From
Lost in
the New Horizon. Updated during the
Mirror,
Mirror event.
The
Quintessence Sickle is a prize received from the
Guardian of the
Singularity, a level 100 Virindi, found at the end of the
Singularity Bore.
Killing the Guardian is also the trigger that enables you to access the
Singularity Caul, the island introduced in the
Lost in
the New Horizon event.
Note: The
Caul is the island Bael'zharon called players to run "The Guantlet", an
invitation only quest to receive an Atlan Shadow Stone and the title of Dark
Master. A group of Virindi led by Levistras chose the Caul as the location
to build a new Singularity before they were defeated.
The entrance
to the dungeon is located at 64.1S, 63.8W, a short run from the Obsidian Plains BSD
(Black Spawn Den - 60.0S, 57.7W). It is restricted to levels 50+. If you
can't catch a ride to BSD, you can also reach the dungeon via the Aerlinthe
Recall spell. From the drop take the NW Direlands portal, then take the
Obsidian Rim portal at 5.5N, 87.5W.
Inside you'll
face
Virindi Executors,
Adjudicators,
Profatrix,
Consuls, and
Tusker
Assailers.
You'll also encounter
Ascendant and
Bloodletter
Drudges, Drudge
Mystics and
Telumiat Hollow Minions.
Recommendations:
Banes: Bludgeoning & Fire.
Protections: All, especially Bludgeoning, Fire, Lightning.
Attacks: Fire, Frost for Hollows.
No robes!
Map:
Singularity Bore
To reach the
Guardian, first jump into the pit to the south of the entrance. Beware of
Lightning traps!
Take the west hallway and
continue taking right turns
until you dead end.
Kill the
Guardian of the
Singularity
for the Sickle and to be flagged to enter the Caul.
The Virindi's cloak seems to boil, as if a thousand insects were seeking to escape before it collapses. The dying Virindi shares its final thoughts with you: "Your life is forfeit, human. You simply do not know it yet. In killing me, [player name], you have gained access to your doom."
As the Virindi falls to the ground, there is a bright flash of light!
The Singularity Caul
Portal is restricted to levels 55+. To reach the portal,
recall to the start of the Bore dungeon and
run North from the entrance.
Doogens Mage
of TD reports on an alternative route to the Guardian:
Maggie -- there are *four* guardians
in the Bore Dungeon, and the pit is a trap. Please tell your students not to
jump into that pit. It's longer, but also much safer to proceed south from
the pit, fight another dozen or so creatures, and approach the lightning pit
from the south. Entry into the pit area offers you two paths out; each of
the two paths out of the pit area splits again, thus my count of four
"wings" of the dungeon. Once in a wing, there are no choices along the way,
and each wing will lead for about a kilometer to a guardian's lair. Along
the way, expect to encounter very high level Virnidi, Tuskers, very pesky
drudges and -- this varies from wing to wing - anywhere from very few to
several hollow minions.
Jonin the
Black of WE sends his report on the changes to the Bore after the Mirror,
Mirror update:
"With this
last patch the following changes need to be reported for the Bore. It is now
full of Assailers, Virindi Adjudicators, Executors, Consuls, and Profatrix's.
There are also some Shadows near the Caul portal. Where there used to be
only Augmented Drudges, you will now find 3 times as many Bloodletters and
Ascendants mixed in with a ton of Telimiat Hollow Minions. Be prepared for
about 5-8 Hollows to come at a party in one go. Also about 5-10 Virindi of
varying types. I took a party of three 100+ characters and we were killed
many times each. My recommendation for the Bore is a party of at least 6 or
7. I would think a party of 2 mages, 3 melees and 1 or 2 archers would be
best. But stay ready because they spawn fast. We got swamped from all side
while getting our bearings. The way up the Caul portal is Deadly. Expect
tons of Assailers,Virindi, and Shads. That's my 2 pyreals...."
