We were all surprised when the beacon failed
to warn us of the Olthoi assault. Perhaps if it had not failed, we would not
have lost so many able warriors. But then again, perhaps we never would have
discovered the magics which have so magnificently augmented the strength of
our warriors. I have entrusted Elena du Furza with maintenance of the
beacon. But the task appears to be too difficult for the lowly mage. If you
find this note, speak with her and see what aid you can offer. You can find
