Dansha-Ki's Rescue

If you're a lowbie without Item Magic, Dansha-Ki's Gem of Portal Recall might be handy to have in an emergency situation. It transports you back through the portal you last traveled through, very convenient if you've died in a dungeon un-conveniently located! The attractive ring, with its level III spells, is also a nice prize.

To begin speak to the Weary-looking Man in either Rithwic inside the Skull and Flagon tavern at 10.8N, 59.4E, or in Eastham at 17.5N, 63.4E.

Weary-looking Man tells you, "I have a key you might be interested in."

The Weary-looking Man sells a key to the city of Dryreach, gated for protection against the Tumeroks. He also sells a rumor indicating you should try and help the people inside the town.

Dryreach Rumor
The town of Dryreach is under seige by tumeroks! What are tumeroks doing in this part of the island? The people of the town are holding out for the moment, but they'll sure appreciate any food you can get to them. The gates are locked, so you'll need the Dryreach Key.

Weary-looking Man tells you, "You're pretty foolish if you think you can survive a battle with a Tumerok."

He's right! Low level players will want to avoid this quest. If you're in your high teens or twenties, you'll probably want to bring a little help to fight the numerous Tumeroks you will encounter.

To reach Dryreach, take the Dryreach Beach Manor portal from the Eastham Settlement Portals - 17.5N, 61.5E. You'll exit at 3.9S, 76.3E, just a short run from the front gates of Dryreach - 8.1S, 72.8E. Use your Dryreach Key to open the locked gates (resistance 221) and find Dinsmal the Beggar. Like the Town Criers, Dinsmal will tell you rumors if you give him some pyreal (one pyreal at a time is sufficient).

Dinsmal the Beggar tells you, "Have you heard about the imprisonment of the mage Dansha-Ki? I heard she was carrying some pretty strange spell components. Look for her sister, Yu Vuo-Ki, who can sometimes be found wandering around to the northwest of here."

To save yourself a step, get a Gold Tumerok Insignia before you seek out Yu Vuo-Ki.

You give Dinsmal the Beggar Pyreal.
Dinsmal the Beggar tells you, "Thanks..."
Dinsmal the Beggar tells you, "Not all types of tumeroks carry insignia, you know. For example, mere tumerok warriors and tumerok priests never carry such things."

Gold Tumerok Insignias are dropped by a large number of Tuemeroks (see Trophies), including Tumerok Officers, Tumerok Gladiators, Tumerok High Priests, and even the Tumerok Overlord! Locally, your best bet is a group of Tumeroks outside a small fort at 7.2S, 73.9E. The Officer will eventually drop an Insignia.

After you have your Insignia, head to Yu Vuo-Ki's cottage at 6.6S, 70.7E. Her sister has been captured by Tumeroks and needs rescuing! The insignia will prove to her that you are up to the task!

Yu Vuo-Ki tells you, "Can you help me? My sister went south headed towards Dryreach for some much needed supplies. She has not returned and I fear the Tumeroks may have captured her again. Kind soul, can you help find her for me? I'm really worried for her safety."
Yu Vuo-Ki tells you, "However, I can't just send anyone to rescue her. Bring me an insignia from a Tumerok to prove your strength. Then I'll trust you in saving my sister."

You give Yu Vuo-Ki Gold Tumerok Insignia.
Yu Vuo-Ki tells you, "Perhaps you can help me! My sister was last seen near the outskirts of Dryreach. Please find her for me. Time is of the essence! I'll give you thirty minutes to save her, otherwise I'll have to find her myself and hope I alone can rescue her."

The house where Dansha-Ki is held captive is located at 9.0S, 73.7E. It's surrounded by a large force of Tumeroks: at least 10 Fighters, Several Scouts and a Warrior. Once you have battled your way through, go to the basement where you'll find Dansha-Ki caged behind bars.

Dansha-Ki tells you, "I can't believe I let myself get caught by these Tumeroks again. You can't break me free from this cell, but if you can locate my belongings I can use my components to teleport myself away from here. The Tumeroks who took my belongings just left and were traveling north towards Dryreach. You need to hurry, not much time remains before they decide what to do with me...And I'm not sure if they will simply let me go this time."
Dansha-Ki tells you, "Shhhh! I think I hear someone coming!"

What she hears is the Tumerok Guard! It spawns after you speak to Dansha-Ki. Kill the Guard and retrieve the Bone Engraved Key it carries.

The key opens the door to a tower at 6.3, 73.6E (resistance 2121). It's guarded by a few Tumerok Workers and Scouts and a Tumerok Warrior. Head to the top of the tower and you'll find Danshi-Ki's Belongings. When you return them to Dansha-Ki, she'll finally have the spell components she needs to recall out and make her escape! As a reward, you'll receive Dansha-Ki's Ring and Dansha-Ki's Gem of Portal Recall.

You give Dansha-Ki Dansha-Ki's Belongings.
Dansha-Ki tells you, "You found my belongings! Now I can portal out of here without the tumeroks outside seeing me."
Dansha-Ki tells you, "I owe you a debt I can never fully repay. Please accept this ring and gem as a token of my appreciation. The ring was given to me by my father and has protected me on many occasions."
Dansha-Ki gives you Dansha-Ki's Ring.
Dansha-Ki gives you Dansha-Ki's Gem of Portal Recall.

Gold Tumerok Insignias can also be given to the Tumerok Collector inside Dryreach for a reward (The Collector at Fort Tethana and the Army Recruiters also accept the Insignia.)

Tumerok Collector tells you, "I am a collector of the golden insignia that can be found with the tumeroks. Bring them to me as proof of your battles against them, and I will reward you."
You give Tumerok Collector Gold Tumerok Insignia.
Tumerok Collector tells you, "Hold on, I'm getting your money."
Tumerok Collector gives you 1,000 Pyreals.
Tumerok Collector tells you, "Here you go."
