Pet Penguin!
Thanks to Flandamier of LC, Dakmor Kavu of HG, Joxer T Mighty of SC,
Shen-Mara
Flandamier reports: "Hello Maggie! The Mr. P quest is a nice little
quest that will net you your very own pet penguin to follow you around!
To start the quest you will need to head to Freehold. You can get there by
taking the south passageway in umbrall halls. The portal is the last one on
the right. QUEST TIP: Tie to the Freehold portal as you will be making a
number of trips back here.
From the drop head directly east about .4 clicks and you will see Mr.P there
(72.8S x 93.0E) basking in the sun.
Click on him and he will give you an empty candy wrapper.
|
 |
Marked Candy Wrapper |
A crumpled and re-flattened candy wrapper. Marked on tthe
inside, in black ink, is a penguin footprint. Mr. P gave this to you, to
give to Larinne Kerendova, the Pet Store Manager, in exchange for some
'proper' penguin food.

Mr. P reaches into his
"P-pocket" and pulls out a small piece of candy. His eyes light up at the
sight of it and he quickly tosses it into his mouth.
Mr. P leans back and continues to enjoy his sweet treat when he realizes he
is being watched.
Feeling a little embarrassed Mr. P puffs up his belly and squints at you.
You feel as if this strange little penguin is judging you. After a few
awkward moments he picks up an old candy wrapper from the ground, smoothes
it out a bit and hands it to you.
Mr. P gives you Marked Candy Wrapper.
Mr. P sits back again and hums to himself while rubbing his tummy.
Take this to
Larinne Kerendova (the petshop owner) out of Holtburg (35.2N x 39.3E) and
hand it to her. She will give you a bag of candy.
You give Larinne
Kerendova Marked Candy Wrapper.
Larinne Kerendova tells you, "What's this? Ahh, Mr. P
is looking for more penguin treats. Very well, here you go."
Larinne Kerendova gives you Small Sack of Penguin
Treats.
Larinne Kerendova tells you, "What? How do I know
that? It says so right here, see?"
Larinne Kerendova points at the paw-print, and then at
the placement of the toes.

Go back to Freehold and
give the candy to Mr.P.
You give Mr. P Small
Sack of Penguin Treats.
Mr. P is sitting outside nibbling on cookies when you hand him the Small
Sack of Penguin Treats.
Mr. P sniffs at the sack and can smell the pengy food. Mr. P sticks his
tongue out at it but knows that a proper diet is best for young pengys. Mr.
P nods at you for a job well done.
Mr.P will now hand you an igloo shaped cookie.
Mr. P continues to nibble on
his cookie a bit then hands it to you.
Mr. P gives you Partially-eaten Cookie.
Odd, it's shaped like an igloo... Maybe you should look for a mechanic who
knows a thing or two about igloos.
|
 |
Partially-eaten Cookie |
A chocolate chip cookie that has been nibbled into the
vague shape of an igloo. Mr. P gave you this to exchange for a Portable

Take this to Frost Haven
(Snowman Village) and hand it to Elijah. You can reach Frost Haven by going
to Qalabar and taking the Oasis Settlement Portal located at 74.8S X 17.8E.
You'll exit at 66.4S x 21.8E and from there you run to Frost Haven at 68.6S
x 25.4E.
You give Elijah
Partially-eaten Cookie.
Elijah tells you, "No thanks, I'm not hungr... Oh,
wait! This is not so much food as a request from that odd little penguin for
a Portable Igloo!"
Elijah tells you, "Did he come to his senses and finally decide it's too hot
in the south, with the sand and the sun and the Oy this place is so very
hot?"
Elijah gives you Portable Igloo.
Elijah tells you, "You better get this to him quickly,
before he melts."
Elijah tells you, "Hmmm... Do penguins melt?"
Elijah will hand you back a small white igloo in which you go back to (you
guessed it) Mr. P in Freehold. This time Mr.P keeps it but draw you a map in
the sand and points out the coords. The easiest way to get there is to run
from the PoTB portal. Trying to run from Sanamar will only get you
frustrated as the water barriers keep you from reaching your location.

Mr. P inspects your Portable Igloo and nods. Mr. P has never been fond of
igloos but understands that not all pengys like the warm weather like he
does.
Mr. P has one final important task for you. He has received news that a
pengy rookery has been overrun by mean old Eaters. Mr. P wants you to help
save the pengy population and rescue an egg.
Mr. P draws a small but highly detailed map of the Halatean Isles in the
sand, pointing out a location that seems to be at 80.8N, 57.4W.

kill it, click on the egg nest again and you will get an egg. Take the egg
back to Mr. P and he will hand you a white igloo along with 236K in

like that. Hope that helps, love ur site:)
New Quest - Tachi of Grace!
Hi
Maggie, Fzzt from FF here, Did the follow up Tanada Clan quest that links to
last months series for the schools. The end result was a pretty decent
looking Tachi of Grace; however, being a mage, I am not able to wield it,
but it's ivoryable, so at least good for a trophy.
Here's my write up and I've included some pictures:
To make the quest go easier I suggest finding a crater portal, a couple of
yanshi & shoushi portal gems.
Talk to Sayuji Jina (33.3S 72.8E) in Shoushi
Sayuji Jina tells you, "You've already aided me once,
for which I thank you. I would ask you to aid me a second time."
Sayuji Jina writes out a note, and then places
the Enlightened Master's Medallion into the letter and seals it.
Sayuji Jina tells you, "Take this missive to Ookami Kiri, in Yanshi. She may
have additional work for you, once she reads this."
Sayuji Jina gives you Folded Missive

Head to Yanshi, upstairs of the bar you will find Ookami Kiri
Ookami Kiri tells you, "You are one of the ones aiding
my friend Sayuji Jina-san. Does your task progress well?
Hand her the missive
Ookami Kiri takes the note with a polite bow,
and then reads over it quickly.
Ookami Kiri tells you, "It seems, looking at this medallion, that Sayuji
Jina-san's fears have born fruit. My Mistress feared that this may have been
the case, and has left me with a course of action, which I will now pass on
to you."
Ookami Kiri tells you, "There is an Enlightened Master of the Tanada Clan,
one who came to Dereth in the beginnings of the Portals appearing in Sho
lands. My Mistress has left me with a message to send to him, to seek his
aid should Jina-san's fears prove true. If this corruption upon the Tanada
Clan of the Nanjou Shou-Jen be a recent one, which it does seem to be, then
he may be free of it still."
Ookami Kiri tells you, "Take this letter to the Tanada training school,
hidden at 66.3N, 7.6E, and deliver it to Master Seijuro. Be warned, however,
that the students of this school will not take kindly to your arrival, and
you will need to prove your worth to meet the Master Seijuro, much as you
did in gaining this medallion for Jina-san."
"Ookami Kiri gives you A Formal Request"
Shortest path I found was to grab a Crater portal and take the Shaky Ledge
Cottages Portal (66.4N,14.3E) which exits at 62.5N, 8.3E. Then it's just a
short run to the NW. There is an underground portal, level 80 requirement at
66.3N, 7.6E.
Once inside the dungeon, it is exactly the same as the previous Tanada
quests. Run ahead to the 'T', to the left is the altar & portal, to the
right is a linear path to each Master. One each; Master of Earth, Master of
Stone, Master of Metal, Grab the Medallion off their corpse (1 per corpse)
and retrace your path back to altar. Give the altar the medallion for access
to the next dungeons portal which is at the altar.
You give Tanada Shrine of Earth Medallion of Earth.
Though the Shrine of Earth does not move or change in any appreciable way,
you can almost feel its approval as you present it with the medallion that
once belonged to the Master of Earth.

Rinse & repeat to get to final dungeon.
In the final dungeon its just a straight shot to Master Seijuro; however,
you will have to fight a mix of students on the way there. The Master
Seijuro is a level 275 non-combat NPC. Hand him the Formal Request
You give Master Seijuro A Formal Bequest.
As Master Seijuro reads the letter, a look of mild
surprise passes over his face.
Master Seijuro tells you, "Well, I honestly never
thought I'd see a letter in this handwriting ever again..."
Master Seijuro tells you, "It's been years since the battle at Yanshi, and
she's been gone ever since. Now, she resurfaces, with such dire words,
requesting my help..."
Master Seijuro tells you, "Were these words to have come from any but the
one who sent you, I'd have killed you on the spot for such an accusation.
But, I owe her my life, and I trust her judgment."
Master Seijuro tells you, "Here, Take this token to the one who sent you.
She will know what it means, and will know how to respond to it. Consider it
my final test of you, to ensure that this letter is real. If this letter is
a fake, and your Mistress is not whom I think it is, then you will know the
wrath of the Tanada Clan. Now, go."
Master Seijuro gives you Medallion of the Sword.

Seijuro has sent? Very well, I will get it to my Mistress with all haste.
Thank you for your assistance in this. It is greatly appreciated."
Ookami Kiri tells you, "Here, take this letter to Sayuji Jina, in Shoushi. I
believe she has a reward for you, for all that you have done to aid us."
Ookami Kiri gives you Sealed Missive.
Now head back to Shoushi and see Sayuji Jina, hand her the Sealed Missive
You give Sayuji Jina Sealed Missive
Sayuji Jina reads the letter from Ookami Kiri, a barely noticeable smile
forming on her face as she does so.
Sayuji Jina gives you Tachi of Grace.
Sayuji Jina tells you, "Ookami Kiri speaks well of
your aid to both her and my Mistress. For this I thank you, and would like

New Quest - In Search of Asheron!
Thanks to Trinstar, Frieze, My Very Own Flag Jr of LC!
Kalazar of SC reports:
"Hi Maggie! Kalazar of SC reporting on the ISO Asheron quest:
Talk to Shan Zhan of Cragstone, near the blacksmith. Then go to Holtburg
settlements and to the New Coiler Mine (40.3N 35.1E). Once in it's a short
run to 67.4N 30.5E. After talking to him, go back to Shan Zhan in Cragstone
and get Vault notes. Then back to holt and to the settlement portals again
and this time in the West Holtburg Villas. Then run to 52.5 N, 38.9 E and in
the Realaidain Eastern Vault. I ran straight and found a House Golem. I then
went to the back of the dungeon, killed Karkuul the Defiler, and looted the
imbued pyreal mote. Then took it back to the House Golem to gain his trust.
He then gave me a note on the Ancient Necklaces. Choose the necklace West
South West and says Crown studded with emeralds.
You should then get House Golem tells you, "That is not for me, human, but I
sense that you have chosen the correct necklace." I went back to the
Servitor(The holtburg new Coiler then to 67.4N 30.5E) and gave him the
necklace. He then told me to get him a ring. Go talk to Shan Zhan again to
get another note. He then sent me to 75.7N 3.7E. I went to Holtburg, then
used the Neydisia castle portal and ran there. Talk to the House Golem
again, then run through, kill Vizidh the Despoiler, loot the imbued pyreal
mote (blue) and take it back to the house Golem. This time pick up the Ring
Crest Emblem: Sword ringed in purple fire with amethyst shards. Give it to
the house golem, he will tell you again it's not for him, but is correct.
Run back to the Servitor once again and give him this ring.
Run back to Shan Zhan and get the last note. He then sends you to go fetch a
goblet at the Realaidain Western Vault (58.0N 20.8W) from Stonehold. Talk to
the house golem run to the end and kill the final boss, loot the imbued
mote, give it back to the house golem. Grab the Goblet Brim Decor,
Alternating diamonds and engraved leaves. Give it to the house golem, then
for the last time take it to the servitor. The servitor then gives you a 6
page book of lore and you can then give it to Shan Zhan for some xp. Hope
you enjoyed it!"

Asheron's Departure Journal
Quest Update - Dagger of Tikola!
Hile Troy of HG reports: "Hey Maggie, I couldn't
beleive it myself, what I've found. I'm not some big quester like Paraduck,
I just had a feeling. I went over to Lady Folthid's estate, and ran the
dagger of Tikola quest. At the bottom in the chest, I found noo only the
Dull Dagger, but an "Ancient Shard of Metal".
I researched a little, and apparently you could turn it in to the
groundskeeper for a small exp bonus. I turned it in, and unfortunately, I
don't have the exact words she used, but I do know she talked of her own
research on the Fatalacot and her research on the whereabouts of Asheron.
She gave me a note:
"To create this portal, it will be of the utmost importance for the sit
to be aerated properly. A simple square will not do, as the equidistant
sides will diffuse the power. There needs to be a clear "direction of
power". so to speak.
Perhaps the golden ratio would suit. The spiral which ma be derived from it
occurs in certain magical creatures, most notably the niffis. A rectangle
formed using this ratio may be the best base to work from, especially if the
ley lines underneath were to match the internal divisions of it.
The golden ration is, of course, approximately 1.62804498874878482028683.
That should be sufficient accurate for my purposes. And it would be a good
number to use to encode the other message I must concern myself as well.
Note: The Mountain Sewer may be a good place to conduct further research and
attempt to create he gems for these purposes."
I was stoked when I got this, of course, I checked you site to where the
mountain sewer was: Outside of TouTou. I head in there and after wandering
around (take a lot of rights), I came across a set of three interconnected
rooms, and in one of the corners was a pile of portal gems. I picked one up.
It has a 13 day timer for pickup.
The gem has an empyrean inscription on it, so my next step is to take it to
Harlune. Thanks for reading, I hope this helps."
Update: "I hit the mite maze, and Harlune
wouldn't take the gem. I went next to Bretself the Translator, and he
surprised me with this:
You give Bretself the Translator Inscribed Purple Gem.
You are now level 28!
You have 258,475 experience points and 0 skill credits available to raise
skills and attributes.
You will earn another skill credit at level 29.
You've earned 248,042 experience.
Bretself the Translator tells you, "I am surprised I
have been seeing these in circulation. Can you keep a secret?"
Bretself the Translator tells you, "At one point a few years ago, I was
honored to receive a letter from Asheron himself, through Scholar Antius
Blackmoor. I was flattered to have received it, but what he asked me was
unusual."
Bretself the Translator tells you, "He wished that I would watch out for
anyone bearing these gems. If the person seemed powerful enough that they
might know how to use them, I am to plead ignorance. I do not think you are,
however."
Bretself the Translator gives you Letter to Bretself
the Translator.
Bretself the Translator gives you Trade Note (10,000).
Bretself the Translator tells you, "Therefore,
I shall tell you - they are from a hidden cache that Asheron stored in the
mountains, for use in portal creation. I am not certain precisely where he
intended to open a portal to, but the gems were to be a power source. The
inscription reads, simply, "Property of Asheron Realaidain," nothing more."
Bretself the Translator tells you, "I shall share with you the letter I
received. Perhaps it will tell you more about the gem and its uses. I'll
also give you this trade note as payment for the gem - I am supposed to
retain them, but I can at least offer you fair market value for them."
He took it, as you can see. The note he gave me was three pages long:
To the esteemed scholar Bretself,
It may come as a shock to receive a letter from the very subject you study,
but you have become renowned for your studies upon my people. In a less
tempestuous time, I would be delighted to sit down with you and speak of my
past and what I know of history, as I still consider myself a teacher even
after all that has happened. However, I instead find myself needing to
request something of you.
Those who have come here from your home have proven to be adept in exploring
the ruins of my people. I do not hold this against them, for my people no
longer occupy these places and they can learn much from the artifacts of the
past. There is one item in particular I would ask you to watch for, however.
I have stored a cache of gems that I use for my portal research in the place
known as the Mountain Sewer by your people. It is an old complex which
predates my time.
I would appreciate if you, as a known researcher of my people, would watch
for these gems. They are violet, and bear my name. They may be mistaken as
artifacts of the past time, but in fact I am using them for present
research. If people should bring you these gems, please appraise them
closely. If you find that they may be powerful enough to attempt to use
these gems, please ensure that they do not become aware as to their
potential - simply claim the gems. You may disclose the truth about the gems
to others as you see fit. Periodically a golem shall come to collect your
gems and return them to the cache. I shall have to activate some new golems
to facilitate this and other tasks I must do, and so will find myself
traveling to the halls of a friend of my father to enable that.
The reason I ask you to warn people against using the gems is that most
of these gems will not work properly. Only a gem whose energy is expended in
a certain frequency - what scholars acknowledge as the base of the natural
logarithm, approximately 2.71828182845904523536028747 - is useful for my
purposes. This can be distinguished by its steady pulse, whereas most will
pulse with increasing pauses between each pulse. Gems meeting this
specification are hard to construct, and so I have ended up with many flawed
works that should never be used for any purpose.
I offer my sincere thanks.
Written be Asheron himself, of course. I have a feeling this isn't the end
to the quest, there has to be something more. I hope I've helped out, will
look for more.
Cont.:
"I did it. It was easily the best quest I've done in awhile ;)
After I got the two notes, one from Fredusca the other from the Translator,
I was stuck. Thinking that the rumor of Metos was entirely seperate, I went
to Ayan and to the Metos there. I found a carved pyreal note. Afterwards, I
went to the Tufa Metos, and found a golem! It wasn't charged, and needed the
second 'battery' (carved mote) to work again.
After retrieving it from Wei Jhou Metos, he gave me the final note. This
note stated that I needed these three letters by Asheron to enter the portal
to Bur (The Burun homeworld). The portal will probably be opened during a
scheduled live event. Love your site of course ;)"
