The Crystal Sword is a trophy from a
Sentient Fragment, a special Crystal Fragment introduced in the
Keep Your Enemies Closer
event. The approximate drop rate for
the sword is about one in four. Sentient
Fragments can be found on the Obsidian Plains and in the South Direlands. Like
all the new boss creatures, they can be scarce and difficult to find. (The one
Gunko is fighting in the pic
was located at 70.5S, 77.9W. Danier sent screens with a location of
61.7S, 46.1W. Shobolth found his Sentient Fragment near the Artifex
Vault.) Jukee of TD reports he found a Sentient Fragment up north
near the Creature Essense.
The Sentient Fragment is
normally surrounded by 4 Dual Fragments. It appears to heal more rapidly than the normal Fragments.
In addition to the sword, the Fragment may also drop a Small
Shard!
During the
Come What
Follows event,
Belinda du Loc in Stonehold developed the ability to enhance numerous trophy
items. Hand your sword to her and she will return the enhanced version.
Original pre-patch weapons cannot be enhanced.
