Hea Tuperea and his pet reedsharks first made their appearance during the Dark Majesty expansion. Defeating these formidable opponents yields a multitude of rewards, including the Crop pieces, a Pouch of Dried Meat (random), 4 Collars of Fealty, and 2 Virindi Implants!

A rumor to the quest can be purchased in Redspire from Micon Stuvis (introduced during Pillars Made of Sand).

Rumor: Hea Tuperea

The Tumerok can usually be found in the northern part of Marae Lassel. Be careful! Vapors, Observers and Executors are commonly found in the vicinity!

To reach the northern area of the island, take the North Manumet Plains portal from Bluespire at 40.0N, 74.5W (levels 25+).

Visit the Shortcuts page for a list of portals to the island of Marae Lassel.

If you hear this message, you'll know you're getting close! ;-)

Tuperea grins ferally at [Player Name], "Here, my precious hunters! Bring this prey down, and we shall sup upon its flesh."

Hea Tuperea is Level 111 and his four Reedsharks (Reshalra, Sahkurea, Manuaka and Utelari) are Level 73. The reedsharks vary in size, Utelari being the largest.

The smaller two reesharks prove to be easier to defeat than the larger two. Utelari and Sahkurea carry the Virindi Implants which cast the spells Paralyzing Fear and Panic Attack and will reduce your Quickness and Coordination to 10 (these are popular among the PK crowd ;-)!  They also have relatively high melee and magic defense.

Reshalra's death is preceded by a sharp, stabbing pain!
"Reshalra! No!" Tuperea cries as
[Player Name] lands a killing blow on the brutish hunting reedshark.

You run Manuaka through!
Tuperea cries out in dismay as nimble Manuaka falls to [Player Name's] attack!

Sahkurea is fatally punctured!
Huntmaster Tuperea howls in anguish as
[Player Name] releases loyal Sahkurea's soul from the prison of her Virindi-augmented body.

Utelari's eyes flash violet as [Player Name's] spell sides off her.

The thunder of crushing Utelari is follwed by the deafening silence of death!
Virindi-altered Utelari yelps from
[Player Name's] fatal blow! She collapses on her side, never again to bay at the moons.

A better tactic is to kill Hea Tuperea first; all four reedsharks will perish upon his demise. Beware! Hea Tuperae has been known to cast Item Befoulment, a spell which depletes your Item Enchantment to zero! No recall for you!

Tuperea grins ferally at [Player Name], "You are meat."
Tuperea grins ferally at [Player Name], "You are prey."

When Hea Tuperea falls, you can immediately loot all the items from the reedsharks without waiting for the corpses to decay. Hea Tuperea drops the Crop End and Crop Handle, and sometimes a Pouch of Dried Meat -- Yummy! Sharky snacks!

You cleave Hea Tuperea in twain!
Tuperea staggers and falls to his knees. "Ah, my hunters, my precious children. I shall see you again, some day. Take your fill of my mortal flesh, my dears, and may it make you run strong across these fields."

Each of the four Reedsharks carries a Collar of Fealty which casts Fealty VI. Reshalra's Collar additionally has Strength Other VI and Manuaka's Collar has Quickness Other VI.

The larger two Reesharks, Sahkurea and Utelari, carry the Virindi Implants.

Before assembling the Crop, buff your staff skill! There's a 300 skill check (the number at which you will have a 50% chance of success). Like with all skill checks, there an element of chance involved. A skill lower than 300 may be successful, while a skill much higher than 300 always has the chance to fail. One player reported success at 233, and another failure at 395!

You do not need to have Staff specialized to complete the Crop, only trained.

If you fail the skill check, the parts will be destroyed.

You are not familiar enough with staff weapons to fix the crop. The pieces irreparably break.

Note: putting Blood Drinker on the Crop nullifies the Discipline spell.

The parts to the Crop are no-give. The completed Crop may be given, but it can only be used by the person that creates it. There's a one month timer on the Crop.

The Collars of Fealty and the Virindi Implants may be given.

Updated during Pillars Made of Sand.

You give Aun Ngationa Crop.
Aun Ngationa tells you, "Let me try to modify this crop for you. I think that this will work... Here you are!"
Aun Ngationa gives you Barbed Crop.
Aun Ngationa tells you, "If you don't like the results, I can change it back for you."

Crop

A vicious-looking riding crop, made from the skin of an ebon gromnie. This was wielded by the Hea huntmaster Tuperea when disciplining his pack of hunting reedsharks, although it doesn't look to have been used much. There is stitching on the handle which reads, "Crafted from the hide of my first gromnie prey, snared in my first hunt upon the plateau. With this, I am accepted into Aranpuh's new order. Soon we shall return to the Hea xuta in glory." - Tupepuh
