From the Throne of Destiny Expansion.

By tracing Oswald's footsteps, you can receive an extra skill credit for your efforts!

To begin, speak to the Huntsman in Silyun.

NPC: Huntsman of Silyun - 86.9N, 70.0W

To reach Silyun, take the portal from Sanamar at 76.6N, 58.6W. You can also buy a portal gem gem from Luressi di Maki for a V note. (You may want to buy a handful of these before you begin, as you'll be returning to Silyun numerous times.)

Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "You are new to Silyun, are you? If you are a skilled hunter, you may be of some use for me, in helping me track the most dangerous quarry of all: the assassin, Oswald! Of course, first you must prove your skill. Bring me the jaw of an Abhorrent, Ravenous, or Insatiable Eater, and we will talk of how you may help me."

For more information on obtaining an Abhorrent, Ravenous or Insatiable Eater Jaw, visit the Eater Jaws quest write-up!Return to Silyun and give the Hunstman the Jaw for further instructions.

You give Huntsman of Silyun Abhorrent Eater Jaw.
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "So, you are indeed a mighty hunter of beasts. How are you as a hunter of men? I have been tracking the infamous assassin, Oswald, for some time. By last report, he traveled into a series of tunnels belonging to those grey giants, the Lugians. Please journey into the Lugian Ice Tunnels, located at 93.3N, 50.1W , and bring back any evidence of Oswald's whereabouts."

--Creatures:
Bokrok Lugian, Gotrok Juggernaut, Gotrok Titan

To reach the Ice Tunnels, take the Plains of Ruin Portal out of Silyun at 87.9N, 69.7W.

This dungeon is fairly easy to navigate. Hug the right wall the entire way through and you'll be fine. Follow the northern path straight ahead and keep following until you reach a large open room. Head up to the ice pillar room and take the SW passage until you reach a room with a table. Continue to the next large room. The exit portal is to the north and to the south is a corpse containing a note.

Rumor: Note to Alvirre

Note: the original 20 minute spawn timer on the notes was reduced to 30 seconds during the Friend and Foe event.

Return the note to the Huntsman in Silyun for your next instructions.

You give Huntsman of Silyun Note to Alvirre.
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "This is what you found in the Lugian Ice Tunnels?  Most curious.  It seems that Oswald has taken an interest in the Ruschk, for some reason.  I believe the location to which he refers is the Ruschk Icehold.  You can find it at 87.3N, 51.8W.  Please go there and continue the investigation."

--Creatures:
Ruschk Kartak, Ruschk Sadist

To reach the Icehold, again take the Plains of Ruin Portal out of Silyun at 87.9N, 69.7W.

When you enter, head straight. At the T, go east. When you reach the large room, take the SE passage, then at the next big room take the SW passage. From here there's only one way. Follow the passage to the last large room and find another corpse with a note.

Rumor: Varette's Orders

Once again, return to Silyun and speak to the Huntsman.

You give Huntsman of Silyun Varette's Orders.
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "And this is the evidence of Oswald that you found in the Ruschk Icehold?  Interesting, indeed.  So Varicci seeks the assassin for his own purposes.  If the King's soldiers have captured Oswald, then they would have taken him to the Royal Prison. That grim dungeon is located at 92.0N, 41.6W .  Please go there and see if Oswald is, indeed, in captivity."

: Repugnant Eater, Royal Prison Warden, Viamontian Commander, Viamontian Counselor, Viamontian Knight, Viamontian Tribune, Viamontian War Wizard, Viamontian Warcaster

From the drop, follow the path until you reach a room with an acid pit. Go north, then east (ignore the invisible wall to the west), then east at the split. When you reach the large room, find the lever up top behind the wooden door. This lever opens the gate to the far east. Go through the doors and keep east. At the T head north and you will reach a room with secret passages on the north and east walls. Take the east passage, then go through a few doors until you reach the Royal Prison Guard and the Prison Warden's Chest. The Warden carries the Prison Warden's Key and the Prison Warden's Orders. Use the key on the nearby chest and loot Oswald's Prison Journal and Seven Habits of Effective Adventurers.

Seven Habits reads as follows:
Yuan Hanzu
(This book is written in an unintelligible script, probably an elaborate code.)
- O.

Head back to the lever room and use it to open the door across the acid pit to the north. Remove the Note from a Generous Host from the Prison Guard's corpse and return again to Silyun (final note optional).

Text: Oswald's Prison Journal

Rumor: Prison Warden's Orders
Rumor: Note to a Generous Host

You give Huntsman of Silyun Oswald's Prison Journal.
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "Ah, a very interesting look into the mind of this most troublesome killer. This gives me much to think about. Consider your service ended. I thank you for your assistance..."
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "Oswald's journal makes note of a skill manual he wrote, in Tracker's Script. That is a secret language known only by the most accomplished hunters and trackers of Ispar. If you find that skill manual, I could translate it for you and train you to be more skillful."

You give Huntsman of Silyun Seven Habits of Effective Adventurers.
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "This is the skill manual that Oswald wrote about in his journal. It is written in a most curious cipher.  This is in Tracker's Script, which was a coded language used among the most accomplished hunters of Ispar. That is a very interesting clue to Oswald's background. Let me decipher it for you..."
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "Excuse me? I believe we have already done our business. You have chased Oswald as far as he could be chased, and I have trained you in skill to reward your efforts. Please ask no more of me."

Your reward is a skill credit! You won't get a message or any indication that you have received the skill credit. Simply look on your character panel. This quest is one time only and cannot be repeated. When you next speak to the Huntsman, he'll say the following:

Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "Excuse me? I believe we have already done our business. You have chased Oswald as far as he could be chased, and I have trained you in skill to reward your efforts. Please ask no more of me."

If you try to give the Huntsman a second copy, you'll get this response:

You give Huntsman of Silyun Seven Habits of Effective Adventurers.
Huntsman of Silyun tells you, "Didn't you already give me this manual?  I don't know where you got a second copy, but I have already done all I can for you."
