From the Assault event.

Town Crier tells you, "A friend of mine saw this huge, ugly thing floating above Ayan the other day. He said he heard it meow, if you want to believe that."

Town Crier tells you, "The Drudges out West must have gained access to some Intelligence-boosting magic. I had no idea they were capable of such mechanical feats."

To begin the quest speak with Aludi al-Jaladh in Ayan Baqur. He seeks reports of a great beast (the Drudge Flying Machine) flying across the Direlands.

NPC: Aludi al-Jaladh - 66.8S, 88.0W

Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "I have received reports from adventurers that a great beast has been seen flying across the Direlands. They say it is as big as a house and spits fire and acid."
Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "This beast must be investigated and catalogued. Go and seek out this beast and bring back proof of your findings."
Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "The last sighting was south and west of Fort Tethana, along the western coastline of the Direlands."

The Drudge Flying Machine is located in a fort to the west of Fort Tethana. If someone has a tie to Venomous Nidus, you'll be dropped very close by. Otherwise, head to Kara from Shoushi at 33.1S, 73.2E and take the Fort Tethana portal inside the Foundry Statue at 83.3S, 47.1E.

Drudge Flying Machine - 11.9S, 92,9W
--Creatures:
Drudge Ballast, Drudge Laborer, Drudge Toiler

The interior of the fort is swarming with Drudges. Kill them until your group has collected a set of 4 Drudge Keys (one red, black, grey and green). When you have the keys, enter the War Room.

War Room - 12.1S, 92.7W
--Levels: 80+
--Map: War Room
--Creatures:
Drudge Ballast, Drudge Laborer, Drudge Toiler, Drudge Aviator

From the drop, use the black key on the door to the east (resistance 300 - all doors may be lockpicked instead). Keep right until you reach the 2nd locked door (resistance 320). Use the grey key to open it. Keep left until you reach the 3rd door. This time use the red key (resistance 340). Again keep left and use the green key on the final door (resistance 360).

The Aviator spawns above you on a platform near a table. Head through the large room to the west well and take the ramp up. When you reach the ledge, shift-jump over to the Aviator near the exit portal. He's guarded by a group of Drudge Toilers on a fast respawn rate. Kill the Aviator and retrieve the Flying Machine Plans and Flying Machine Instructions from its corpse. When everyone has their copies, take the "escape route" portal. You'll be deposited outside near the Drudge Flying Machine.

--Text: Flying Machine Instructions

Head up the tower inside the fort and give the balloon your flying machine instructions. (Note: do this one at a time.) You'll be sent through the air above Ayan Baqur!

You allow Drudge Flying Machine to examine your Flying Machine Instructions.
Drudge Flying Machine teleports you with Balloon Ride.
Using the instructions you are able to fly the balloon. Unfortunately, the instructions are unclear on several points. The most important point would be how to land.
You jump to safety as the balloon begins to head out to sea.

You'll land near Aludi al-Jaladh. Give him your Flying Maching Plans and you'll be rewarded with an Aviator's Cap and a Trade Note (250,000)!

Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "Any luck spotting the great flying beast?"
Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "The last sighting was south and west of Fort Tethana, along the western coastline of the Direlands."

You give Aludi al-Jaladh Flying Machine Plans.
Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "What is this?"
Aludi al-Jaladh's eyes bulge out as he reads the plans.
Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "I did not know that drudges were capable of building such a thing. I must report this to my superiors."
Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "Here is a reward for your services."

Aludi al-Jaladh gives you Trade Note (250,000).
Aludi al-Jaladh gives you Aviator's Cap.

If you hand him the instructions, you'll receive the following message:

You allow Aludi al-Jaladh to examine your Flying Machine Instructions.
Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "No my friend. Keep this. It may be useful."
