Grael Appears!
Bashido Kenshin of MT reports: "At 4:30 pm EST (July 27, 2005) Grael attacked Nanto. He is apparently invulnerable. I have pics of it and a shadow vortex that spawns with him. There is a Makkar that spawns after he leaves that drops eyes, but not nearly enough to go around."

Hello, Maggie!

Grael attacked Baishi on Frostfell earlier today (July 27, 2006), and boy, is he nasty! I thought you might want a picture of his stats, in case you didn't have them already. I also included a couple raw screenshots. Sorry they aren't too close, but I was just a lowly level 30 swordsman! Anyway, Grael showed up and started wreaking havoc. No one could really damage him, the most I saw him below max hp was 3 points. He summoned Mukkir and shadows a few times, and also summoned a 'Pillar of Fire', a creature considered a crystal, making for a very impressive attack. There was another pillar of shadow that he summoned, but I didn't get a good shot of it. It looked a lot like the shadow storms, but in a vertical column. Anyway, he continued to rip through everyone until he decided he was sated, then left.

Way to keep up the site,
Saile Litestrider, Level 58 Frostfell Mage

The townsfolk of Baishi cry for assistance! Grael has …
A deep and ancient voice seems to come from the ground as it shudders.
"I have come for your lives. Be joyous that you will not see what is to become of this world. I will tear its mantle asunder and drink from its black heart!"

Grael says, "I grow tired of these games. I have had my fill!"

Grael's voice booms across the land, "I have eaten my fill of your people for now. Warn the Shining One. I will seek him out and devour his power. I leave you to my children."

Dakmor Kavu of HG reports: "Grael decided to pay us a visit today on HG (July 27, 2006). He spawned in Mayoi and the fight was on! Shadow Eddys, as well as numerous Mukkir, "pillars of fire" and "homing fireballs" were present to do battle. Grael appeared untouchable for more than 2-3 point of damage (with some players even buffing and healing Grael!) Eventually though, he had his fill of us and departed, leaving only a town of bodies in his wake."

Hey there Maggie !

Grael made an appearance at Al-Jalima on Leafcull today (July 27, 2006)around 6:30 EST. When I arrived, I only had to follow the path of half eaten corpses he had left behind. I managed to leave my own bodies amongst the dead, despite being level 200+ ! Grael also spawned a wide variety of shadows and Mukkir, as well as Pillars of Fire which cast war spells from where they 'stood' (they were giant columns of smoke).

After having his fun, Grael then said :

Grael's voice booms across the land, "I have eaten my fill of your people for now. Warn the Shining One. I will seek him out and devour his power. I leave you to my children."

The Makkars dropped an eye, and there was a head dropped as well off another Mukkir. You can only pick up one or the other, and they're on a timer. I've been told you can hand them into the 'deep' on the Dark Isle, but not having access to the island yet I've not been able to determine the reward.

Thanks Maggie !

Swordsman the player of harvestgain here. Today (July 28, 2006) at about 3:10 central Grael came out in Mayoi. He smited everyone left and right. And he is INVULNERABLE; no attacks work and his regen rate is almost immediate regen. After he finally got bored, he spawned the bastard Makkar. After he died, some of us looted an eye, but I got a head from a Panumbric Mukkir earlier in the event so I couldn’t get another for another 7 hours. He also summoned a bunch of homing seeking flameballs that cast cassius's ring of fire when destroyed. He also summoned pillars of fire. Thanks, love the site.

More Grael Reports!

Fenix Reborn reports: "Grael came I think around 11 am est or so (7/31/06). We were not expecting this event, since the others were later in the day.

He greeted us in Nanto with cheap drain spells and the occasional persuasion to join him.

I used a creature rare and at 605 creature, I reliably debuffed him. I debuffed him completely, and people still could not touch him. Nanto drop was devastated with corpses.

After Grael had left, we killed makkar and looted his eye. After the turn-in on the 150+ deep. You get 16 million. Good for the built up vitea."

Hey Maggie, Love the site X) this is pic I gotten of DT's Live event with Grael while dodging Pk's wars and melees (Aug. 2, 2006). Before Grael gave me a nice trip to lifestone with 1 shot and I have 361 hp. I tried casting my War spells on him and none of them landed with almost maxed out skill. Things are little more chaotic in DT when it comes to Events. With Players level 200+ ringing the Drop. and lots of fights among other Allegiances around Grael that just hate each other to the bone =P. BUT, that what makes DT different and more exciting from other servers.

^_~ Pk ya later. ^_~

Asheron's Servant in Eastham

Kalazar of SC reports: "Live event, dealing with Asheron's isle and Grael (Aug. 4, 2006). You need to talk to the Asheron servant in Eastham, then run up to Asheron's base. Go into all 3 shadow mouths and get a blue lite flame. Give it to the flames in the corners of castle. Then return to servant in Eastham. Talk to him and receive 49 mil xp and then go back to Ash's place. Go into the shadow mouths 3 more times each. Getting 9 dark pieces this time. Then give them to the Asheron's Servant in the white tower.

Asheron's Servant tells you, "You have done well. Here is a small reward for your help. Talk to the Guardians reinforcing the Tower's barriers and they will grant you access to the White Tower. I will speak to you further there for unlike you I am not confined to one place at a time."
You've earned 49,539,309 experience.

The 3 items together cast a 10% hp addition. (Like the pre-order aug) and Epic pierce ward, +20% pierce protection. Non stackable with other wards. The 3 jewelry items require 180 lore for the level 7's, 4 on each. BUT they cast the ward/hp bonus without lore req."

Asheron's Island - The Report from Leafcull

Hello Maggie,

A global went out earlier today on Leafcull :

The air resounds with a thunderous boom. A strong wind follows coming from the direction of Eastham. In Eastham a dark cloud can be seen forming over the island to the east of the city.

We then went to Qalab'r for some reason, which I don't know. I just followed the group ! We killed a Makkar there, which was spawned with a few Shadow Eddys and various other baddies. We made way to Eastham, where we found an Asheron's Servant, who asked for a Makkar eye. Just my luck, I happened to have one ! I handed him the eye and he instructed me to go to Asheron's Island using the portal behind him.

After making a grueling run up the mountain to Asheron's House, I died. Then, I went back and died again. On my third trip, I recovered my bodies as well as many of those in my allegiance who fell beside me. There are 3 Shadow Mouth's which you have to enter. Journey to the bottom to kill the Mukkir General. Small balls of light will spawn on the ground as well as 'shadow anchors' or something to that effect. Pick up the light only, then jump off the edge into the abyss to be portalled back up top. On the 3 corners of Asheron's house are lamps which you have to light. One ball of flame will light ONE lamp. Therefore you have to repeat this process for the other two shadow mouths.

Once this was done, we returned to Eastham and spoke to the Asheron's Servant again. He granted us access to the white tower, where Asheron usually overlooks all us folks on Dereth. When we returned to the Castle, we spoke to the Guardian (level 710 Golem) and he portalled us inside. To leave, you can speak to the Guardian again. Then, speaking to the Asheron's Servant (who is in BOTH places), he granted us permission to pick up the Shadow Anchor things which we came across in the first run through the Shadow Mouths. Go back, repeat the previous process of killing the Mukkir General, and you can pick up one of the anchors. Get all 3, then return them to the Servant for a Pendant of Carraida, which cats a few life spells on you. The Servant implies that there are 3 of these items, and that together they are very powerful. This is just the first piece.

You can also return the item for XP I believe. Note : The makkar eye and talking to the Asheron's Servant after lighting the lamps, will yield XP. I received about 13million and 49 million respectively at level 206.

Inside Asheron's Inner Sanctum, which is a portal which you must walk through inside his tower, there is a library. There is a note on the table as well saying that he's gone, but he's sure nothing will happen while he's away. He picked a good time to go on a vacation!

To recap :

1) Retrieve a Makkar eye and give to the Asheron's Servant, east of Eastham near the LS and the windmill at 17.8N 64.3E.(might be optional, not sure)
2)Run up to Asheron's castle
3)Go into each of the Shadow Mouths and kill the general. Loot the flame.
4)Light all 3 of the lamps, accessible from the ramparts.
5)Return to the Servant in Eastham and talk to him
6)Speak to the Guardian in the Castle after returning to Asheron's Island
7)Speak to the Servant inside of the Tower
8)Return to the Shadow Mouths, kill the general, loot the anchors
9)Return the anchors to the Servant for a reward

Love the site Maggie, keep it up !
