Basalt Blade & Obsidian Axe

The Basalt Blade is a trophy from a Basalt Golem, a new Golem introduced in the Keep Your Enemies Closer event. The approximate drop rate for the blade is about one in four.

Basalt Golems can be found in the mid Direlands. Like all the new boss creatures, they can be scarce and difficult to find. Julian's Touch reported his find at 22.1S, 58.7W. Brackish of SC discovered his at 17.2S, 54.1W.

Basalt Golems are usually found with Obisidian Golems. When you kill the Basalt, it may also drop a pyreal nugget in addition to the blade!!

To turn the Unarmed Blade weapon into an Obsidian Axe, give it to a Collector (not a Trophy Smith).

You give Collector Basalt Blade
Collector tells you, "Hrm, this is rather fascinating! Well, I think I can work with this a little... Ah hah! Here you go, I had some left over Golem Jo's one of my shopkeeper friends gave to me. That seems to do the trick."
Collector gives you Obsidian Axe

During the Come What Follows event, Belinda du Loc in Stonehold developed the ability to enhance numerous trophy items. Hand your blade or axe to her and she will return the enhanced version. Original pre-patch weapons cannot be enhanced.
