North Outpost - Drudge Crypt
The North Al-Arqas Outpost (28.2 S, 13.9 E) is the home of Sarqah bint Ak. It must be exhausting standing in the desert sun day after day! She tells you she's just too tired to do it herself, but she'd love if you could help her with a small task. She'll direct you to a nearby Drudge Crypt where she asks you to bring her back a Drudge Charm from within.

Sarqah bint Ak tells you, "Hello. I have a task that I am just too tired to do myself. There is a crypt near here from which I would like an item."
Sarqah bint Ak tells you, "Yes, you would be great for this task. To the west of here is a crypt in which drudges have taken up residence."
Sarqah bint Ak tells you, "Some drudges are known to carry charms, and I know there is usually one lying around in that crypt. Please get it to me, and I shall help you out."

The Drudge Crypt is located a short run away at 27.8S 12.1E. Usually, there's a Drudge Skulker lurking outside. Inside you'll encounter two more Skulkers and a Slinker. There's a chest in the Crypt, but the Charm is not inside. Instead, it spawns right on the floor. If you're quick, you can run right in and grab the Charm from the floor and run back out without having to fight the Drudges inside.

Bring the Drudge Charm back to Sarqah at the North Outpost for your reward: 3000 xp and a Lazily Scrawled Note. She'll ask you to take the note to Jilsaya bint Dah in Al-Arqas.

You give Sarqah bint Ak Drudge Charm.
Sarqah bint Ak tells you, "Thank you. I turn these in to Collectors for a monetary reward. But I will give you something better."
You've earned 3000 experience.
Sarqah bint Ak gives you Lazily Scrawled Note.
Sarqah bint Ak tells you, "Here is a letter to take to Jilsaya bint Dah in Al-Arqas

Lazily Scrawled Note
Hail,

This adventurer recovered a Drudge Charm for me, and could probably help you find that drink you were looking for.

- Sarqah bint Ak

This note is your entrance ticket to the Abandoned Shops where you'll find a tasty drink, the Distillery Ambrosia!

West Outpost - Knife Collection
Nurbaha bint Dah resides at the West Al-Arqas Outpost (31.3 S, 10.7 E). When you speak with her, she'll tell you a sad tale about her Mother's lost knives, abandoned long ago in a nearby ruin when they were forced to flee from monsters. (For once, at least they weren't stolen by drudges!) She'd like your help recovering one.

Nurbaha bint Dah tells you, "Long ago, on the way to Al-Arqas, my mother and I came upon a ruin and camped there. At night, monsters came upon us, and after holding them off for a while, we fled."
Nurbaha bint Dah tells you, "We left behind my mother's collection of knives, among the first she ever forged. They are not worth very much, but I will help you if you get one for me."
Nurbaha bint Dah tells you, "The Unfinished Temple is to the northwest of here. We fled pretty far into the ruins before we realized we had to leave. I think we were at least two levels down when we lost the knives. Last I was there, I found only one knife."

Map: Unfinished Temple

The Unfinished Temple (30.1S 9.1E) is restricted to Levels 1-20. To find the room with the knife, take the corridor straight ahead from the entrance. Then follow the cat walk around until you see a set of doors. Go through the doors and make a right. Take a right again and head down the stairs. You should see a room with a few wheel barrows and a couple of pick axes on the floor. There will be two Drudge Skulkers guarding the door.

Once you enter the doors, you'll be in a large room with 2 Skulkers, a Russet Rat and a Gnawer Shreth. The chest containing the knife is in a darkened corner of the room. Once you've found the Rusted Knife, head back to the outpost for your reward: 3000 xp and a Hasty Note. Bring the note back to her sister, Jilsaya, in Al-Arqas.

You give Nurbaha bint Dah Rusted Knife.
Nurbaha bint Dah tells you, "That is definitely one of my mother's knives! Thank you."
You've earned 3000 experience.
Nurbaha bint Dah gives you Hasty Note.

Nurbaha bint Dah tells you, "Here is a letter to take to my sister Jilsaya in Al-Arqas. She has a task for you."

Hasty Note
Jilsaya,

This adventurer was able to recover one of mother's knives. You should ask for help acquiring that drink you like so much.

- Nurbaha bint dah

Abandoned Shops
Both starter quests lead you to Jilsaya bint Dah who can be found in Al-Arqas at Hinnabqiq the Jeweler's House of Treasure (31.3S, 13.5E). Like Lord Aleval, Jilsaya is quite fond of her favorite beverage: Distillery Ambrosia. Give her the note you received from either Sarqah bint Ak or her sister, Nurbaha bint Dah, and she'll give you a key which can be used in the Abandoned Shops (32.2S, 12. E). Jilsaya is also the Town Agent for the Exploration Society Letter Quests.

Jilsaya bint Dah tells you, "By the way -- if you haven't yet done so, you might want to visit Sarqah bint Ak at the North Outpost, or Nurbaha bint Dah at the West Outpost. They often have tasks for young adventurers."
You give Jilsaya bint Dah Lazily Scrawled Note [or Hasty Note]
Jilsaya bint Dah tells you, "You have helped Sarqah! Thank you. I have a key that is used in a dungeon just to the southwest of town. It was once a small but active community of Gharu'ndim and Aluvians, before Al-Arqas was founded."
Jilsaya bint Dah gives you Jilsaya's Key.
Jilsaya bint Dah tells you, "The key will let you into a shop where you may find "Distillery Ambrosia." I shall reward you for them. You may also keep whatever else you find there."

Map: Abandoned Shops

The Abandoned Shops (32.2 S, 12.7 E) is restricted to Levels 1-20 and is a great place for lower level players to test their fighting skills. Drudges have taken over the empty stalls in plenty! Skulkers and Slinkers prowl the upper levels and the lower levels are home to both Sneakers and Prowlers. There are several chests scattered about. Be careful! An occasional trap will cast Slowness Other I.

When you enter the Shops, you'll have the choice of going left, right, or straight. Take the left passage and run past the different stalls heading down. At the bottom, make another left and look for a locked door. Use Jilsaya's Key to open the door. On the other side, you'll immediately be attacked by a Skulker and a Sneaker. After dispatching of these, you can easily retrieve the Distillery Ambrosia from the chest.

Past the Ambrosia chest are two short corridors. The one to the left has a chest guarded by a Skulker and a Prowler (watch out for the magic trap). The corridor to the right has a locked gate housing a Red Wasp. Bring your lockpick! There's plenty of other places in the Shops to explore. Bring your Ambrosia back to Jilsaya for your reward!

You give Jilsaya bint Dah Distillery Ambrosia.
Jilsaya bint Dah tells you, "Wonderful! I hear these were originally Empyrean drinks, from elsewhere in Dereth. We had a number of oldtimer Aluvians here for a while, so perhaps one of them brought them. I'd be delighted if there were more such liquids somewhere."
Jilsaya bint Dah gives you 2 Potions of Healing.
Jilsaya bint Dah gives you 250 Pyreals.

Jilsaya bint Dah tells you, "In any case, here is something that should be more useful to you."
You've earned 4000 experience.
