Town Crier tells you, "If you see a young man named Tamian Wilmit, his
friends in Rithwic are very worried about him and would like to know where
he is." Well, I
don't know about that. Sounds like some of his "friends" aren't overly
concerned! ;-) To begin, speak with Astara Duskshield in Rithwic at 10.3N, 58.3E
near the Weaponsmith.
Astara Duskshield tells you, "Hello. Have you seen Tamian
Wilmit around at all lately? I have not seen him in quite some time now. I am
concerned about him, he had been acting a bit strange lately. He is a very dear
friend. If you could find where he is I would very much appreciate it. He had a
row with my friend Delton Hardor. Very out of character for Tamian."
As Astara instructs, next find Delton Hardor.
He can be found inside the Rithwic tavern, the Skull & Flagons
at
10.8N, 59.4E.
Delton Hardor tells you, "Have I seen Tamian Wilmit?
Strange fellow he is, not very able. Seems he can do nothing. I do not
understand why Astara is still friends with him. Tis true, they knew each other
on Ispar when younger but he is of no use here. Little in the way of useful
skills, he has."
Delton Hardor tells you, "Yes, you may go tell Astara I said so. He tried to
fight me in sword practise. I swatted him finely for he is no good with a blade
and he came at me like a rabid Carenzi. I had to give him a good thrashing,
lucky he is we were using wood, not steel. Astara made me stop, also screamed at
him, he slunk away like a drudge."
Delton Hardor tells you, "I believe the last time I saw him was over by Ji
Tenxien the Tailor. You could ask her."
Ji Tenxien the Tailor is just a building away at 10.7N, 59.2E.
Speak to her and she'll send off to speak to yet another one of the Rithwic
townspeople.
Ji Tenxien the Tailor tells you, "No, I have not seen
Tamian Wilmit, not in a while. That boy is not good for much. Lazy, if you ask
me. Always has his nose stuck in a piece of parchment. Perhaps Wylreda the
Scribe has seen him. Tamian is always scrounging parchment off her."
Wylreda the Scribe can be found in The Guilded Tome at 10.6N, 58.4E.
When you speak with her, you end right back where you started, talking to Astara.
Wylreda the Scribe tells you, "Tamian, has not been here
lately, now that you mention it. Always in need of parchment, he is. He helps me
out a bit in exchange for it. Cannot seem to do much around here but he is deft
with ink and quill. Draws quite well, you know."
Wylreda the Scribe tells you, "Hmmm. An acquaintance of mine, a Scribe named
Tian Li Quan traveled through here recently and stayed with Tamian's family.
Tamian was fascinated with some Empyrean relic the Scribe had evidence of.
Perhaps his friend Astara knows of this, you should ask her."
Now you're getting somewhere! When you return to Astara,
you finally get a clue about where Tamian may have gone. Astara will send you
off to Lin to find out more about a drawing a scribe had given him.
Astara sighs
Astara Duskshield tells you, "Of late, Tamian had been
extremely interested in something a Scribe who was travelling through here had
given him. It had to do with a tower. Tamian is always drawing towers and such.
The Scribe was named Tian Li Quan and resides in Lin, I believe. Tamian is no
great traveler and that is quite a way from here. Strange that he would go and
say nothing, but perhaps..."
Next head to Lin to find Tian Li Quan at 54.4S, 73.1E.
Lin can be reached by taking the portal from Tou-Tou at 28.0S, 95.4E or by
taking the Victory Residental Quarters portal in Samsur at 3.2S, 19.1E.
Tian Li Quan tells you, "Why yes, I do know Tamian Wilmit.
I met him when I was travelling through Rithwic. Then he came here not too long
ago. He seemed unhappy, and driven. His goal is to find an Empyrean structure
that I had shown him evidence of, a sketch I let him have while staying with his
family. He did some research while he was here but did not speak much to me
about it."
Tian Li Quan tells you, "He left me a sealed copy of his journal in case someone
came by looking for him. I think you are not the person he imagined may show up
but I believe I should let you have it. He went to look for this structure. He
went west."
Tian Li Quan gives you Journal of Tamian Wilmot.

Journal of Tamian Wilmot
Ah, it's an old story. The
sensitive artist loves the girl, but she pines for the Dashing Swordsman
instead. We find out that Tamian set out to discover more about an Empyrean
tower, hoping to someday build such a structure to impress his lady love.
Tamian's journal notes that he
found information about an Archive SW of the Dungeon of Tatters, rumored to have
been build by Saolor Lentain, the author of the tower sketch.
Map:
An Archive
An Archive is located at
63.5S, 36.8E. To reach it, take the
Ro-Nan
settlement portal
from Qalaba'r at 74.8S, 17.8E. You'll exit at 63.1S,
35.4E. When you enter the dungeon (you must be flagged by talking to the NPCs
first), you'll see a note at the entrance, instructing you to get a key from one
of the Iron Guardian Golems nearby (approximate 62.9S, 36.6E). The key is no
drop, no give. Only one member of your party needs a key.
Text:
A Note from Tamian Wilmot
An Archive (no level
restrictions, cannot be tied or summoned) is full of Champions of the Blood
(Level 80 Skeletons) and Warlocks of the Blood (Level 100
Undead). You need to
fight your way to the bottom and retrieve a note from Tamian. It's highly
recommended that you bring a mage who can imperil the Champions.
Champion of
the Blood tells you, "Your stature is smaller, your bones more brittle and your
flesh more maleable. You are not of our masters legion, so your death comes with
rewards...my thoughts returned."
Warlock of the Blood tells you, "You should not have trespassed here. We are set
to the task and supported by the master."
To reach the lower level, go
straight at the entrance until you reach a T. From here, continue taking rights
in general. You'll go down several more levels before you reach the Archive. The
note spawns on a table (7 day timer).

A Note from Tamian Wilmot
This second note reveals that
Saolor Lentain was indeed the
architect of the Empyrean Tower. Of its purpose, Tamian knows not, as he muses
to Astara about the purpose of art. Philosophy aside, Tamian's research gives
the location of the tower as Southeast of Uziz.
The easiest way to reach Uziz
is through the Haven Residential Quarter portal in Tou-Tou (28.2S, 95.6E) or
Lytelthorpe (0.6N, 51.6E). The Tower Base Dungeon is a short distance away at
34.7S, 33.6E (no level restrictions, cannot be tied or summoned). This section
is full of Glacial, Iron, Granite and Obsidian
Golems. The path is
pretty straightforward. Just keep heading up until you reach the Upper Tower
Portal.
Map:
Tower Base
Once outside, head up
the tower in front of you. Again you'll be fighting
Champions of the Blood (Level 80
Skeletons) and Warlocks of the Blood (Level 100
Undead), as well as a
few Lich Lords. Half way up the tower you'll reach a landing with a plaque
and a 3rd note from Tamian.
For you, Aia, this Tower,
Built, for I could do naught else right for you,
This Tower to pierce the sky,
As you have done to my soul,
Its spires as spears rending the clouds,
This Tower for you,
Who will not feed the famine in my heart,
Your uncaring glances as spears,
To stab my given heart.
Text:
A Note from Tamian Wilmot
Tamian marvels at the irony
that Saolor Lentain built the tower out of love for a woman, to no avail, and
vows to return one day to Astara after proving himself. Far be it from me to
dispense romantic advice, but sometimes a girl just wants a guy who's actually,
well, around. Doing the dishes or the laundry every once in while doesn't hurt
either. I'm just saying.
From the split, you'll need climb the
two sides of the towers and get the Glass Token Halves from the chests up top (7 day
timer). Combine the halves into A Glass Token, then head back down to the bottom
of the tower.
You successfully connected the two halfs (sic) of the
glass key.
Find the opening in the tower base and you'll see a room with
a twirling spear mounted on a tower. Give the Token to the
Spear (don't double-click the token; treat it like handing a collector an item). You'll get the Spear of the Given Heart in return!
Originally, the spear could not be given, but during
A Perfect
Pardox, it was made givable (it still cannot be hooked, however).
You give Spear of the Given Heart A Glass Token.
You obtain the Spear of the Given Heart.
Spear of the Given Heart gives you Spear of the Given Heart.
If you return to Astara in
Rithwic, you can give her the Journal and final note for an experience reward
(you can pick up more than one note; however, you will only receive the xp once). You
know Rithwic. That town where the Tamian left his lady love all alone for
months. Alone, that is, except for the company of a Dashing Swordsman. Can you
say, "fool for love?" ;-)
You give Astara Duskshield
Journal of Tamian Wilmot.
Astara Duskshield tells you,
"I... I did not know..."
Astara Duskshield tells you,
"Thank you for giving me this."
You've earned 6,000 experience.
You give Astara Duskshield A Note from Tamian Wilmot.
Astara Duskshield tells you,
"Oh, Tamian!"
You've earned 20,000 experience.
