Quest Details: Shield of Isin Dule
Rumor: Shadow Spire on the Caul
Text: Isin Dule's Orders
Timer: 13 days

Sidd's mage of SC reports:
"First you must kill multiple spawns on Caul below the spire. A portal will then open. You must go into the portal, and run up the stairs, kill the Captain, he opens another portal, go in. At the top is the Shadow boss, Shadow Cynn, I believe. He is really really hard, for he casts a Black madness spell that decreases all skills by 30%. The boss monster is Red, but you do not have to be PK to cast on him, so do not be fooled. Melees are advised to move away when he casts since he casts shadowy vortex which drains 180 life a second. As you begin to fight, re-spawns of the monsters below will spawn up top around the Boss. But once he dies, they all die. The coords are 92S, 92.9W for the spire. You must kill 4 or 5 spawns for the portal. The shield is buffable, droppable, and pure ownage!"

Captain Faalx falls with an angry growl. An ominous black mist begins swirling on the ceiling.

The Fleshy Trove has been unlocked.
Your key is used up.

You give Bretself the Translator Fleshy Lump.
Bretself the Translator tells you, "Ugh! Another one of these lumps? Even worse, this ones [sic] sill squirming! Still... this is fascinating."
Bretself the Translator tells you, "This seems to be orders to the Shadows under Isin Dule's command. Oh my, he raised a Shadow Spire? He's ordering his forces to stop some High Archon of the Raven Hand. Here, take a look."

Bretself the Translator gives you Isin Dule's Orders.

Hello Maggie,
My name's Grin, of Thistledown, and I'm here to report some good news. There's a new quest. But not just any new quest. This one will make your skin crawl with excitement and your toes curl with joy!! I'm talking about the quest located at the new Shadow Spire on Singularity Caul Island at about 91.9s, 92.6w.

We first arrived and noticed a red dot at the top of the tower. At first I thought maybe it was Bael Zharon incarnate? It's called Shadow Cyst and we couldn't ID it from the ground. The bottom of the tower is swarmed with Shadow Wraiths, Twisted Shadows, Marguls of all sorts, Panumbral Soldiers (the meanest of the bunch), among other mean creatures on that island. Eventually 3 Liutenant Shadows spawned. They appeared to be of high ranking in the shadow community. They all wielded a mighty shield and shadow sword. I think one of their names was Liutenant Shenran? Doesn't matter.. After they were dead, a portal summoned at the base of the spire.

The battle raged in the spire before I made it in there, but this was no easy fight, to be certain. Some of our companions died for our great cause and curious minds. Good people as well. Eventually after walking to the top of a very tall spiralling bone staircase, we fought with a Captain of the shadow forces. After he was defeated another portal was summoned. This time to the very top where the Shadow Cyst and his minions resided.

The Shadow Cyst had around 60000 hit points and was definitely NOT messing around. He casted a spell known as Black Madness that reduces all skills by 30%!! The fight raged on for a good while, but in the end, Fist-I got the kill with the combined efforts of Vizmir, Abdul al-Terran, and myself. The Shadow Cyst dropped about 8 or so? lumps on a 13 day timer used to open the chest right at the edge near the battle with the Cyst, overlooking the ground below the Spire. Inside was the Shield of Isin Dule and a fleshy lumpy thing, which I haven't taken to the translator yet, but I'm definitely in for a good read I think. =) Best of luck, adventurers. And be sure to bring back up!! (Quest is level 140+)

To the wonderful AC Fan Sites,

Ok, Demorted, Sapphire Knight, and Butterflygolem just finish the new Shadowspire Quest. You get the Sheild of Isin Dule . Its a Magic Absorbing shield with shield lv base of 190 and wield of lv 140. Ok to do the quest, You run from caul drop to 91.9s 92.7w. Going to be a nice size spawn of Shadows below the Spire. You are goign to kill off 4 spawns of shadows. Twisted Shadows and Shadow Nightmares, then Wretched and Void Knights, then some new shadows with specail names, Lieutenant Beraxis, Lieutenant Yezusthule, and Lieutenant Shenza(The 3 lieutenants dont drop anythign specail.) then one last round of Twisted Shadows, Shadow Nightmares, Wretches and Void Knights. Then a portal will open to let you into the spire. Inside the spire you will fight your way up the spiral staircase. The shadows you will encounter are Twisted Shadows, Shadow Nightmares, Wretches, Void Knights, and 2 new ones, Umbral Soldiers, Panumbral Soldiers. At the top you will fight Captain Faalx. After killing him another portal will open. That portal will take you on top of the spire and you will fight the final boss, Shadow Cyst. He doesnt move around and u can vul him. At 50% health he spawns some friends but other than that he is pretty easy. He cast a couple nasty spells one called Black Madness drops your skills by 30%.
After He dies he drops about 10 keys called Boney Lump of Flesh. It can be used on the Fleshy Trove that is up by him. Its a 13 day timer on the quest and the sheild can be turn into xp, not sure how much I'm keeping the Shield. Also in the chest is a Fleshy Lump, which can be translated in Cragstone for the Lore of the Quest. Thanks for great sites. Hope this helps everyone.

More from SapphireKnight:

Ok going back since we were rushing to get it all sent in lol

The portal into the spire spawns directly below it at 91.7S 92.7W (BFG took SS as he walked in)
The portal to the inside of the spire is recallable, went back to take some shots for you though not sure about the tieable or not.

Took pictures of the ribbed staircase....if you pop a magic d rare you could probably solo quest though I dont think its a good idea because Archer, Melee, or Mage, if the Cyst hits you with Black Madness you're not doing anything for the entire minute it takes to wear off. Chances are by the time you work your way to the top of the stairs whether youre gettin stuck on monsters or the actual graphics of the stairs themselves.....youre gonna be gettin tore up pretty bad by the Captain. You cant really see the portal that spawns a few second after he dies.

--------

I saw that you have yet to venture on this quest for a full write up. I've been on this quest 3 times already and for some reason, mages in our group fail to stay alive. When on the hill killing the spawns below the tower, each time that I went, 2 spawns needed to be killed to open the portal which appears north east from the top of the hill. Also inside the stair well after killing the captain, the (black) portal is not always visible and appears on the ceiling at the very top. Recommendations for a Life Magic rare or a Life Magic skill of 400+, and a fellowship of 4 or more, as the boss inside is nearly impossible to vuln. Also I have included a screen shot of the stairwell inside which gets very congested -- 50+ creatures.

P.S. Congrats on the newborn, I wish you the best.
