Although Clan EpiK has persisted in
characterizing this page of opinion as a "hate site," their
intimidating tactics do not dissuade me from stating my opinions
publicly. I believe it's important to protect original content and vital
to the health of the AC Community to do so.
My conflict with EpiK has always
been about simple things. As simple as this: EpiK copied a huge amount
of content from my site and balked, every step of the way, at removing
it.
But EpiK doesn't want the problem to be
seen in such stark terms. When people get caught doing something
they're not supposed to do, they want to talk about everything except
what they did: what he said, what she said, this is true, that's not
true. They want to point fingers in every possible direction, except at
themselves. They want to make it a long and complicated story, when
really it's quite a simple story.
I am personally disgusted by the lengths
Clan EpiK has gone to avoid any responsibility for their unethical
behavior. I consider their actions to show the greatest disrespect not
just to me, but to the rest of the AC Community. From the letters I
received, I know there are many honorable members of EpiK who were just
as appalled at their behavior; it's a true shame they got caught in the
crossfire. I'd like to tell these fine people that I appreciate your
letters and was comforted by your support. Thank you.
It's a shame also, that all the
contributors to my site, and particularly to the quest section, were
treated so disrespectfully by EpiK. I'd just like to take this
opportunity to mention by name all my quest section contributors and to
thank you from the bottom of my heart. Because without you, my site
would just be another copy-cat dime-a-dozen rewrite of other people's
work.
