Don't like that greyish color of the low quality Chorizite? Perk up your inventory with some stylish purple hued High-Grade Chorizite! High-Grade Chorizite makes the fabulous new Ravenous Weapons. If you have the stats to activate the enchantments on these new transparent beauties, you'll see that they do fine damage indeed!

This quest is similar to the Hollow Weapons quest. Background information on the special qualities of  Chorizite, including its denseness and its imperviousness to enchantments, can be found in Alistair Loquacious' book, Concerning the Revelations of Anti-Magic

Read Gondo Kanezo's work, Practical Applications of Chorizite, for more.

To begin, you'll need to acquire your Lugian Pick Axe from an obliging Amploth Lugian. Use the pick axe on the deposit in the Lugian Excavation (77.0S x 64.4E) to extract your ore.

Map: Lugian Excavations

Be careful! The dungeon is riddled with traps that will dispel all the buffs you can muster. It's best to bring a few friends and to have good base AL armor, just in case. Inside you'll battle lots of Extas and Gigas Lugians.

To reach a deposit, keep heading north from the entrance. After descending a ramp, go right (straight) at the first intersection. You can reach deposits from most of the remaining routes. Use a pick axe on the deposit to extract your ore.

After you have your chunk (just one!) take it to Feruza ibn Salaq (76.0N x 49.1W) to have it refined.

Then, like both the Altan Weapons and the Hollow Weapons quests, you need to bring your Refined Ore to the Crater and purchase the glyph of your choice from Silencia to infuse your chunk.

Portalling to the crater is the easiest way to travel, but if you need to travel by land, come in from the southwest. Look for two stone pillars topped by fire (65.2N x 10.5E). Wear your fire protective clothing and look for the narrow "V" slot in the wall of the crater. Run like hell through the entrance, past the flammas and flares, and keep going, bearing right. Crater Village is located counter clockwise around the lake at 64.8N x 13.6E. Silencia stands with her pet golem on the top floor of the tower near the lifestone.

This is one highly skilled golem. He is very versatile and will work with all kinds of Dereth's strange metals. Give Silencia's Magma Golem your infused ore and you'll receive your Ravenous weapon in return! Since one size fits all, no skill check is required. Of course you need a weapons skill of 275+ to actually get the full benefit of the stats. The Ravenous Weapons, like the ore, are no-drop. Plus they're see through!

Getting Home
There are several exits portals from the Crater. Hilltop near Glendon Wood 64.8N x 13.6E and to a Sho Roadside, North of Shoushi 64.9N x 13.6. You can also take one to Crater Pathway 64.8N x 13.6E, but watch out for wisps.

If you overburdened yourself by accident by mining too much ore, you may give your excess chunks to a collector or other NPC to get rid of them.

Phantom Weapons

During the Atonement event, it became possible to upgrade Ravenous Weapons applying Bloodhunter Oil. From the Alchemical Formulas page:

Alembic + Stibnite = Bloodhunter Infusion.
Aqua Incanta + Bloodhunter Infusion = Bloodhunter Oil.

Phantom weapons have a special property of Phantasmal. Phantasmal ignores all physical armor on the target.

Tip: Bring lots of money (9,500p) when you head to visit Silencia to buy the glyph. They're expensive!
