Town Crier tells you, "My cousin went to visit Harlune recently. He told me that Harlune's been in an even worse mood than usual and is complaining that no one will leave him in peace."

Town Crier tells you, "Viamontians in Knorr? I don't believe it. Asheron would never tolerate that... Right?"

The Viamont are intent on recovering all the secrets of Knorr! They've broken through to the Collegium and are working to steal its power for themselves. Follow their excavations and retrieve a ring and a journal from the Viamontian mage, Master Malsivir.

You begin the quest just as if you were completing the Halls of Knorr quest. Speak with Olcris, Nuhmudira's Student in Stonehold at 68.7N, 21.6W. Make sure you have 2 M notes (or MMD notes to skip the trials) and a lockpicker with you before departing!

To reach Stonehold, take the Azaroth Cottages Settlement portal in Qalaba'r at 74.8S, 17.8E. You'll exit at 84.1N, 31.1W, a short run from a portal to Stonehold located at 85.8N, 27.6W.

Hand Olcris a Trade Note in exchange for a portal gem, then use your gem to enter the Halls of Knorr. In order to reach the portal area, you may have to run through the three trials (see the Halls of Knorr quest write-up - riddle answers are book, mead and kite shield).

After the trials you'll be in the antechamber area. Head down the south corridor and take the Collegium Occultus Antechamber portal (Levels 130+). Once through, you'll meet Balior, another guardian Golem.

Balior tells you, "A human entrant? Perhaps you are the one who can help. The sanctity of the Collegium Occultus has been violated, and my master has not responded. I discovered a broken seal that signals the presence of intruders."
Balior gives you Broken Occultus Seal.
Balior tells you, "Please take this broken seal and bring it to a knowledgeable Empyrean. In the absence of my master, I believe the only other extant Empyrean in Ireth Lassel is one who has secluded himself in a cave, in the northern mountains of the island. Bring the Broken Occultus Seal to that one, human."

As Balior instructs, take the Broken Seal to the Empyrean Harlune the Misanthrope up in the Mite Maze.

To reach the Mite Maze (41.1N, 57.3E, take the Mountain Pass portal in Arwic at 35.0N, 56.0E. The shortcut will drop you at 41.0N, 56.0E, just a few clicks away!

If you've never been to the Mite Maze before, bring your earplugs! It's full of... well, mites! Diggers, Sentries, Scamps. To reach Harlune, hug the left wall from the entrance. Keep to the left until you see the first ramp up. Pass it by and keep left until you reach a large open room. When you exit the room to the east you'll be making one more left at the split, then all rights until you find the ramp up. Pick open the door (resistance 162), and Harlune is down the corridor to the left of his pet Reedshark, Alfrega.

Harlune the Misanthrope tells you, "You best not have done anything to Alfrega, if you know what's good for you..."
You give Harlune the Misanthrope Broken Occultus Seal.
Harlune the Misanthrope tells you, "Zounds! This broken seal can only mean that there are intruders in... Welll [sic], never mind. You must go back to the Golem Balior in Knorr and help it with whatever it asks you to do."
Harlune the Misanthrope tells you, "No doubt it will be a secret and sensitive task. Be discreet. I won't mention this to you again, until you return with some sign from Balior that you have helped."

Again head to Stonehold and get another Knorr gem from Olcris (use the same type note as you did the first time), then return to Balior.

Balior tells you, "I am grateful that you found the one that you call Harlune and alerted him to the danger. Now you must take up arms against the intruders in the Collegium Occultus."
Balior tells you, "Go through this portal and seek out the one called Master Malsivir. He has looted a very dangerous artifact from the Collegium called the Void Crystal. There is no telling what kind of catastrophe could result if such foolish and short-sighted beings abused its powers."

From the drop go straight heading south, then make a left at the T. Head down the ramp to the east, go through a large room, then south down another ramp. You'll cross a bridge area overlooking purple lights and will dead end in a theater room. Master Malsivir is found down a ramp to the east in the room before the theater area (across from the exit portal).

Kill Master Malsivir (3 minute spawn) and loot his journal and the Void Crystal.

Once everyone has their items, take the exit portal to the west and give the Crystal to Balior for a reward of 9,000,000xp (shareable in fellow).

Balior tells you, "You have retrieved the crystal from the human despoiler. Please, give it to me."
You give Balior Void Crystal.
Balior tells you, "This is the artifact that was sought. I am empowered to reward you for this effort. But I cannot serve as the crystal's guardian. Please bring the crystal to Harlune. It has become his responsibility to safeguard the artifact."
You've earned 9,000,000 experience.
Balior gives you Void Crystal.

Again head to the Mite Maze and give the Crystal to Harlune in exchange for the ring!

Harlune the Misanthrope tells you, "Go away! And don't tell Asheron I'm down here! Never could stand the man..."
You give Harlune the Misanthrope Void Crystal.
Harlune the Misanthrope tells you, "Oh ho! So Balior is passing the hot potato to me! That fussy old Golem was always a little too eager to remind people of their duties. Well, it is technically correct. If the Collegium Occultus has been compromised, a Golem cannot be relied upon to protect this thing."
Harlune the Misanthrope tells you, "I suppose I must hang on to it and keep it out of that blue-skinned devil's clutches until, uh... Well, for a while. Thanks, youngster."
Harlune the Misanthrope gives you Collegium Occultus Ring.
Harlune the Misanthrope tells you, "I know, I ought to reward you for all your hard work, and lugging this thing back to me... What's this I have in my pocket? There you go. Enjoy. Where did I get such a thing, you ask? Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies."
