The Shoushi Starter quests were updated during The Calm event. Speak to Oi-Tong Ye, a Society Agent, at the Three Swords Hall (33.5S, 73.0E) to get you started!

Oi-Tong Ye tells you, "Greetings, and welcome to Shoushi. I am the local representative of the Explorer Society. My job is to help new arrivals in Dereth."
Oi-Tong Ye tells you, "If you have just arrived in Dereth, you should talk to my friend Lou Ka, who stands just over there. He is looking for some help with an errand."
Oi-Tong Ye tells you, "Or you might investigate the rumors that the lovely Nin Hong sells upstairs."

Lou Ka, a former resident of the West Shoushi Outpost, can now be found in the tavern along with Oi-Tong Ye.

Lou Ka tells you, "Those thieving mosswarts have made off with my yaoji again! And this time they took several other items belonging to myself and my partner Bai Den as well!"
Lou Ka tells you, "Here is a list of the items that are missing. Will you go to the Braid Mansion Ruin, along the road that leaves town to the southwest, and recover our things for us? We would be very grateful."
Lou Ka gives you A List of Items.
Lou Ka tells you, "If you need more help finding the Braid Mansion Ruin, you can buy directions from Nin Hong at the bar."

Timer: 24 hours

Red Phyntos Wasp, Green Phyntos Wasp, Gnawer Shreth, Carrion Shreth, Outcast Monouga, Young Mosswart, Mosswart Feeder, Creeper Mosswart

Before heading to Braid Mansion, you may want to bind yourself to the Shoushi Lifestone. You can also purchase protective gems from Oneros the Gem Seller in the courtyard and services from the local healer at 33.8S, 73.0E.

The 8 items requested by Lou Ka can be found in the following locations:

Bai Den's Bracelet: Keep left from entrance until you find the bracelet spawning on the floor.

Lou Ka's Shouken: Keep right from the entrance (don't go down the stairs). Go through a gated door and the shouken spawns on the floor near a chest.

Lou Ka's Katar: Go south from the entrance and down the stairs. The katar spawns on the floor in a room at the bottom of the stairs.

Bai Den's Necklace: Go straight at the bottom of the stairs. Keep to the left and you'll find the necklace spawning on the floor in a large room at the end.

Bai Den's Gem: Go left out of the necklace room and keep left. The gem is in an old chest past the gated door.

Lou Ka's Trident: Exit the gem room through the gated door and keep left until you see a ramp down. At the bottom of the ramp keep right to the trident.

Bai Den's Ring: Head back to the bottom of the ramp and take the passage straight ahead. Bear left to find the ring.

Lou Ka's Yaoji: Keep left from the ring room. The yaoji is in a chest past a gated door guarded by shreth.

Shoushi, meaning "small place" was originally a walled fortress called Yaosai, built by the warlord Ijiku Tambai to protect the Sho people from Mosswart Raiders.  Perhaps the most recognizable feature of this thriving Sho town is the Spire of Serenity, located at the north end of the Yard of the Three Elders.
