Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Has that darned white rabbit come through again?  Oh, he's my archnemesis, he is..."

Hi Maggie!

First off I have to apologize. I did not get complete info on this. I was a little busy with several mobs.

On patch day, I was hunting around Teth in the valley just to the south. While I was fighting some critters, I got a message saying something like: " Little rabbit foo foo walking 'round the Dires, picking up the Monarchs and bopping them on the head." Weird huh?

Gunji no kanrei of FF

Yes, it's a grand tradition: memorializing epic battles in song and poetry. Gunji had overheard a tune gloriously extolling the ferociousness of none other than Pookie!

By now everyone probably knows the tale of the White Rabbit. In the olden days, he was fierce, indeed. But as brave warriors grew stronger, conquering the white rabbit was no longer as formidable a task as it once had been. A campaign was begun. Wi -- yes, Wi, of "Wi Flag" fame --  started the movement to "Buff the Bunny!"

Thousands of people responded, eager to take on the challenge. By some strange magics (the Devs humoring us all ;-), the White Rabbit was reborn, even stronger than before; the level 666 beast was christened "Pookie" by the devilmouse himself.

Before players learned of its weaknesses, Pookie would ravage the lands -- sometimes spreading carnage through the entire town of Ayan Baqur, destroying everyone in sight with its deadly bunny smite. No one was safe!

Now, the secret to taming the fuzzy little killer is quite well known. You'll find Pookie in his bone strew cave at 45.6S, 87.0W. The closest ties are Nexus and Panopticon.

Now lean in... listen carefully...

DON'T ID THE BUNNY!!!!!!!!

You'll need a designated runner and some attackers: a group of war mages and archers seems to work best, with some high level creature/life mages to weaken first. Melees can be successful with a lot of help from the mages.

Pookie attacks with Lightning and Piercing (hollow). Your best attack strategy is Fire. Archers use Greater Fire (Elariwood Bows preferred).

When you're ready, have your runner go to the tree to the SW of the cave an ID Pookie. The runner will need to keep the ID panel up continuously and run in circles around the tree while everyone else attacks. Noone else should ID the bunny or he will go all Bunny Smite on you and kick your butts! The runner should also be careful to keep Pookie on radar so it doesn't refocus its attack.

Let me just say this one more time: DON'T ID THE BUNNY!!! (Unless you're the runner, of course!)

Mages cast Fester, Impenetrability, Yield, Imperil, Fire Vulnerability. Because of its insane regen rate, Decrepitude's Grasp (Level VII Fester) is a must. Once the mages have done their work, attack!!

The person who gets the kill will also  get an instant smite by Pookie! (It's suggested that you lifestone nearby -- near the Nexus or Ayan). The White Rabbit drops the super cool looking Orb of the Bunny Booty and a White Rabbit Carcass.

Pookie spawns approximately every 15 minutes, so you can repeat the process until everyone in your group has their prize. If you get two carcasses, you can have them made into slippers by William Witty (see Bunny Slippers quest write-up)!
