If you speak to Senior Sage Shibak at the Fiun Outpost, you'll be given a task to complete. (To reach the Fiun Outpost, take the portal from Sanamar at 76.6N, 58.6W.)

Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "I am Senior Sage Shibak. I welcome you, Human."
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "Tales of your great deeds have spread wide and far. Long have I awaited your arrival."
Shibak stares at you silently then continues.
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "We of the Fiun have long labored to rectify that which we are the cause."
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "To that end we have dedicated our lives so our fate does not become yours."
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "That is why it is with great concern that those that would save this world have fallen silent."
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "Perhaps one such as yourself would help me?"
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "Speak to Fiun Ayabar and return with that which is spoken."
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "The place of which you must seek lies at 92.1N 46.3W and is barred from those not invited."
Shibak touches your forehead with one finger and whispers faintly.

The Fiun Sage sends you to Abayar's Laboratory - 92.1N, 46.3W (no level restriction). To reach the dungeon, take the Eastwatch portal from Sanamar at 71.2N, 61.3W.

Inside you'll be fighting numerous Frenzied Fuin (vulnerable to Fire). The first part of the dungeon can be very confusing. You'll need to find a spiral staircase on the other side of one of the numerous doors. Hugging the right wall or the left wall will not work this time! The correct door will have a broken statue on the left and a pedestal on the right.

Zerono of HG sends these detailed directions: From the drop take the south path and follow it until you hit a door. Go into the south room, then east, south, east, south, east, south, south, south, east (room with a run on the floor), east, north, west to the first staircase.

Keep left for the 2nd spiral staircase. Take a right at the split then go down a third set of stairs to Abayar's Study.

Note: You must be flagged by talking to Senior Sage Shibak to enter the portal.

Abayar's Study

If you go straight you'll find a room with a note lying on a table.

If you go down the hall to the North, you'll find Fiun Abayar, surrounded by Fiun Assistants. Kill Abayar and return to the Fiun Outpost with Abayar's Research Notes for your reward!

You give Senior Sage Shibak Abayar's Research Notes.
You hand the Research Notes to Senior Sage Shibak and tell him of Ayabar's fate.
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "Grim tidings do you bring this day."
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "Let us hope that Ayabar's sacrifice helps to undo the curse we Fiun have brought to Dereth."
Senior Sage Shibak tells you, "My thanks for your services."
