The first Virindi Mask was introduced during October 2000's Hollow Victory event. By giving a Broken Virindi Mask (see table to the right for a list of Virindi's which drop the broken mask) to Leopold in Ayan Baqur (59.2S, 88.3W), you'd receive the Virindi Mask in return. Broken Masks may not be dropped or given away, but a completed Mask can. The quest timer on the Virindi Mask is 3 weeks.

Leopold tells you, "How do you expect to fool anyone with a disguise that poor? Quickly my comrade, you are fortunate that I have proper magics with which to fix your mask."

If you give your Virindi Mask to one of the heritage mask makers, you will receive one of the special heritage masks in return! You'll receive the King's Helm from the Aluvian Mask Maker, Shadow's Garb from the Gharu'ndim and the Ogre Mask from the Sho Mask Maker.

Mask Makers

Alexander the Deft (Aluvian)
Eastham - 17.6N, 63.4E

Janda Sulifiya (Gharu'ndim)
Al-Jalima - 7.4N, 4.7E

Tsua Kagemata (Sho)
Sawato - 28.7S, 59.3E

In the 2001 October event, The Widening Gyre, masks returned, even better than before! A new set of beautiful heritage masks also became available, made from a Virindi Inquisitor's Mask. Give the Aluvian Mask Maker the Inquisitor's Mask for Pwyll's Crown. The Gharu'ndim gives you the Veil of Darkness and from the Sho you'll receive Koji's Beast.

You give Leopold Broken Virindi Inquisitor Mask.
Leopold tells you, "This world is a dangerous place. By wearing that, you have proven you are a predator, not the prey"
Leopold gives you Virindi Inquisitor's Mask.

Another mask, the Virindi Director's Mask, was also introduced and can be obtained by completing a quest in the Singularity Obsidian Repository - 55.9S, 64.8W (Levels 45-56) -- the third dungeon of the Repositories quests.

Note: The Obsidian Director's Mask cannot be used to receive heritage masks.

The Festivus event introduced yet another Virindi Mask and 3 more heritage masks. Give a Broken Virindi Profatrix Mask to Leopold for the Virindi Profatrix Mask and give the Profatrix Mask to a mask maker for a heritage mask. The three masks returned for a Profatrix Mask are Pwyll's Guard, Shroud of Night or Koji's Fiend.

You give Leopold Broken Virindi Proatrix Mask.
Leopold tells you, "Anomaly inconsistent with structure. Form devoid of contact. Conclusion, disruption to the Singularity. I must-"
Leopold gives you Virindi Profatrix Mask.
Leoplod tells you, "Enjoy your prize meat- err human."

The Virindi Profatrix Mask was updated during Into the Darkness. If you have an older style mask, you can give it to one of the apprentice mask makers for an updated version!

You give Alexander's Apprentice Virindi Profatrix Mask.
Alexander's Apprentice tells you, "Interesting. I must say that I am glad to finally be doing something more than second--hand work. Wait a minute! This is something that Alexander didn't want to work with. Perfect! Just perfect!"
Alexander's Apprentice grumbles under his breath. As he grumbles he begins to make changes to the mask.
Alexander's Apprentice gives you Virindi Profatrix Mask.

Alexander's Apprentice tells you, "There! That's the best work I have in me."

The Reign of Terror event saw the biggest update to Virindi Masks to date. In addition to updated stats, other NPCs started taking the masks, including Diyas al-Yat in Zaikhal.

Diyas al-Yat tells you, "Hello! I am studying those most enigmatic beings, the Virindi. I think I can translate their language. Do not ask me how I acquired such knowledge."
Diyas al-Yat tells you, "I have also been in touch with Leopold, in Ayan Baqur, and he has given me some repaired Virindi masks to trade for broken ones."

You allow Diyas al-Yat to examine your Broken Virindi Profatrix Mask.
Diyas al-Yat tells you, "No, no thank you. I don't like the feel of this one."
Diyas al-Yat shivers.
Diyas al-Yat tells you, "You might try that ... Virindi ... in Yanshi."

The Virindi in Yanshi is Vicandi who stands guard outside the Tunnels to the Harbinger portal. He will also return masks for some selected broken masks.

You give Vincadi Broken Virindi Profatrix Mask.
Vincadi tells you, "How did you obtain this artifact? Well, no matter. It can be repaired and used."
Vincadi gives you Virindi Profatrix Mask.

You allow Vincadi to examine your Virindi Mask.
Vincadi tells you, "I am not interested in collecting bits of inferior creatures."

You give Vincadi Broken Virindi Consul Mask.
Vincadi tells you, "How did you obtain this artifact? Well, no matter. It can be repaired and used."
Vincadi gives you Virindi Consul Mask.

Virindi Observers began dropping broken masks as well, but the resulting mask is a Virindi Inquisitor's Mask, not an Observer Mask.

You give Leopold Broken Virindi Observer Mask.
Leopold tells you, "Comrade, what is this? Where did you find it? You did not cause damage to one such as myself, I hope!"
Leopold tells you, "Haha! I know that you would not! I will keep this broken mask, but you may have this repaired mask in exchange."

Leopold gives you Virindi Inquisitor's Mask.

A fourth round of heritage masks were also introduced, given in exchange for the new Virindi Consul Masks! The Aluvian mask is Alfric's Bull. The Gharu'ndim mask is The Poet's Mask, and the Sho mask is Koji's Visage.

You allow Leopold to examine your Broken Virindi Consul Mask.
Leopold tells you, "Anomaly! Anomaly! Chaos! Disruption!"
Leopold tells you, "No."
