ACPL Local News Story (they interviewed me!)
Hi Maggie,
Thanks for the compliment on my ACPL write-up. At ACPL a reporter did a
brief interview with me. He said it would be
in the news a few weeks ago and it wasn't so I figured the story got
cut. Then I got news clippings of it in the mail. Check it out at
http://www.eastcoastgames.com/AC/.
Thanks,

You and Ned
Okay, so I'm confused. I thought I remembered you saying you role play a
girl and that you are really a guy. Now, I see a picture of you, on your
site, and you are female. Also, why is Ned so old, he seems so young?
Maybe he is just young at heart.
Rashan the Destroyer
WE
Hi Rashan the Destroyer -
Oh dear. This letter made me laugh and laugh. I've never said I was
really a guy, although I've read posts on the boards where people claim
that I am. And your appraisal of Ned. Made me laugh. I decided I had
better get his permission before publishing it. Boys can be so delicate
about their age. Here was his suggested reply:
Do
you think *not* publishing it will make me look younger? Me neither.
Ned looks old because 1) he was born a long time ago, and it shows,
and 2) he stays up way too late playing computer games and arguing on
message boards and inventing lies to counter the lies invented by his
friends. It's all very wearing -- both physically and mentally
draining. The only compensating mechanism is that 3) Ned is, thank
God, very immature for his age.
Hope
that clears things up! ;-)

Elemental Control
I have been reading some lore from the time when Garelan was a student
under Asheron. He
speaks of a Device which he uses to control the cisterns. He said it is
guarded by the undead a sect of the Dericost. It seems just recently the
arcane pedestall quest has come
upon us. Guarded by the new undead of the
blood. The blood being the same as what powers these cisterns. I think
due scrutiny of this place more than we have given it is prudent. I
think in the upcoming event it will be important...

Hi Xaphan -
Things have certainly been heating up in the Cisterns department! I

- Banner Quest Dead?
Hello Maggie,
I was wondering if you heard that the banner quest is dead. I was
looking for Reedshark Tumerok clans and all
the places you had on your site is just more elementals. If you have
seen or heard anything please email me back. Thanks.
Shidimar of LC
Hi Shidimar -
I think the elemental spawns are temporarily replacing the normal spawns
on the landscape. My guess is that after the event moves forward, things
will return to normal. That is... duh duh duh DUM *cues ominous
music*... if we defeat Gaerlan and whatever evil he may unleash.

- Update to Nuhmudira's Boon
Dear Maggie,
On this page: (at the very bottom)
http://www.thejackcat.com/AC/Hobbies/Quests/Boon.htm
It is written:
"Note: even though the Storehouse guards say you can only enter once a
week, you are actually able to go through as many times as you want."
A more correct assessment is:
The Storehouse Guards allow you entry for a period of one week, after
which you must wait another week before you can enter again. So if you
begin the quest on a Saturday, you have seven days during which you can
enter the Storehouses as many times as you need to. On the second
Saturday your timer expires and you will not be allowed in for yet
another week. On the third Saturday you can gain entry again, for the
next 7 day period.
Mishiko of SC
Hi

Ahhh. Excellent clarification!! Thanks very much for sending the
information in. I will try to get the write-up updated soon!

Tusker Husks?
Maggie-
Thanks so much for the fabulous info you make available to all of us,
definitely the most useful site around. I was wondering, and I can't
find info anywhere, what are tusker husks and what do I do with them (as
I have 3 and have no idea if I should hold or drop)?
Thanks for any info.

Tusker Husks are found in

You could choose to give Martine either the Husk or the Letter for

- Spell Durations Update
Just wanted to give you a heads up. Now this is the last thing you want
to hear (having head it probably a quadrillion times) but the spell
durations in the spell sections have not been updated with the new spell
durations. You know, 30 minutes for I-V's, 45 for VI's and an hour for
VII's. (Ducks Maggies Swinging Fist of

Hi Marsal -
When I get really busy at work, I'll sometimes get a bit testy when my
business partner is expecting miracles of the 4th dimensional sort. I
have this annoying list of comebacks that I always threaten to record on
a little tape cassette, so he can press the little button with my
inevitable responses and I can save myself a few precious seconds. They
go something like this: I'm only one person!! There's only so many hours
in the day!! I only have two hands!! But here's my personal favorite: It
doesn't happen by MAGIC!! Suffice it to say, it's on the list! ;-)
And
thanks, by the way, for the lavish affection. If I'm ever in the oval
office, I'll see what I can do about that lag. Just for you. ;-)

I am really disappointed you switched your
search, Now I
cannot find things very easily. :-( I am trying to find out where

page I always used :-(. Just thought I'd let
you know. But I do love the website, just not
the search engine, lol.
Hocus al-Pocus of MT
Level 43 Og Mage
Hi
Hocus al-Pocus -
The google search is going to stay, I'm afraid. It's not perfect, but
it's better than the old one. I did a bunch of test searches, and for
the most part it works great. However, with golem hearts, you'll only
get the
Marae Lassel Crafter and Collector
page. If you search Golem Heart (no plural) the original
Crafter and Collector
page results. I've added a link to the original crafter page from the ML
Crafters page to help. So I'm sorry that a few people have to adjust
their habits, but overall, I think it's a vast improvement.

Broken Quests
You can no longer trade token in for a writ thanks to the new patch. But
you can still goto the furniture store. =)

I recently took a friend to get a token from
the Hollow Minion.
Killed the Minion and exchanged the
Scribbled Note for
the Token. Took the Token
to an Agent of the Arcanum, but he did not
know what to do with it. We tried several more agents with the same
result. Later we ran the Gelidite Library quest, both of us having
several ruined amulets. After saving Nuhmudira and receiving 5% vitae,
we went to see the Agent of the Arcanum. He told us what we needed to
bring him in order to obtain a writ. We did not receive a letter to take
to the guard. I was not aware that these two quests no longer work. I
suggest that ppl leave the ruined amulets lay on the ground right next
to all of the spell comps etc.

Regards,
Hannnibal of FF
Archer/Mage Level 29
Hi Hannibal -
I'm back! It's rather a tragic tale, but it has a happy ending. First,
my business partner was out of town for a week, so I was just a little
extra busy in the work arena. A staple attack, I fear, would have been
no help. (But thanks for the offer! ;-) Then I had a wedding to go to.
Then, well, I was in computer HELL!!
My system has been having...
issues for several months. Frequent lock-ups, sluggishness, and just
general bad behavior. The downward spiral began accelerating and I knew
I had to do something fast. I decided the best solution was to wipe my
hard drive, get rid of Win98 and do a fresh install of Windows 2000
professional. But since I've been kinda sloppy with back-ups and had
almost 40GB of data on the drive and had procrastinated myself into a
somewhat desperate situation, I decided the quickest easiest way to save
all my data was to get a nice new larger zippier hard drive. (This
excellent idea was actually my vassal's. He are smart!) I installed the
new drive and copied all my data over before the wipe. Then I did the
wipe, did the Windows install... and still had issues. Serious issues.
My computer-whiz
brother-in-law diagnosed hardware problems: failed hard drive. Or maybe
mother board! Whee! I disconnected the old drive, made the new drive the
main hard drive and so far so good. I'm back up and running!
Ok, so it really wasn't
*that* hellish. It could have been a LOT worse. It was just, as these computer things always are, time
consuming and a pain in the behind, with brief moments of great panic
and fright! It's not like I wasn't using my laptop or didn't have DSL at
work. It's just that I prefer working on my main computer at home,
surrounded by my wonderful 40GB of stuff.
