Peas were introduced during the Hollow Victory event to assist mages with one of two ongoing issues: burden! In addition to the overall component burden dropping from 5 to 4 during this patch, a mage can now also opt to carry peas. When you use a splitting tool to split the pea, you will make 50 of the type of component indicated (Talisman & Scarab peas make 20 each). This new product helps mages avoid having to leave the field to restock often. The second ongoing issue for mages is, of course, pack space. Peas won't help with that one. ;-) The names for these items are also a play on the popular Taper Calculation program Splitpea by Merry of Darktide.
