From the Under Cover of Night event.

Town Crier tells you, "I hope the Carenzi Rebels can hold out a little longer! My cousin sent them some food..."

Town Crier tells you, "Those fools who call themselves the Carenzi believe they are safe from the justice of the King. Well I have some advice for them: "Always watch your back.""!

When the Viamontians began their invasions, many people fled! You can find some of these rebels hiding in a cave on Marae Lassel. But one among them is a traitor! Explore the Back Tunnels and find a Grazer Bug on a Viamontian Seeker. When it seeks its mate, you'll know who the traitorous rebel is!

Rebel Hideout - 43.9N, 73.9W

To reach the Hideout, head to Bluespire from Yaraq at 21.7S, 1.3W, then take the Marescent Plateau portal at 42.0N, 77.6W. Inside you'll find the rag tag crew of Carenzi Rebels who bear a significant resemblance to the cast of Red Dawn. ;-)

NPCs: Daniel, Gromnie, Matthias Eckhart, Arica, Antonia, Count Tenera, Dar Rell, Robert Gutsmasher, Jedeth Eckhart

Daniel tells you, "I don't know about this. I just want to go home. The Viamontians, they're Isparians too. But Jed says we can't, and Robert... whenever I try to talk to him, he just tells me to kill more Knights."

Gromnie tells you, "Yeah, they call me Gromnie. It's a long story."
Gromnie tells you, "I just can't stand this. Living in a cave, never knowing when Varicci's men are going to attack... I can't stand it!"

Matthias Eckhart tells you, "Meeting the Count was a stroke of good luck. He's been fighting Varicci since the Duke's rebellion back on Ispar, and he's been training us!"
Matthias Eckhart tells you, "When Varicci's men came, we were just able to get out of town before they raised those towers. We came here and we've been making attacks and raids when we can. We're not going to just sit back and let them take over our homes! We call ourselves the Carenzi, because we're fierce and quick!"

Arica tells you, "Things are different now."
Arica tells you, "You tell Jed, you tell Count Tenera, you tell them that Antonia and I are as good as any of them."
Arica tells you, "Count Tenera... he's pretty handsome, don't you think? And so brave!"

Antonia tells you, "I just don't want them to catch me. They'll make me talk."
Antonia tells you, "Tell You think you're brave? Have you ever led four Viamontian Knights into an ambush without a weapon in your hand? I didn't think so."

Count Tenera tells you, "Between me and you, this can't go on indefinitely. These Carenzi are good fighters, but they're young and inexperienced. I think they should try and get out of here, get to the mainland. I hear Stonehold may still be safe."
Count Tenera tells you, "When I heard that Varicci had invaded Marae Lassel, I knew that the resistance here would need help. I didn't expect to find a bunch of kids hiding out in a valley, but they have spirit."
Count Tenera tells you, "I fought alongside Bellanesse on Ispar, so I know Varicci and his tactics as well as anyone."
Count Tenera tells you, "Let me tell you about the last time I saw a Lifestone. There were five Eaters... and I got four of them."

Dar Rell tells you, "What good are we doing? A bunch of nobodies trying to fend off an invading army. Impossible! Sometimes I think we should lay down our arms and go back home."

Robert Gutsmasher tells you, "When the Viamontians stole into our cities under cover of darkness, we were wholly unprepared. They killed many for sport, then slew then again at their lifestones. The Viamontians knew they could not entirely kill our people, but that didn't stop them from their murderous lust, laughing and shouting at the screams of the dying."
Robert Gutsmasher tells you, "Now the damnable curs occupy our towns while we scratch out a living in this meager cave. I would seek revenge on those augmented beasts if I were more able. But I am forced to remain here and oversee the feeding of our sick and wounded."
Robert Gutsmasher tells you, "You, however, could do me a favor. There is a type of Viamontian Knight called the Man-At-Arms. Those ones, I find especially irritating. Kill 50 of them for me, and I will reward you for your efforts."

Jedeth Eckhart tells you, "Those Viamontian scum are up to something! Our scouts have reported a large gathering of soldiers, but they don't seem to be doing anything. We need someone to sneak into their midst to find out what their plan is. Use the Back Tunnel to sneak in and find out what they are up to."
Jedeth Eckhart tells you, "Be careful! Those Viamontian are well trained and would easily skewer one so puny as yourself!"

After you've talked to the rebels, head to the back tunnels.

Back Tunnels - 43.9N 73.9W
--No level restriction
--Map:
--Creatures:
Restless Spirit, Royal Thaumaturge, Viamontian Tribune, Sewer Rat, Viamontian Seeker

If you go slowly through the tunnels, the spawns are small and easily defeated. Head west and keep to the right. You'll go down a ramp to the west, then go right. Take a left up a ramp to the east, make a left at the drop and down another ramp to the west. At the 3 way split go right down a ramp to the north and through the fern room. Take the north passage, then a left down a ramp to the west. Cross the wooden bridge and go left heading west until you reach the ramp up to the north (the east ramp leads to rats). Keep straight heading west at the 4 way and keep to the left. Jump up the crates to the next level up. The Viamontian Seeker is behind a door to your right. On its corpse you'll find 6 Grazer Bugs (2 week timer).

If you take the exit portal, you'll be dropped at 42.8N, 67.1W. It may be easier to portal recall back to Bluespire and return to the Hideout. Hand the bug to Dar Rell and he'll admit his guilt. Give it to Jadeth Eckhart for an xp reward (level dependent - caps at 7 million).

You allow Dar Rell to examine your Grazer Bug.
Dar Rell panics when you show him the Grazer Bug!
Dar Rell tells you, "I got captured and they made me swallow it! I didn't have a choice. Please believe me. Don't show this to Jedeth. Please..."

You give Jedeth Eckhart Grazer Bug.
Startled, Jedeth Eckhart drops the Grazer Bug to the ground.
Once freed of its confines, the Grazer Bug quickly makes its way over to Dar Rell.

Jedeth Eckhart tells you, "That's a Grazer Bug! My old man told me about them. They have the uncanny ability to track down their mate no matter how far they are separated."
Jedeth Eckhart's eyes suddenly widen as understanding finally dawns upon him.
Jedeth Eckhart yells, "Dar Rell! You have its mate, don't you? That's why it's trying to make its way over to you. And that's how the Viamontians planned to find our hideout. But why, Dar Rell? We trusted you. You were our friend. How could you betray us?"
Dar Rell steps forward and stomps on the Grazer Bug, crushing it. "They didn't give me a choice! I had to swallow it! But Maggie the Jackcat has stolen its mate...they can't track us now!"
Jedeth Eckhart responds, "I'll deal with you later, Dar Rell. Thanks for your help, Maggie the Jackcat."

You've earned 3,234,914 experience.

Grazer Bug

Grazer Bugs are small parasitic creatures that live inside the bowels of warm blooded animals. They feed off the half-digested food of their host where they will reproduce with their life mate counterpart. In cases of accidental expulsion from its host, the Grazer Bug has the unique ability to track down the host animal to reunite itself with its mate.
