Introduced during Crests of a Turbulent Sea. Updated during A Gathering of Colors.

During the summer of 2001 (Verdantine PY 12), the Virindi forces ramped up their assault on Osteth, along with the aid of their Tumerok allies. Nine Virindi Towers outside the capital cities of Cragstone, Hebian-To and Zaikhal menaced from above, while bands of Tumeroks attacked from the ground.

Armed forces in the three capital cities began to gather to repel the invasion. When a series of attacks on the 6 Tumerok Clans escalated into opened portals and a direct attack on the Towers' Controller Dolls, the Virindi were driven back.

[See the Virindi Towers page in the Crests of the Turbulent Sea for more information.]

The 6 Tumerok Clans have now retreated to Training Camps near Dryreach. Although the Tumeroks still drop the components that make up the different Tumerok Banners, their strength has become uniform. Whereas the Falcon and Serpent Clans used to be the weakest of the clans, with the Gromnie and Mask Clan being strongest, now all 6 clans have the same stats among their members. This means that the 6 different types of clan weapons are now equally difficult to get.

After you collect the different components (a haft, a banner, a weapon top) and combine them into weapons, you may choose to exchange them with one of the three quartermasters for a reward. You can receive experience points, casino gems or Assault Weapons for the various Banners. (See this table for stats and rewards.)

Rumor: A Call to Arms

Speak to one of the 3 recruiters in the capital cities of Cragstone, Hebian-To or Zaikhal. They'll direct you to purchase a rumor which gives the location of the 6 Tumerok Clan Training Camps.

Cragstone - 25.8N, 49.1E

--
Shosa Kiroji Matanui
Hebian-to - 39.0S. 83.2E

Creatures:
Tumerok Standard Bearer
Tumerok Lieutenant
Tumerok Major
Tumerok Commander
Tumerok Controller

Ufet, Prophet of Blades tells you, "Good Day. My name is Ufet, and I am here to organize the defense of Gharu'ndim from the depredations of the renegade Tumeroks."
Ufet, Prophet of Blades tells you, "Queen Elysa has called for volunteers to help investigate the Tumerok training camps near Dryreach. You can pick up a news sheet about this menace from the barkeeper."
Ufet, Prophet of Blades tells you, "If you have already investigated the camps, and you have some trophy to prove it, I will gladly reward you. I also accept Tumerok insignia."

Components:
Tumerok Standard Bearer: Banner
Tumerok Lieutenant: Lesser Haft
Tumerok Major: Greater Haft
Tumerok Commander: Spear-Head or Symbol
Tumerok Controller: Crest

The process for creating the banners is the same in all 6 dungeons. The lower level Tumerok Standard Bearers drop the banner. Next you'll need to attach a haft. There are 2 levels of hafts (determines damage or mana conversion). Lieutenants drop the lower level haft and Majors drop the more powerful haft. To complete the weapon, you have a choice of 3 different tops: a spear-head, a symbol or a crest. Using the Spear Head will give you a Spear! Using a Symbol will give you a Wand! Using a Crest will give you a weapon with a damage of 1. Commanders drop spear-heads and symbols, and the Controllers drop the Crest.

You attach the haft to the banner.
You attach the spearhead to the banner.

You attach the haft to the banner.
You attach the crest to the banner.

You attach the haft to the banner.
You attach the symbol to the banner.

Each dungeon also contains a note (usually spawning on the ground near the end of the dungeon).

Finished Banners may not be given or sold; however, the individual components may be given. Visit the following pages for finished banner details:

Before the Clans retreated to the Training Camps, they were found above ground. Following is information on the early locations of the 6 Clans, provided for historical reference.

Each of the 6 Tumerok Clans can be found in different geographic locations throughout Dereth. Each Clan will have Standard Bearers, Majors, Lieutenants, Commanders and Controllers. The Tumeroks in the lesser Clans are of lower levels than the Tumeroks of the more dangerous clans, even if they are called by the same name: you'll find Tumerok Standard Bearers of Level 15 (for Falcon & Serpent), Level 35 (for Shreth & Reedshark Clans) and Level 45 (for Gromnie & Mask Clan).

Each Tumerok will be grouped with its level counterpart (i.e. Level 15 Standard Bearers will be grouped with a pair of Level 15 Tumerok Workers). The highest level Tumeroks are extremely dangerous. They carry Quiddity Weapons and are strong enough to activate the spells!

Tumerok Tribe Locations:

Falcon: Very widespread in Osteth. They've been seen near Cragstone, Arwic, Eastham, Dryreach, Rithwic, Holtburg. North near Bandit Castle and the Essence of Enchantment, and near Zaikhal, Qalaba'r and Tufa.

Serpent: South of Hebian-to, on the way to the Web Maze from Baishi, as far South as Kara, between Shoushi & Sawato, W of Arwic (heading to GW).

Shreth: North of Zaikhal near the Mountains, Southern Mount Espar, to the North and West of the Essence of Enchantment, North of Holtburg, near Crater, northern Osteth.

Reedshark: Linvak Mountains, near Nanto, Hebian-to and Tou-Tou (south of Tou-Tou before the road forks; it's near the beach.)

Gromnie: Danby's Outpost, Three Towers area, near Lightless Catacombs, near Artifex Vault.

Mask: Southern and SE Dires, Three Tower, between Ayan Baqur and Lightning Vault, near Sylsfear LS, near the drop off point from the North Dires Portal by GW (21.2N 25.9E), by Garaena the Emissary and S Dires Lifestone (88.3S 64.5W).

You give Lieutenant Kenneth Reinforced Shreth Banner with Crest.
You recieve [sic] 12500 experience!
Lieutenant Kenneth gives you Shreth Token.

Lieutenant Kenneth tells you, "Wow, thanks! You really are a hero! Here's a token of my appreciation! The original item I wanted to give as a reward hasn't come yet, but you can hold on to that until then, or you can exchange it with me for a mace."
