Updated during The Calm event.

The Stone Cathedral starter quest ends with the beginning of the Four Stones quest. After you return the two Greenmire foods to Nen Ai for her pet drudge, you'll receive a note with directions to the Shreth Hive.

Nen Ai tells you, "You have been so good to help me already, but perhaps you can do one more thing for me?"
Nen Ai tells you, "My friend Oi-Tong Ye follows the teachings of Jojii. He has been searching for four stones that represent the Jojiist principles of Discipline, Detachment, Compassion, and Humility. I have recently learned that these stones may be found in the Shreth Hive."

Nen Ai gives you Directions to the Shreth Hive.
Nen Ai tells you, "Here are directions that will lead you to the Shreth Hive. Please see if you can recover the four stones. When you do, take them to Oi-Tong Ye in the bar in Shoushi. He will be so pleased to have them!"

Rumor: Directions to the Shreth Hive

Recover the Four Stones of Jojii from inside the dungeon and return them to Oi-Tong Ye in Shoushi for a reward!

The following texts found in the Hebian-to library provide more information on the Three Elders and the Sho philosophies which serve as the background for Shoushi's Four Stones starter quest: On the Four Stones and the Three Elders and Comments on the Teaching of Jojii.

Shreth Hive - 32.4S, 71.0E
Levels: 1-20
Map: Shreth Hive
Timer: 24 hours

Creatures:
Drudge Slinker, Drudge Prowler, Carrion Shreth, Gnawer Shreth, Red Phyntos Wasp

Before heading to the Shreth Hive, you may want to bind yourself to the Shoushi Lifestone. You can also purchase protective gems from Oneros the Gem Seller in the courtyard and services from the local healer at 33.8S, 73.0E.

The Shreth Hive can be quite challenging. It's possible to complete this solo, although bringing a friend or two may be the wiser option. Right inside the entrance you'll be swarmed by Drudges, with some even dropping from above. If you don't hesitate when you enter, and immediately jump to the level below, running straight for the center corridor, you can avoid any serious initial damage. You will, however, need to retrieve one of the stones from the upper level.

From the drop, head to the west side of the room and follow the winding passage first east, then back west, over ramps and catwalks to find the Stone of Compassion.

Head back to the entry room and jump into the pit taking the center passage to the north. At the first intersection after the ramp, make a right heading west. You'll find the Stone of Humility guarded by Shreth.

Head back to the intersection after the ramp. This area can be confusing, but if you keep left, you'll eventually come to a room with a few chests and a ramp heading up.

Once you head up the ramp, the way is pretty straightforward. Follow the corridor as is winds around until you're standing at the top of another ramp overlooking the main chamber. Kill the wasp that blocks your way and pick up the Stone of Discipline from the ledge.

The main chamber contains many more Shreths and they re-spawn at a fairly quick rate. You can attempt to clear out the room, or you can choose to to simply run right past them, and head down the ramp in the center of the tower to the lowest level. Once at the bottom, you'll find four chests grouped together. The Stone of Detachment is in the nearest chest.

Once you have all four stones, return to Shoushi proper and give the stone to Oi-Tong Ye for your reward!

When you no longer make mistakes, you will no longer be human."
Oi-Tong Ye tells you, "Thank you for bringing this to me."

Shoushi, meaning "small place" was originally a walled fortress called Yaosai, built by the warlord Ijiku Tambai to protect the Sho people from Mosswart Raiders.  Perhaps the most recognizable feature of this thriving Sho town is the Spire of Serenity, located at the north end of the Yard of the Three Elders.
