in time. Plenty of people are glad to have a roaring fire in their house to be sure."

Town Crier tells you, "Ok, I'll tell you what I've heard, but don't spread it around, ok? Seems that some people weren't happy just making normal Snowmen last month. They created a bizarre variation of your normal snowman. Somehow these things are alive now and they are pretty unstable. Watch yourself out there."

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard whispers that if the moon is shining at the right time of night, certain beautiful jewelry pieces are endowed with additional enchantments. Or maybe it was only if the sun is directly overhead...or maybe it was...well, you get the point: Magical jewelry will occasionally have multiple enchantments laid upon them. That's all I know."

Town Crier tells you, "It's true Weapons seem to be more magical of late. I've heard tell of weapons with more than four spells on them! You can't believe everything you hear though. I mean four spells? Maybe if it was some sort of ancient magic weapon. They say the same magic surplus is affecting armor too. Something is afoot, mark my words."

Town Crier tells you, "The Senior Guards in Holtburg, Shoushi, and Yaraq have asked me to report all suspicious activity. They must be taking their new positions very seriously."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard some new houses have appeared East and Southeast of Tufa. I love that area. Like living on a giant beach!"

Town Crier tells you, "Fort Witshire was built to defend against the Tumeroks years and years ago, but its maintenance costs were too high. It's lain abandoned ever since-easy shelter for squatters, no doubt."

From The First Strike

Town Crier tells you, "Hear ye, hear ye! The Training Hall outposts of six Nexus towns have fallen to an unprecedented attack! The portals to the Halls have...disappeared! What of the poor Trainers who must still be trapped inside?"

Town Crier tells you, "Environmentalists report that the rabbit population has gone into a sharp decline around the vicinity of a certain hill on the outskirts of Lytlethorpe. Meanwhile, shopkeeps and provisioners are reporting a sharp increase in the sale of carrots. Could these trends be related? I have a theory...it may be...oh nevermind."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard there's a new shoe crafter in Lytelthorpe. Funny thing is...he'll make you one, but not a pair. Odd way to run a business, isn't it?"

Town Crier tells you, "Those awful petrified pastries are back. I believe one of the ingredients, Brown Lumps, are sometimes dropped by Knaths if you can find them. I thought they were hunted to extinction, but people are still making those fossilized festival foods so the Knaths must be hiding somewhere. That or they're the same cakes from last year..."

Town Crier tells you, "The Nexus Town Bowyers Guild has asked me to announce that this month they will be unveiling the latest in missile weaponry...the Atlatl! Thrown weapons experts-get yours while supplies last!"

Town Crier tells you, "The Barkeeps are getting into the Festivities and are selling Festival Lights in Zaikhal, Cragstone and Hebian-To."

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen those new-fangled weapons the outpost town shopkeepers are selling?"

Town Crier tells you, "Did you notice those giant Candy Sticks in town? I guess some mage got into the Festival Spirit... or perhaps just spirits! Anyway they cast all sorts of useful buffs on players, if you can get their attention."

Town Crier tells you, "It seems that winter is almost here. The snows are returning. Let's just hope we don't get as much as we did two seasons ago with the whole Frore problem."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard William Witty finally built himself a little cottage in Lytelthorpe. For a while I thought he'd never settle down! Always dashing here, dashing there... If I had a pair of slippers like his, why, I'd always keep moving too."

Town Crier tells you, "Ugh, my cousin sent me another one of those horrible Fruitcakes again for the Winter Festival. I guess I can use it for a doorstop or something."

Town Crier tells you, "Giant Snowmen in the world are said to be selling instructions on how to make a little Snowman."

Town Crier tells you, "Our Queen has dispatched members of her own Guard to build and fortify Training Academies in the outposts of Holtburg, Shoushi, and Yaraq. These guards have been specially charged to train new arrivals in these uncertain times."

Town Crier tells you, "Increasing portal disturbances have continued to threaten the 18 arrival points from Ispar. What...or who could be causing them?"

Town Crier tells you, "The Arcanum has enchanted a perimeter of Obelisks around the safest boundaries of Holtburg, Yaraq and Shoushi. New arrivals are to be warned that venturing past these markers will lead them to uncertain and more dangerous territories."

Town Crier tells you, "Been getting chilly lately. If you need some wood to keep warm or if you'd just like a Festival decoration, I hear there are two Woodsmen that have set up shops outside of Holtburg and Glendenwood."

From The Gathering Storm

Town Crier tells you, "There are strange disruptions in Portal space near the Arrival points. We can only hope the Queen responds quickly."

Town Crier tells you, "The purple haze in the sky seems to have disappeared. It will be nice to look upon the clear night sky."

Town Crier tells you, "He and that ugly dabus. There are 49 other places he could put it, but no, he wants it right in the main room, where we entertain our guests! Even worse, every time he sees it he launches into the same story about the drudge, the mosswart, and the monougat, and how the whole thing ended up with him acquiring the dabus. That dabus and that story are soon going to be hidden from public view, I can tell you that."

Town Crier tells you, "I was talking with some of my fellow Criers the other day about this whole Marae Lassel business. We're thinking of "taking a vacation" next month until our pay equals theirs. We need to get organized!"

Town Crier tells you, "Grouping up is a great way to encounter the wilds of Dereth!"

Town Crier tells you, "New portals everywhere! We're laying the infrastructure down for a glorious era of trade and prosperity."

"Yesterday, I placed my dabus in my house. It is a fine dabus. My wife doesn't like it, though. She wishes for me to take it down. But it's my dabus and I like it."

Town Crier tells you, "I think Ill go ahead and buy myself some furniture... But first, I suppose, I have to figure out what it is those Arcanum agents want. They're so picky about what they'll take!"

Town Crier tells you, "Those new regalia masks sure are impressive..."

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin the alchemist is much more in demand with his monarchy now that hes learned how to make those handy trade elixirs!"

Town Crier tells you, "Have you tried one of those tasty candy bars? Chocolate and a scrumptious gooey filling!"

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin the archmage got himself a new Ursuin mask! I've never seen him looking so shaggy!"

Town Crier tells you, "I hate this time of year. I always get pumpkin stains on my robe..."

Town Crier tells you, "Hey, the seasons are turning again! You can tell, among other things, by the thickness of the coats that trappers are taking off Ursuins."

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin the staff warrior is very happy with his new weapon..."

Town Crier tells you, "News! Some intrepid warriors have managed to defeat Tumerok forces and taken their banners! The Tumeroks apparently use these banners to organize their forces..."

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin the archmage says he's "reached the next level" on his spell research. What is that supposed to mean?"

Town Crier tells you, "My cousin the archmage spends a lot less time shopping now, and a lot more time working off spells that monsters cast on him! No, wait, he spends less time doing that, too. What does he do all day?!?"

Town Crier tells you, "Everyone should go to Monty's Den of Iniquity and take a turn at spinning the wheel! Yes, Monty paid me to say that. I feel so ashamed."

Town Crier tells you, "That's it, the night sky definitely looks strange. Looks more... purple. What does purple remind me of?"

Town Crier tells you, "Somebody showed me that last letter from Candeth Martine. Most disturbing thing I've read in quite some time."

Town Crier tells you, "I heard that the archmage Hasina bint Rira found an odd puzzle box in the desert. The Arcanum at Zaikhal couldn't figure out how it worked. If you want to see it, you may want to seek Hasina - she wanders around the A'mun."

Town Crier rolls her eyes.

Town Crier tells you, "The master archmages Celdiseth, Fadsahil al-Tashbi, and Shoyanen Kenchu have finally managed to replicate the Empyrean feat of casting permenant portals! Well, in a way. The reclusive masters are now selling portal summoning gems to the nine arrival-nexus towns, as well as their own doorsteps. These artifacts are quite pricy, though!"

The Hopeslayer is reported to have spells capable of shredding the mortal form into scraps of flesh. He is also protected by skirls of fiendish black mist that melt the flesh from all who encounter them."
