From the Infiltration event.

Town Crier tells you, "Lord Kresovus has put out a call for help. The Queen offered her aid, but he said he would rather seek assistance from independent adventurers. I wonder what that's all about?"

If you speak with Lord Kresovus in Linvak Tukal (take the portal from Yaraq 21.8S, 1.0W), you'll learn some shocking news: his pet Mattekar, Balor, is missing! In the dark of night, Shadows attacked and attempted to take control of Linvak Tukal. These Shadow did not take human form; instead, they appeared as Lugians. The denizens of Linvak Tukal fought bravely back, but sadly, Balor was taken. Lord Kresovus seeks your help in returning his companion to his side.

Lord Kresovus tells you, "Greetings, small one. You have come at a most critical time. After years of siege, our walls have been breached. Though not by the Gotrok. Some other foul tribe forced their way past defenses which have long stood fast. A tribe of some foul thing I cannot begin to describe. Bodies usurped, brothers possessed... the mind recoils at such horrors."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "These fiends invaded under cover of darkness. They attacked while I slept. They meant to slay me - or take me prisoner - I do not know which. There was one with them, one whose appearance matched my own! I do believe he meant to assume control of Linvak Tukal in my stead."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "Were it not for the valiant efforts of Captain K'rank, and my own doomed Balor, I fear I would have been overwhelmed. As it turns out, we were not overwhelmed. We repelled the invaders. But not without our own casualties."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "Several of our own were taken prisoner by these beasts of Shadow. And Balor... my dear Balor..."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "My scouts tracked the demons to a location in the northernmost reaches of the Direlands. I fear I do not know more than that."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "If you seek to aid us in this conflict, find these demons. Slay these demons. Return whatever information you might find."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "And if you happen to find him, please do return my precious Balor to me."

To reach the Inner Stronghold Entrance, take the Kara portal from Shoushi at 33.1S, 73.2E, then head to Fort Tethana via the Foundry at 83.3S, 47.1E, then run to the entrance at 12.2N, 81.1W.

The entrance is a tunnel that leads down into the ground. It's guarded by Shadow Infiltrators and Seekers, the new Lugian Shadows. You'll also encounter Shadows, Umbris Shadows, Sinister Shadow and Harrower Grievver.

At the bottom, keep right heading north. Go up the ramp until you reach a T. Make a left, then head down another ramp. You'll see the portal leading to the Inner Stronghold.

Inner Stronghold - Level 80+

--Creatures:
Shadow Infiltrator, Shadow Seeker, Shadow Commander, Shoktok, Urleg, Amaroth, Shadow Lugian Portal, The Shadow

Note: Be prepared for hollow damage and use lightning attack.

In the initial room you'll see a disturbing sight: four lugians are imprisoned behind bars.

Lugian Prisoner tells you, "I made my way deep within this pit before they overwhelmed me. There is something down there. Something black and horrible. It creates these shadowy doppelgangers from nothingness. You must destroy it. Otherwise, I fear these demons will overrun the surface world."

Lugian Prisoner tells you, "Friend! You have come to aid us!"
Lugian Prisoner tells you, "These Shadows hail from somewhere deep within. I know not what lies down there. Some sort of portal to the world below, I fear. You must travel to the bottom of this pit. Shut down their access to the surface world. Otherwise, I fear we may become overrun with these demons."
Lugian Prisoner tells you, "As for us, leave us be. We will wait for their security to grow lax, and then we will strike from within! We will take these curs by surprise and avenge the glory of Linvak Tukal!"

Lugian Prisoner tells you, "There was something about the infiltration... something about the ease at which the Shadows were repelled. I fear there is some aspect of this plot that remains hidden from view. I only hope we might uncover it before these Shadows get the best of us."

Lugian Prisoner tells you, "Though they saw fit to lock us in these filthy cages, they took Balor somewhere deep within. I fear what plans they may have in store for our Lord's most favored companion."

Keep heading into the Stronghold until you reach a room with passage exiting to the south and the west. Head south down the ramp, keep to the right, then head west down another ramp. You'll find Shoktok at the bottom. Kill him and retrieve one of the 5 Doppelganger Shields he carries (30 day timer). Next to Shotok is a barrel with a Filthy Key spawning on top. Make sure someone in your party takes one (no timer).

Shotok also carries 1 copy of the Coda. Everyone in your party should get a copy of the Coda (30 day timer). Each of the 3 boss lugians carries one (they each carry the same text), so if you have more than 3 in your party, you'll need to wait for a respawn.

Text: Coda

Once you have your shield and key, head back up to the top. This time take the west passage and look for the locked door (resistance 400). Use the Filthy Key on the door to open it, then go south down the ramp. Continue south until you see a wooden bridge suspended over lava. You'll find Urleg on the other side. Urleg drops the Robe (30 day timer) and another copy of the Coda.

You'll find the last of the three Shadow Lugian bosses, Amaroth, further in the dungeon. He carries a trophy you'll be dismayed to see, a patch of Balor's fur. *sniff*

But beyond Amarath is something even more disturbing: a Shadow Lugian Portal. Black tentacles writhe surrounded by shadow. When you kill the strange creatures, a new portal opens.

The portal leads to another chamber with glowing red walls. In the distance you'll see another Lugian Shadow, this one named, simply The Shadow. It slimes your forehead then disappears as you're portaled to the Subway in Arwic!

The Shadow looks you in the eye, carefully examines you, and nods. It places a slick, oily hand on your forehead. You feel a tingling, numbing sensation in your gut. Then it is gone.

Return to
Lord Kresovus in Linvak Tukal (take the portal from Yaraq 21.8S, 1.0W) and tell him the sad news.

You give Lord Kresovus A Patch of Balor's Fur.
Lord Kresovus tells you, "Balor... What have they done to you?"
Lord Kresovus slumps forward, obviously overcome with grief. After a short moment, he remembers himself, his position, and his company. Lord Kresovus straightens his back and looks you in the eye.
Lord Kresovus tells you, "I thank you for your service. The heart grieves, but..."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "Thank you."

You've earned 1,947,187 experience.

You give Lord Kresovus Coda.
You've earned 3,894,375 experience.
Lord Kresovus tells you, "These are grim tidings indeed. But valuable - most valuable information. You have done Linvak Tukal a great service. You are indeed marked for greatness."

The rewards is a PXP reward. Level 126 characters receive about 10 millions for completing the quest. Solarion of MT (Level 97) received  6,132,585xp and 3,066,292xp.

The Lugian Commanders in the dungeon also may drop Shadow Lugian Stronghold portal gems that summon a portal to the Stronghold entry.

The robe may be dyed.

Lord Kresovus rears back and screams a great cry of anguish to the uncaring skies above. "BAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOORR!!!!!"
