From the Through Sacrifice, Strength event.

Town Crier tells you, "I hear tell there's some kind of ghost haunting a ruined temple in the northeast, near the coast..."

Town Crier tells you, "So there's this ghost at a ruined temple up north. I hear tell the temple is inhabited by Shadows! It's been a long time since Shadows really made a ruckus. I hope the appearance of this temple isn't some kind of dire sign..."

Shade of Farelaith, the tortured soul of an escaped slave, seeks help putting his brothers' spirits to rest after their corruption by Shadows. To reach Farelaith take the Halina settlement portal from Cragstone at 26.2N, 46.3E. He waits outside the Temple of the Stirring Shadow (surface portal may be tied and summoned).

--NPC: Shade of Farelaith - 74.3N, 58.7E

Temple of the Stirring Shadow - 74.3N, 58.7E
--Levels: 80+
--Map: Temple of the Stirring Shadow
--Creatures: Shadow Spectre, Shadow Phantom, Shadow Phantom (Spear), Shadow Phantom (Axe), Shadow Phantom (Mace)

Shade of Farelaith tells you, "You... Yes, you could help me, mortal. I need you to slay my younger brothers, who were corrupted into beings of Shadow by our former master Garel. Please, you must enter this Temple of the Stirring Shadow. The temple has three wings, and one of my brothers serves in each wing. They have lost their names and faces to the Shadow corruption, but they still bear their own weapons... I was a mage in my past life, mortal. Help me, and I shall reward you."
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "Enter the South Wing first, and seek out my poor youngest brother, Baranaith. He wielded a spear in life, as he does now in the shadow. Bring me his spear so that I may know his torment is no more."

The dungeon has three wings. They must be completed in order to flag you for the next section. In each, you'll be seeking one of Fareliath's brothers, a Shadow Phantom wielding a weapon.

For the South Wing, take the SE passage from the drop. Go past the red steam and keep left and you'll find the Shadow Phantom wielding a spear (4 minute respawn). Kill him and loot the spear (timer one time only).

You have solved this quest too many times!

You hear the plaintive voice of the shadow that once was Baranaith cry out: "Farelaith! My brother! Where is my older brother, who said he would guide and protect me?"

Head right bearing SW to find the surface portal. Give the Spear of Baranaith to Farelaith and you'll receive the Spear of Winter Flame in return.

Shade of Farelaith tells you, "You have my brother Baranaith's spear? Please, give it to me, so that I know that he has been granted oblivion."
You give Shade of Farelaith Spear of Baranaith.
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "Oh, my brother's spear! Baranaith was my youngest brother. He was barely more than a child when we were taken to the slave pits of Haebrous. I failed him, most of all..."
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "Take this spear, mortal, as an instrument of vengeance. I have infused it with some portion of my power."
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "Now go into the North Wing and seek out my brother Korogaith. You will know him by his axe."

Shade of Farelaith gives you Spear of Winter Flame.

Reenter the Temple and take the North Wing. You'll take the East passage and make a left down the ramp. Take a right at the split then keep heading north until you reach a ramp down (you can also simply keep right after the split to reach the end). At the botton, you'll find the Phantom carrying the Axe (4 minute respawn). Once again, kill him and return to Farelaith.

You hear the husky voice of the shadow that once was Korogaith cry out: "Farelaith! My brother! Where is my older brother, who abandoned us to the abomination of Grael?"

Shade of Farelaith tells you, "You have my brother Korogaith's axe? Please, give it to me, so that I know that he has been granted oblivion."
You give Shade of Farelaith Axe of Korogaith.
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "This is indeed the axe of my brother Korogaith. He was just a few years older than Baranaith. He was a hunter and a woodsman without peer. He was the one who tracked down Grael in the wilderness... Oh, would that we had never found that accursed soul again, but perished together in the snow..."
Shade of Farelaith gives you Axe of Winter Flame.
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "Take this axe. I have infused it with some portion of my power, to serve as an instrument of vengeance against the dark powers that corrupted my brothers."
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "Now go into the East Wing, the last of the wings, and seek out my brother Hiranaith. You will know him by his mace."

The final East Wing is a straight shot through. Take the east passage down the ramp, go over the acid bridge and you'll find the final Shadow Phantom wielding a Mace (faster respawn). To exit, take the east passage up to the surface portal.

You hear the booming voice of the shadow that once was Hiranaith cry out: "Farelaith! My brother! Where is my older brother, whom I once defended against all others?"

Give the Mace of Hiranaith to Farelaith for the Mace of Winter Flame, and xp reward and a Journal.

Shade of Farelaith tells you, "You have my brother Hiranaith's mace? Please, give it to me, so that I know that he has been granted oblivion."
You give Shade of Farelaith Mace of Hiranaith.
You've earned 1,500,000 experience.

Shade of Farelaith tells you, "Oh, my brother Hiranaith. This is his mace, with which he served in the town guard, before our father was forced to sell us to the imperial slavers. Hiranaith was a year younger than me, but twice as strong. He was my protector in the slave pits. Alas, I could not help him in his time of need..."
Shade of Farelaith tells you, "I have infused the mace with some portion of my power. Take it and use it against the shadowy things which corrutped [sic] us. I give you also my journal, that you may know something of Grael, who was once our master and twice betrayed his followers."

Shade of Farelaith gives you Mace of Winter Flame.
Shade of Farelaith gives you Farelaith's Untranslated Journal.

Shade of Farelaith says, "I failed them... I failed them all..."
