Pack Scold!!
Airmail of WE reports: "Hi Maggie, long time fan of your site. just wanted
to give you a pic of the golem that was available at the live event. I was
lucky enough to get the kill on the golem, and he dropped 1 present. When
you use the present, it turns into a Pack Scold! The boss had around 460K Hp
and took forever to kill, as well as being extremely difficult to debuff as
well. Well, hope this helps you out. :)"

Ooni reports: "Hi Maggie, We encountered a big snowman at frost haven that
had something like 400k health. After killing it, more scold golems spawned.
Then after killing that, there were smaller version of the scold golems. We
got a gift pack from the big snowman and a fire element from the scolds.
After combining that, we got a present box. Then we opened the box and
people had various items. I got the pack scold. I've attached a screenshot
of it in with my toon next to it in an ancient relic suit."

Abominable Pack Snowman!!
Kalazar of SC reports: "Live event here on SC, as we killed an abominable
snowman and got a present, inside mine was this pack snowman."

Hello! Solclaim was host to a live event today at Frost Haven. The town was
under attack by an Abominable Snowman with 40,000hp. After he was defeated
his corpse contained many many frozen presents. Soon after his defeat, Scold
appeared and the scold lump corpses contained a Hot Coal which you could use
to melt the present and then open it.
I received the Mr. P. Holiday Pack doll as attached screenshots depict. It's
a Mr. P. pack doll with a holiday stocking on his head. It is animated so
what when you use it, he jumps and spins around. I heard of several other
presents including Abominable Snowman pack doll, Scold pack doll, and more.

The Report From MT!
Dunedan of MT reports: "Hello Maggie, love your site! A global went up about
an attack on Frost Haven. Once we arrived it was under attack by a level
125, 400k hp abominable snowman. The snowman dropped gift boxes, more than
enough to give to everyone at the event. Once he died Scold appeared and
once he died a bunch of lil scolds appeared. They dropped hot coals which,
when combined with the gift box, created a present that gave a random gift.
I received a Pet Snowman and William the Bat (my fearless leader) received a
Pack Scold. I do not know what other gifts were received other than those
2."

The Report from HG!
We were stood around with our pets (OMG PET PENGUIN!) watching Bulldozer
approach max level, and saw a global from the Mayor of Frost Haven, saying
it was being attacked. Once he'd had his fireworks, we split into two
groups, one doing Bobo and one going to Frost Haven. I went to Frost Haven,
did the Live Event and caught up with the Bobo gang in the waterfall. :)
When I arrived, there was one heck of an Abominable Snowman in town, Sam was
down and a Two-Headed Snowman was throwing snowballs in. I was unbuffed, so
it was just the Abom by the time I joined in. The small pack of players who
knew the way were piling into him well enough but it was tough going, so I
piled the VII-debuffs on him, UA, magic skills, attributes and all, and he
eventually went down.
All the fighting summoned Scold down from his mountain, so we took him out
... and he broke into three Scold Chunks, so we fought them and each broke
into Scold Lumps. From the Scold Lumps we got a Hot Coal each, and from the
Abom corpse we got a frozen present each. The coal melted the present's ice
and we all opened our own rather than giving them to loved ones. Various
items were received, including one Holiday Hearth for me.

No pic of the Hearth on a hook, as I have no home and I've given it to
Tilton now, but doubtless there'll be some coming.

Live From Leafcull!
Hi Maggie!
Leafcull reporting in from its live event. An abominable snowman attacked
Frost Haven and on it had lots of several presents that were frozen. Just
then Scold popped down from the mountaintop and we killed him along with all
his minions. On the minions were a bunch of coals. Use the coals on the
presents to melt them and then open them up to reveal a prize.
As of now we know of 6 different presents that are available and all are
random. The Holiday Hearth, Holiday Feast, Dollhouse, Pack Scold, Snowmaker,
and Holiday Lights. The Holiday Lights are ENORMOUS and will cover an entire
side of a wall. I am including several pics with more to come soon.
On a side note, if you are unlucky enough to NOT get a present from the
Abominable snowman, make sure you get a coal from the little scolds. You can
turn it into the mayor and still get a present. :)

Flandamier sends this update: "Maggie, Update out of Leafcull - While doing
the pet penguin quest, one of our monarchy members stumbled upon another
attack at Frost Haven. We noted the time and had a mule sit there to see if
another attack would occur. Lo' and behold another one happened 3 hours
later and again 3 hours after that. The times that were noted were: 12:15PM
- 3:15PM - 6:15PM EST here on Leafcull. There are no globals that go out to
inform anyone that the town is under attack so if you happen to be there
when one occurs, call for help quick! Credit goes to Dipali for this
information.
Correction: the spawn is either 3 or 4 hours for the abominable snowman. Had
one spawn at 9:15AM and then again at 1:15PM on Leafcull."
Santa Sclavus!
Nickolie II of FF reports: "When I was going thru the sub, at the start,
there was a Santa scalvus. I was the first one to see him there, and soon
after more people came. He told us to get in a line, and gave us gifts. Some
of us got coal, but I got a velveteen olthoi :D I think he was in some towns
too."

Today Leafcull got an unexpected visitor. A Santa Sclavis. He went from town
to town and gave everybody a present. I got the Holiday Hearth =)

Orb of Eternal Frost!
Hi Maggie! I love your site!
Ran across this item and couldn't find it on your site so I figured I'd send
you an update.
A "special" Abominable Snowman is spawning in Frost Haven every four hours
this month (December 2006, Cold Tracks). He has 400k hit points and is a bit
tougher than his standard Abominable Snowmen brethren that wander the
landscape. I ran up to him fully buffed and baned and he killed me in two
hits before I could even attempt to heal. He drops a LOT of frozen gift
boxes and his corpse stays around a bit longer than a usual critter corpse.
About 20 seconds after he dies a Scold (I think that's its name) magma golem
spawns and drops a lot of hot coals that you use to thaw the frozen gift
boxes and claim your prize. There is a 24 hour timer on looting the frozen
gift box.
Attached are some screenshots of the prize I got. The first one is of me
holding the orb and the second is the orb's stats. This little orb can fire
snowballs very quickly.

(on Leafcull). Shoots a poofy snowball - one per cast. Great fun!

A Report from FF!
The snowman thing happened in FF, and there seemed to be a ton of people
from 1 guild there. I ended up getting all 7 things from it, and they look
pretty cool (especially the pack scold/snowman.) I hope this helps.

Holiday Feast for the T'ing Dynasty!
Long time user, first time contributor.
The festivities at Frost Haven have become a great little quest. With very
little effort (A portal tie) even your greenest character can get a present.
Wait til Scold is killed, and then when all is safe you can loot the Coals
from the corpse, and turn it in to the Mayor of Frost Haven and he will give
you a present. If you can hold the corpse and share there are plenty of
coals for everyone.
I got the Holiday Feast for the T'ing Dynasty, and here's a shot of one of
the cousins (Crazy T'ing) at the dinner table.
Fantastic job on the site. It is my first stop when I need information.
